Abstract

Depression in adolescents can arise due to several things such as academic pressure, bullying, family factors and economic problems. Data in Indonesia shows that suicide cases can reach 10,000 or the equivalent of every day for one hour there is a suicide case. According to a suciodologist 4.2% of adolescents in Indonesia have thought about suicide. Among students 6.9% had suicidal intentions while another 3% were actually involved in suicide attempts. Health promotion aims to improve the ability of the community through learning from by and for the community in accordance with local socio-cultural conditions and supported by health-oriented public policies. The purpose of community service activities is that students are expected to be able to apply the concept of health education in real terms related to adolescent mental health at Husada Pratama Health SMKS in Serang City, so that they can contribute to improving public health status, especially for adolescents. The results of community service activities can be concluded that there is still a lack of knowledge about mental health in students which makes students not understand the importance and impact that will occur if they do not maintain mental health.

Abstract

In 2024, there was an upward trend in Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF) cases in Blitar City, with a total of 135 reported cases. The Incidence Rate (IR) was 92.21 per 100,000 population, and the Case Fatality Rate (CFR) stood at 2.36%. This study aims to investigate DHF cases occurring in three Community Health Centers (Puskesmas) in Blitar City. Using secondary data sources, the highest transmission rate was recorded during the 13th epidemiological week (March 22, 2024) through the 14th week (March 25, 2024). Fatalities were reported in children aged 6 months and 10 years, with the highest Attack Rate found in the 5–14-year age group. In 2024, the Larvae-Free Index (Angka Bebas Jentik/ABJ) in Blitar City was recorded at 94.6%, slightly below the ideal target of >95%. Preventive and promotive efforts were carried out through effective Mosquito Nest Eradication (Eradication of Mosquito Breeding Places/PSN) using the 3M strategy: draining, covering, and recycling water storage containers, along with "Plus" actions such as sprinkling larvicide in hard-to-clean water containers, using mosquito repellent, sleeping under mosquito nets, breeding larva-eating fish, planting mosquito-repellent plants, installing window screens, and regularly inspecting water containers. Individuals experiencing recurrent fever with a body temperature ≥38°C for more than 3 days are advised to seek medical examination promptly and maintain adequate fluid intake. Fogging was conducted within a 200-meter radius around residences where DHF cases or confirmed diagnoses were found. Herd immunity efforts through immunization are considered a cost-effective alternative for controlling the spread of DHF

Abstract

Shoulder impingement is a painful shoulder condition caused by injuries to the structures in the subacromial space. The research aims to analyze the effects of the Mulligan Technique and Ultrasound on pain and functional ability in shoulder impingement conditions at EMC Sentul Hospital. The research method used is a quasi-experimental design with pre and post-test control groups. Thirty participants were divided into two groups: an intervention group receiving the Mulligan Technique and Ultrasound (15 participants) and a control group receiving TENS and conventional exercise therapy (15 participants). Each participant underwent six sessions per week, twice a week. Before and after the treatment, each participant's pain level was measured using the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS), and functional ability was assessed using the Shoulder Pain and Disability Index (SPADI). The analysis of the data showed that both treatments in the two groups reduced pain and improved functional ability in shoulder impingement conditions. However, there was a significant difference in the group receiving the Mulligan Technique and Ultrasound, with an average pain reduction from 6.6 NRS to 1.3 NRS and an increase in functional ability from 62.6% to 11.85%. The group receiving TENS and conventional exercise therapy showed an average pain reduction from 3.6 NRS to 6.13 NRS and an increase in functional ability from 61.3% to 40.2%. In conclusion, the study suggests that the application of the Mulligan Technique and Ultrasound is more effective in reducing pain and improving functional abil-ity compared to TENS and conventional exercise therapy in shoulder impingement conditions.

Abstract

Introduction: Community health cadres serve as vital front-line actors in improving maternal health outcomes, particularly in the early identification of high-risk pregnancies. Operating as motivators, facilitators, and educators, their performance is influenced by internal attributes such as knowledge, skills, competence, and motivation, alongside external elements including social support. However, limited evidence exists on how these factors interact to influence their effectiveness. This study aimed to develop a structural model to analyze the relationships between these internal and external factors and their impact on cadre performance in early risk detection. Methods: A cross-sectional study with a correlational approach was conducted from January to May 2025. A total of 330 active health cadres from 37 community health centers in Kediri Regency, Indonesia, were selected using proportional random sampling. Data were collected through a structured questionnaire and analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) to explore both direct and mediated effects among variables. Results: Knowledge (? = 0.044, p = 0.004), skills (? = 0.329, p < 0.001), and social support (? = 0.639, p < 0.001) significantly enhanced competence. Competence, in turn, strengthened motivation (? = 0.546, p < 0.001), which had the strongest direct effect on performance (? = 0.319, p = 0.043). Social support and skills indirectly improved performance through competence and motivation. The final model demonstrated good fit (SRMR = 0.046; NFI = 0.91; RMS_theta = 0.08) and explained 68% of the variance in cadre performance (R² = 0.68). Conclusion: Competence and motivation act as key mediators linking individual capacities and social support to performance. Strengthening these aspects through structured training and continuous social reinforcement is essential to enhance early detection of high-risk pregnancies and improve maternal health outcomes.
