Abstract

Manilkara zapota, commonly known as sapodilla, is one of tropical fruits, originating from Central and South America that is still less popular in Indonesia, as compared to banana, citrus, mango, etc. To gain its popularity, it is crucial to review beneficial uses, existing production status and propagation techniques of sapodilla. In general, sapodilla is used for either table fresh fruit. Additionally, it contains various bioactivities in its fruit, stem, and leaves, such as antioxidant, antimicrobe, and antitumor activity; thus, become very potential for pharmaceutical purposes. The existing production data of sapodilla determine the West Java Province as the biggest production area in Indonesia, with total contribution of about 21% or 38.250 tons. In more detail, the top production area at the village level with a local sapodilla cultivar, namely Sukatali sapodilla, is found in Sukatali Village in Situraja Subdistrict, Sumedang District, West Java Province. Sapodilla can be propagated by using both reproductive and vegetative methods. Vegetative propagation of grafting is commonly used to produce shorter juvenile and uniform seedlings. However, it is highly dependent upon the grafting type, grafting season, and scion diameter. The modified cleft grafting is the best grafting type rather than cleft and veneer grafting. Several rootstocks that are commonly used for sapodilla seedling are Chrysophyllum lanceolatum and Manilkara hexandra. June-July is the best period to having grafting. The scion with a diameter of 5.02 mm is recommended due to adequate food reserves for recovery growth.

Abstract

Diuretics are substances that can increase the rate of excretion of urine volume and indicate the amount of expenditure (loss) of solutes and water. The Alang-Alang rhizome and the Cat's Whiskers plant are one of the many plants that have many advantages and have been used for a long time in an effort to maintain health. This study aims to determine the combined activity of Alang-alang (Imperata cylindrical L.) Rhizome Extract and Kumis Leaf Extract. Cat (Orthosiphon stamineus L.) as a diuretic in mice (Mus musculus). The test animals were divided into 5 groups, each group consisted of 3 test animals. Group I was given a 1% w/v Na-CMC colloidal solution as a control. Groups II, III and IV were given a suspension of a combination of Alang-Alang rhizome extract and Kumis Kucing Leaf extract with each dose of 100 mg/Kg BW ratio (1 : 1), (1 : 2) and (2 : 1) as the treatment group. The highest to lowest diuretic activity sequentially with the average value being furosemide (3.67), combination (Alang-Alang rhizome: Daun Kumis Kucing) 2 : 1 (2.67), combination (Rimpang Alang-Alang: Daun Kumis Kucing) ) 1 : 2 (1,33), and a combination (Alang-Alang Rhizome: Cat's Whisker Leaf) 1 : 1 (1,33). The largest combination dose that gave an increase in urinary frequency was at a combination dose of 2: 1 (Rhimpang Alang-Alang: Daun Kumis Kucing) with an average value of 2.67.

Abstract

Abstract This study aims to analyze the influence of brand experience on brand loyalty, with brand love as a mediating variable among Gen Z in Klaten Regency in choosing local sneaker brands. The research employs a quantitative approach with a survey method. Data were collected from 107 respondents selected through purposive sampling and analyzed using path analysis and Sobel test to examine mediation. The findings indicate that brand experience has a positive and significant effect on brand loyalty (β = 0.257; p = 0.011) and brand love (β = 0.604; p = 0.000). Additionally, brand love significantly influences brand loyalty (β = 0.609; p = 0.000). The Sobel test confirms that brand love significantly mediates the relationship between brand experience and brand loyalty (t = 3.711; p = 0.000). These findings suggest that a positive brand experience directly enhances consumer loyalty and indirectly strengthens it through brand love. Practical implications highlight the need for local sneaker brands to focus on improving brand experience and fostering emotional connections with consumers to build stronger loyalty Keywords: Brand Experience, Brand Loyalty, Brand Love, Local Sneakers, Gen Z

Abstract

The objective of the study was to evaluate the seed vigor of two soybean cultivars under submergence stress conditions. This research was carried out from January to March 2024 at the Seed Technology Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Padjadjaran. The first test to compare the two cultivars used the F test as variance analysis, and the differences between the two conditions of water level were measured using the t-test at the 5% significant level. In each treatment, it was replicated 4 times and duplicated. Furthermore, the vigor characters were measured using a plastic rolled paper test (PRP) test for 40 seeds in each test. The results of this study indicate that submergence stress conditions can give a real affection to germination percentage, vigor index, root length, hypocotyl, and epicotyl length. The higher germination percentage and vigor index in submergence stress were obtained in the Demas 1 cultivar, 80% and 7,22 respectively. Besides, the hypocotyl and epicotyl length in submergence stress showed higher compare to Dega 1, 11.58 cm and 2.54 cm, respectively. Even though, the Dega 1 cultivar showed the best response in root length under submergence stress conditions with a length of 6 cm. These results indicated that the different response cultivars on Submergence stress may be caused by the genetic and internal condition of the seed.
