Abstract

Bullying in elementary schools, whether in the form of verbal or physical violence, is a serious problem that can disrupt socio-emotional development, lower academic achievement, and pose long-term psychological risks for children. This phenomenon remains prevalent in Indonesia, thus requiring early prevention efforts that are structured and involve all school stakeholders. This community service activity aimed to provide psychoeducation to elementary school students to enhance their awareness, empathy, and social skills in preventing and addressing bullying. The program was conducted at SD Negeri Karanganyar Gunung 02, Semarang City, involving 120 students from grades I to VI. The implementation methods included interactive material delivery, group discussions, role-play activities, and the formulation of a joint “Safe School” commitment involving students, teachers, and parent representatives. The materials were presented in simple language and incorporated engaging activities to facilitate students’ understanding. The results indicated an improvement in students’ understanding, as reflected in their ability to identify various forms of bullying, explain its impacts, and describe appropriate actions when becoming a victim or witness. In addition, teachers reported an increase in mutual respect among students and a decrease in the frequency of minor aggressive behaviors in the classroom within two weeks after the program. This initiative proved effective in creating a safer and more positive school climate and is recommended for integration into elementary school character-building programs.

Abstract

Student mental health has become an increasingly important issue in higher education due to the rising prevalence of stress and psychological distress among university students. Limited accessibility to mental health services and the lack of integration between early detection and intervention systems often hinder timely psychological support. This study aimed to develop and evaluate an integrated web-based stress screening and counseling referral system as an early mental health intervention model for university students. The study employed a research and development approach involving needs analysis, system development, instrument validation, pilot testing, implementation, and evaluation. A total of 180 university students participated in the study. Data were collected using a web-based stress screening instrument integrated with an automated scoring and adaptive referral mechanism. The findings revealed that most participants were categorized within moderate to high stress levels, indicating the urgent need for preventive mental health services in higher education settings. The developed system demonstrated effective identification of stress levels and facilitated students’ engagement with recommended counseling services. These results suggest that the integrated system provides a scalable and technology-driven framework for improving early mental health intervention and promoting help-seeking behavior among university students.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between knowledge and attitudes and compliance with the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) among production workers in the food industry in Semarang. The study employed a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design involving production workers as respondents. Data were collected through questionnaires to measure levels of knowledge and attitudes, as well as direct observation to assess compliance with PPE usage. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive and bivariate methods to identify relationships between variables. The results showed that there is a relationship between knowledge and attitudes and compliance with PPE usage. Workers with a higher level of knowledge and positive attitudes tend to be more compliant in using PPE compared to those with lower knowledge and negative attitudes. However, compliance is not only influenced by individual factors but also by workplace environmental factors such as supervision, safety culture, and the comfort of PPE use. These findings emphasize that improving compliance requires a comprehensive and integrative approach. The conclusion of this study is that knowledge and attitudes are important determinants in shaping compliance behavior in PPE usage; however, their effectiveness is strongly influenced by workplace support. Therefore, strategies to improve occupational safety should include continuous education, strengthened supervision, and the development of a safety culture within the industrial environment.

Abstract

In multinational corporations (MNCs), leadership styles play a pivotal role in shaping employee well-being, which in turn influences organizational performance. However, the impact of leadership on employee well-being varies significantly across different cultural contexts. This study explores how various leadership styles—transformational, transactional, and laissez-faire—affect employee well-being within MNCs operating in diverse cultural settings. The primary objective is to examine the relationship between leadership styles and employee well-being across four regions: North America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. A mixed-methods approach was employed, combining quantitative surveys (300 employees) and qualitative interviews (30 managers) to gather comprehensive data on leadership styles and employee well-being. The results indicate that transformational leadership is positively correlated with high employee well-being, particularly in individualistic cultures, while transactional leadership shows a weaker association with well-being in more collectivist cultures. The study also highlights significant regional differences in leadership perceptions and their impact on employee engagement and job satisfaction. This research underscores the importance of culturally adaptive leadership practices and provides practical implications for MNCs seeking to optimize employee well-being across diverse workforces.
