Abstract

Osteoarthritis is a disease that is ranked eleventh worldwide that causes disruption to daily activities and is a major global health problem. Strengthening exercises are muscle strengthening exercises that are considered effective in knee osteoarthritis rehabilitation programs. Education in health services has a strong scientific evidence base in assisting the process of health services, especially knee osteoarthritis, which in essence is a treatment that is prioritized from the start of treatment to evaluation. The purpose of this study was to analyze the educational effect of the strengthening exercise combination treatment on changes in activity daily living and range of motion in conditions of knee osteoarthritis. There were 26 subjects in this study and they were divided into 2 groups, namely 13 people with education on the strengthening exercise combination treatment and 13 people with electrotherapy as controls. Activity daily living was measured using the Western Ontario and McMaster Universities Osteoarthritis Index WOMAC scale and range of motion was measured using a goniometer. The p-value of the parried sample t-test was <0.05 for both the treatment and control groups. The p-value of the independent sample t-test was <0.05, meaning that there was a difference in the effect of the two groups, where the combination strengthening exercise treatment education had more effect. It was concluded that the combination strengthening exercise treatment education greatly influences changes in activity daily living and range of motion in knee osteoarthritis conditions. Keywords: knee osteoarthritis; treatment education; strengthening exercises; daily living activities; range of motion ABSTRAK Osteoartritis merupakan penyakit yang menduduki peringkat sebelas penyakit diseluruh dunia yang menyebabkan gangguan aktifitas keseharian dan menjadi salah satu masalah utama kesehatan global. Kata kunci: knee osteoarthritis; edukasi treatment; strengthening exercise; activity daily living; range of motion

Back pain is a problem in many countries, because it often affects productivity of the work. World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that the incidence of low back pain reaching 60-70% occurs in early adulthood. Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyze of working period, the length of sitting, and sitting position in lumbago event and look for the most dominant factors among the three variables at Margantara Jaya Tulungagung Cigarette Factory. Methodhs: The study design used quantitative research as the research design by using a “cross sectional” approach. The sampling technique was used by the researcher was Simple Random Sampling with a sample calculation formula obtained a sample of 135 respondents. The data analysis techniques were using the Logistic Regression test. Results: The result showed that from 135 respondents who had been studied by the researcher, it was found that 115 respondents (85%) had positive lumbago. 80 of 135 respondents (59%) had more than 10 years of service, and 114 of 135 respondents (84%) sat for more than 9 hours per day and 122 of 135 respondents (92%) were in ergonomic sitting position. Based on the Logistic Regression test based on the omnibus test of the model, it showed a significance value of p-value = 0,000 <α = 0.05, it meant that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, this means that there was a joint effect between the factors of work period, length of work and sitting position of lumbago incidents in hand- rolled clove cigarette workers. Based on the value of Exp (B) with the highest value Exp (B) = 187,663 it can be concluded that the most dominant factor that affecting the lumbago event is the sitting position. Conclusion: There is a relationship between the factors of work period, length of work and sitting position of lumbago incidents in hand- rolled clove cigarette workers and the most dominant factor that affecting the lumbago event is the sitting position.

Abstract

Diabetes represents a significant public health concern, affecting millions of individuals worldwide. Its prevalence is increasing, driven in part by lifestyle factors and the aging of the global population. This systematic review explores the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) in enhancing diabetes prevention, diagnosis, and management. The review highlights the promise of personalized and proactive healthcare enabled through AI. The research methodology employed an exhaustive review of the literature, the formulation of specific inclusion and exclusion criteria, a data extraction process from selected studies that focused on the role of AI in diabetes, and a comprehensive analysis to identify the specific domains and functions in which AI makes a significant contribution. The results of the conducted literature review indicate that artificial intelligence (AI) can be regarded as a transformative force in the following eight key areas within the field of diabetes care: 1) Management and Care of Diabetes, 2) Diagnostic and Imaging Technologies, 3) Health Monitoring Systems, 4) Development of Predictive Models, 5) Public Health Interventions, 6) Lifestyle and Dietary Management, 7) Enhancement of Clinical Decision Making, and 8) Engagement and Self-Management of Patients. Additionally, the utilization of AI may result in a reduction in the risk of mortality from diabetes.

Abstract

The present study aimed to investigate the relationship between participation in sport and mental health through a literature review. While sport has long been recognized for its physical benefits, its impact on mental health has recently attracted greater attention. In order to analyze the literature addressing how sport affects mental health, both negatively and positively, a comprehensive search was conducted using data from journal articles, books as well as research reports published in the last two decades. It is crucial to maximize the benefits of exercise while minimizing the risks. This review reaffirms the significance of exercise as an efficacious intervention for mental health, underscoring the necessity for a balanced and informed approach to managing risks. Further research recommendations include longitudinal investigations of the long-term effects of exercise on mental health and studies of the psychological mechanisms behind its benefits. It is crucial to optimize exercise benefits while minimizing risks. This review corroborates the efficacy of exercise as an effective intervention for mental health and emphasizes the need for a balanced and informed approach to risk management. Further research is warranted to examine the long-term effects of exercise on mental health and to elucidate the underlying psychological mechanisms associated with its benefits.
