Abstract

Program Kemitraan Masyarakat (PKM) bagi kepala sekolah dilakukan dalam bentuk kegiatan pelatihan peningatan kompetensi kepala sekolah (SMA & SLB) pada kelompok kepala sekolah, di Sulawesi Barat. Tujuan kegiatan ini untuk memberikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan dan pemahaman bagi kepala sekolah SMA dan SLB, tentang kompetensi majaerial, sehingga dapat membantu sekolah mewujudkan mutu sekolah dalam rangka meningkatkan kemampuan kepala sekolah pada kompetensi manajerial. Kegiatan pelatihan ini menggunakan metode ceramah, tanya jawab dan diskusi. Hasil pelatihan menunjukkan bahwa kepala sekolah SMA dan SLB dapat memahami materi yang diberikan secara baik sehingga membantu kepala sekolah dalam memahami standar kompetensi manajerial kepala sekolah, yang menjadi tugas dan tanggung jawab kepala sekolah. Peserta pelatihan adalah kepala sekolah di Propensi Sulawesi Barat khususnya Mamuju yang berjumlah 20 orang. Diharapkan kepala sekolah dapat mengerti dan memahami materi yang telah diberikan pada kegiatan ini, karena materi ini dilengkapi dengan latihan memahaman kompetensi manajerial, sehingga kendala kepala sekolah, bisa teratasi. Untuk meningkatkan kompetensi kepala sekolah SMA dan SLB, diharapkan pelatihan ini dilakukan untuk semua kepala sekolah SMA dan SLB, sehingga bisa menjalangkan kompetensi tersebut dengan baik dan meningkatkan kemampuan.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to obtain information and an overview of the administrative competence of laboratory personnel and the need to develop a supervision model that will be used by school principals to improve the competence and performance of laboratory staff in Vocational High Schools (SMK). This research uses the Research & Development method with research and development design at the preliminary study stage as needs and content analysis; a data source is a working group of 30 school principals in Sinjai District. The analysis results show that: (1) the competence of laboratory staff in vocational high schools (SMK) based on the analysis of performance appraisal documents in the category is not good. (2) The results of the principal's questionnaire require the development of a supervision model for laboratory personnel. Therefore, this research contributes to and benefits the principal to supervise laboratory staff to improve their competence and performance.

Abstract

Adversity quotient is a cognitive, affective, and motor ability that is an important provision for someone to be able to navigate life. A good adversity quotient affects students' academic competence. This study aims to reveal the teacher's role in increasing the adversity quotient of students and the design form of developing a character education management model that teachers can use to increase the adversity quotient of students in elementary schools. The research method used the RD method in the preliminary stage. This research was conducted on school principals, teachers, and elementary school students. Sources of data were the school principal, teachers, and students through a questionnaire totaling 50 people. The results of the study show that: (1) An overview of students' adversity quotient that can be grown through character education is endurance, independence, self-control, focus, and critical thinking; (2) The teacher's role in increasing students' adversity quotient is not yet optimal, so it needs to get attention and time to implement properly; (3) The need for a character education management model that can be used by teachers starts from planning, implementing, and evaluating. The novelty of this research is the design of a character education management model that teachers can use to increase students' adversity quotient according to their needs and characteristics. This research is useful for teachers and students in elementary schools in increasing students’ adversity quotient. The benefits and significance of this character education management model can improve the quality and character of graduates.
