Abstract

This study aims to determine the position and urgency of counseling guidance in educational practice. This research method uses literature review research methods (library research). Counseling guidance does have an important role and position for students. The role of guidance and counseling is very helpful in improving the quality of education. Because this guidance and counseling can help find solutions to problems that occur in the world of education. As it is well known that in educational activities in counseling guidance which is positioned as an integral part of the overall educational activities in schools in its implementation has several operational patterns, especially in the current situation where the function of schools or formal educational institutions is not only to equip students who are a pile of knowledge but also prepare students to meet the guidance of change and progress that occurs in  community. So the position of counseling guidance in education is a forum or institution to accommodate and solve student problems that cannot be accommodated and resolved by educators.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out what are the inhibiting factors for the implementation of the Counseling Guidance program at Muhammadiyah 57 Middle School Medan. The approach to this study uses qualitative descriptive research and the type of research is case study. Data collection is by interview. Data analysis techniques in this research use miles and huberman with data reduction models, presentations, and concluded the results of the study. Respondents in this study were guidance counseling teachers at Muhammadiyah 57 Middle School Medan.

Abstract

The potential of each learner has many varieties and is different. The potential of students in each school must be developed and honed so that they can further explore the potential they desire. Based on this understanding, teachers need to work hard and creatively to explore various efforts in the form of media, teaching materials, and learning methods to facilitate students appropriately and creatively so that they are in accordance with their development, including their learning style. Self-development is actually not new for Guidance and Counseling Teachers (Guidance Teachers). So far, Guidance and Counseling Teachers have actually carried out service activities for students, which incidentally are self-development activities. This can be seen in the 2004 Competency-Based Curriculum (KBK), which states that Counseling is an assistance service for students, both individually and in groups, to be independent and develop optimally. In essence, service activities.

Abstract

Pentingnya penerapan pendekatan humanistik dan teknik attending dalam konseling untuk menciptakan sesi konseling yang efektif dan berkelanjutan. Pendekatan humanistik menekankan pemahaman individu sebagai makhluk unik dengan potensi pertumbuhan dan penghargaan terhadap otonomi klien. Teknik attending, yang mencakup mendengarkan aktif, empati, dan kesadaran diri, adalah alat penting dalam mencapai hubungan konseling yang positif. Penerapan pendekatan ini menciptakan lingkungan yang mendukung perubahan positif dalam hidup klien, meningkatkan kesadaran diri mereka, dan membantu mereka mengatasi tantangan dan perubahan. Kesimpulannya, pendekatan humanistik dan teknik attending adalah alat yang kuat dalam konseling yang berkelanjutan dan efektif, yang memberikan manfaat yang signifikan bagi klien dalam perjalanan mereka menuju pemahaman diri yang lebih dalam dan pertumbuhan pribadi
