Abstract

ABSTRACTPlant sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas. L) is one of the crops that have a high nutrient, sweet potato ranks ninth among food crop in the world. This study aims to determine the percentage of the pest in some centers C.formicarius sweet potato plant, in the district of South Minahasa, Minahasa regency, and Tomohon. The benefits of this research are expected to provide information on the percentage of C.formicarius pests, so it can be used as an input in the preparation of control programs in the future. results showed that the percentage of pests C. formicarius highest in South Minahasa Regency Village District Sinisir Modoinding 36.09% at follow Tomohon Tomohon western sub Desa Woloan 10.06% and Minahasa Regency Village District Sumarayar North Langowan 8.78%. high percentage pests C. formicarius in South Minahasa Regency Village Sinisir Modoinding district because of the availability of food but to attack yams C. formicarius also attack potato plants so that pest populations C. formicarius Sinisir village increased.Keywords: Sweet potato (Ipomoea batatas), Attack Cylas formicarius F. Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study aims to determine the insect pest population C. formicarius at different altitude. The experiment was conducted in several sweet potato plants centers in the Sinisir Village District of Modoinding South Minahasa Regency, Woloan Village 1 District of Central Tomohon, City of Tomohon, and Sumarayar Village District of Langowan Minahasa regency. The study was conducted from June to December 2012. The things that observed in this study were the number of larvae founded in sweet potato tubers are attacked by pests C. formicarius.The results showed that the average population of the pest C. highest formicarius found sequentially in the Village Sinisir, Sumarayar and Woloan 1, ie 23.0%, 10.0% and 6.8%. Chi-square analysis results as indicating a relationship between altitude and pest population C. formicarius. This is indicated by the value of its asymp sig 0.521 greater than 0.05.Keyword: Cylas formicarius F., Ipomea batatas L. Ubi Jalar, Desa Sinisir, Desa Sumarayar dan Desa Woloan 1

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe aims of the research is to identify the fungi associated with the death P. xylostella larvae. The research was carried out during 3 (three) months i.e. started from August until November 2012, which is located in the Tomohon City and District of Modoinding. Working procedures of the study include: (1) a collection of the death P. xylostella larvae by taking samples along with cabbage leaves, (2) identification of fungi associated with dead P. larvae xylostella through macroscopic and microscopic observations and isolation on PDA + AB medium by direct plating and dilution. The results showed that there are five species of fungi of the death P. xylostella larvae, namely Hirsutella sp. , Metarhizium sp, Penicillium sp., Fusarium sp., and Aspergillus sp. The species of fungi Hirsutella sp. and Metarhizium sp. including entomopathogenic fungi, while Penicillium sp., Fusarium sp., and Aspergillus sp. may be opportunistic or saprophyte.Keyword: Dead P.xylostella larvae, entomopathogenic fungi, opportunistic fungi

Abstract

ABSTRACTMargareta M. Kawulusan. Population Lamprosema indicata (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae) to Plant in Red Beans at District Tompaso and Kawangkoan Regency Minahasa. Guidence Prof. Dr. Ir. Odi R. Pinontoan, MS as chairman, Dr. Ir. Mareyke Moningka, MS and Dr. Ir. Dantje Tarore, MS as member.This study aims to determine the symptoms and attacks on the population of L. indicata red beans crops in the district Tompaso and Kawangkoan, Minahasa regency. The study uses survey and sampling methods are purposive sampling at a predetermined location. Area is used as an observation area set at 300 m2 which is divided into five sub-plot of the observations in the form of diagonal slices. Observations on the larval population sub-plot planting beans defined five beds and beds of each plant sample was observed ten systematically determined. Observations were carried out five times at intervals of seven days in the time period of 2-3 weeks old plants. Things were observed in this study is a symptom of pest attack L. indicata larvae collected and the number of observation each time.Pests attack L. indicata encountered red bean crop farmers in the district Tompaso and Kawangkoan. Population larvae L. indicata in District Kawangkoan peak in the third observation that 6,60 in the village were in the village Kanonang Tondegesan, observation of a peak in the fourth with an average population of the same, namely 6.60. While in the District Tompaso, peak larval populations of L. indicata third at 7.00 on observations of individuals in the village Tonsewer I, a peak in the second observation with the population average of 6,80.Key words : Lamprosema indicatai, Kacang Merah, Minahasa

