Abstract

There two objectives of the current study: First, it is to explain the advocacy strategy used by SAPDA (one prominent Yogyakarta based NGO) for the victims of violence among women with disabilities. Second, barriers they face in doing the advocacy for the women with disabilities. This study identifies three levels of advocacy by SAPDA: micro, mezzo, and macro – modelling them with the typical social work intervensions. The research shows that SAPDA mostly use the mezzo level of advocacy. It is related to the barriers they face in developing advocacy at the other levels. These barriers include the internal barriers such as the human resources; lack of control over advocacy policy; poor planning and management. In addition, there are also what consitute external barriers: management, staffs recruitment, and poor training.[Penelitian ini mempunyai dua tujuan: Pertama, untuk menjelaskan strategi advokasi yang dilakukan SAPDA (Satuan Advokasi Perempuan dan Anak Difabel) terhadap perempuan difabel korban kekerasan.