Abstract

ABSTRACTPapaya is a fairly widely cultivated plant in Indonesia. Fruits of the plant are most commonly used for directly consumption, while the flowers and leaves use as a vegetable. Lately, there are new pests that attack papaya plants, which is papaya mealybug Paracoccus marginatus. This research aimed to find out the population and percentage of the P. marginatus attack on papaya cultivated by monoculture and polyculture. The research was conducted in District of Dimembe, North Minahasa Regency. The research was carried out for 7 months, March to September 2014. This research used a survey methods. Three villages used as sampling sites were in Matungkas Village, Laikit Village and Dimembe Village. Each village was taken three locations of papaya cultivated consisted of monoculture and polyculture. Observations percentage of the attacks mealybugs done visually by symptom. Parts of plants observed were leaf, stem, petiole and fruit.The highest population of P. marginatus found in papaya plantation monocultures in the Matungkas Village with an average of 3669,00 mealybug, followed by the population in the Village of Dimembe 3205,33 mealybug and least found in the Laikit Village with 1379,22 mealybug, while the highest population of P. marginatus in papaya plantation polyculturefound in the Matungkas Village with an average 495,67 mealybug, then in the Laikit Village with an average 423,11 mealybug and the lowest population found in the Dimembe Village with an average 314,00 mealybug. Papaya plantation in Matungkas Village was the highest location attacked and the most parts of the plant that were attacked was leaves with a percentage of 93,33% on the location of monoculture plantations and 63,33% in polyculture plantations location.Keywords: Papaya, Paracoccus marginatus, Population and Percentage of attacks

Abstract

Pencemaran air menjadi masalah utama di banyak perairan Indonesia, termasuk Danau Tondano, yang mengalami pendangkalan dan pencemaran akibat aktivitas manusia, seperti pertanian dan kegiatan rumah tangga. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur kadar logam berat kadmium (Cd) dan seng (Zn) di Danau Tondano, yang memiliki potensi dampak negatif terhadap ekosistem dan kesehatan masyarakat sekitar. Desa Eris dipilih sebagai lokasi penelitian karena sebagian besar penduduknya menggunakan air dari danau untuk kegiatan sehari-hari. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk memastikan kadar Cd dan Zn berada di bawah nilai ambang batas yang aman, sesuai dengan Peraturan Pemerintah Republik Indonesia Nomor 22 Tahun 2021. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuantitatif dengan pendekatan survei deskriptif berbasis laboratorium. Subjek penelitian ini adalah air dari Danau Tondano, yang dianalisis di laboratorium menggunakan alat spektrofotometer. Hasil pemeriksaan menunjukkan bahwa kandungan kadmium (Cd) pada permukaan air Danau Tondano berkisar 0,00295 mg/l, sedangkan pada dasar air sekitar 0,00316 mg/l. Kandungan seng (Zn) pada permukaan air tercatat 0,0075 mg/l, dan pada dasar air 0,00758 mg/l. Dari hasil penelitian ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa meskipun kandungan kadmium (Cd) dan seng (Zn) telah terdeteksi di air Danau Tondano, kadar logam berat tersebut masih berada di bawah nilai ambang batas yang ditetapkan oleh pemerintah dan tidak melebihi baku mutu yang ada.

Abstract

Diare yaitu salah satu penyebab utama kematian anak di bawah usia 5 tahun di seluruh dunia. Diare merupakan bertambahnya frekuensi BAB banyaknya 3 kali atau lebih dalam 24 jam dimana bentuknya jauh lebih cair dan lembek dari bentuk biasanya. Tujuan penelitian ini supaya tahu terkait hubungan higiene perorangan dengan kejadian diare pada balita usia 1-5 tahun di Desa Lowian Kecamatan Maesaan Kabupaten Minahasa Selatan. Penelitian ini memakai metode non-eksperimen dengan rancangan cross sectional (studi potong lintang). Populasi yang dipakai yakni semua Kepala Keluarga (KK) yang tinggalnya di Jaga 1 (67), Jaga 2 (56), Jaga 3 (74), Jaga 4 (84) di Desa Lowian Kecamatan Maesaan. Pengambilan sampel total dipakai dalam investigasi ini. Data dikumpulkan melalui kuesioner. Hubungan antara variabel ditemukan menggunakan uji chi-square (α = 0,05, CI: 95%). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 38 (76,0%) penduduk Desa Lowian memiliki praktik mencuci tangan yang baik. Kebersihan kuku yang baik dilaporkan oleh 39 (78,0%) penduduk Desa Lowian. Hubungan antara kedua faktor tersebut signifikan secara statistik (p = 0,000). Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa kebersihan diri berhubungan dengan kejadian diare pada anak usia 1-5 tahun di Desa Lowian, Kecamatan Maesaan, Kabupaten Minahasa Selatan.
