Abstract

Abstract

Couples of childbearing age are the targets of the family planning program, from the number of PUS there are some who decide they want to delay pregnancy or do not want additional children but do not use family planning, this EFA group is referred to as unmet need. Low knowledge causes women to be afraid to use contraceptives because previously rumors of contraception circulating in the community, as a result of lack of knowledge of PUS in choosing good contraception, negatively impacted attitudes and behavior in planning their next pregnancy. have a known problem with “4 Too”(4-T) (too many, too young, too old, too close in birth spacing) which is very dangerous. This condition is supported by the presence of three late (3T), namely being late in recognizing signs, being late in reaching the service center and being late in getting help. Factors (4T and 3T) are social problems that also determine the health and safety of the labor process and the rapid birth rate of babies. The research method used was pre-experimental with one-group pretest posttest design. This study used 15 samples based on inclusion criteria, the sampling technique was purposive sampling. The results showed that there was a difference in knowledge of post-test mothers which was higher than the results of mothers' knowledge on pre-test using video media on IUD contraception.

Abstract

The authors conducted a systematic review of adolescents receiving a macronutrient (iron, zinc) intervention compared to a multi-micronutrient intervention to investigate their efficacy on nutritional status. Systematic searches were conducted in four database sources—Science Direct, ProQuest, EBSCO, and Google Scholar. A PICO worksheet was used to define keywords, including 1) Patient/Problem: Preconception for adolescent OR girl student, 2) Intervention: Iron and zinc OR Fe and Zn OR macronutrients, 3) Comparison: Multi-micronutrient, and 4) Outcome: Nutritional status. Inclusion criteria included female adolescents aged 9–24 years and English and Indonesian articles published from 2013 to 2020. The risk of bias was assessed by minimizing four potential sources of bias: sample selection, research design, control of confounding variables, and data collection techniques. Result: 10 relevant studies discussing iron, zinc, and multi-micronutrient supplements for adolescents were identified. Iron and zinc interventions are efficacious in preventing anemia, enhancing hemoglobin concentration, improving body mass index, and reducing the risk of low birth weight and preeclampsia for women in the preconception phase. The multi-micronutrient intervention has similar efficacy, but it can better affect the maternal immune response and the production of the human placental lactogen hormone, which ultimately increases placental weight and birth weight while lowering the risk of abortion and prematurity. Conclusion: Iron, zinc, and multi-micronutrient interventions play a pivotal role in improving the nutritional status of adolescents in preparing the preconception phase because they provide positive benefits and can prevent nutritional deficiencies before pregnancy, during pregnancy, and after delivery.

The findings highlighted the multi-faceted nature of preparing, implementing, evaluating related to critical thinking skills in the vocational school. The result of data analysis revealed that The English teacher's preparation for integrating critical thinking skills involves two essential stages: conducting diagnostic tests to assess fundamental abilities and learning styles, and designing a comprehensive lesson plan. Throughout the learning process, critical thinking is actively applied, beginning with trigger questions in introductory activities, followed by problem-solving and group discussions in core activities, and concluding with students providing conclusions or constructive criticism. Abstract

The pregnancy period is a crucial time for ensuring the health of the mother and fetus through the provision of balanced nutrition. However, nutritional issues such as anemia and chronic energy deficiency (CED) are still commonly found among pregnant women. The use of local nutritious foods, such as moringa leaves (Moringa oleifera), can be a potential solution to support nutritional needs. This community service activity aims to improve the knowledge and skills of pregnant women in preparing healthy menus and balanced eating patterns using moringa leaves. The activity was carried out through interactive lectures, coaching on menu preparation, cooking demonstrations of moringa leaf dishes, and evaluation through pre-tests and post-tests. The participants were pregnant women in the working area of the Wara Selatan Health Center in Palopo City, totaling 25 people. The results showed an increase in participants' nutritional knowledge, with an average pre-test score of 55 rising to 82 in the post-test. Participants were also able to prepare a balanced daily menu based on moringa leaves and produce several processed products, including moringa soup, moringa fritters, and moringa pudding. It can be concluded that the healthy menu coaching activity using local moringa leaves effectively improves the knowledge and skills of pregnant women regarding balanced nutrition. The use of local foods such as moringa leaves has the potential to support the improvement of maternal nutritional status in a simple, economical, and sustainable manner.

Abstract

Marriage is a physical and spiritual bond between a man and a woman to build a life together, fostering a family. West Sulawesi Province is the region with the highest rate of early marriage in Indonesia. According to the 2020 National Social and National Survey (SUSENAS) data, the rate of early marriage in West Sulawesi reached 10.05 percent. These figures demonstrate that early marriage remains prevalent in Indonesia. Purpose: This study aims to examine the relationship between socioeconomic and cultural factors and adolescent marriage in the working area of the Campalagian Health Center. Methods: An analytic survey with a cross-sectional design was used in this study, conducted in 2024. The population consisted of women of childbearing age (WUS) aged 15–25 years. A total of 87 participants were selected using purposive sampling and the Slovin formula. Data were collected through structured questionnaires and analyzed using the chi-square test with the assistance of SPSS software. Results: The findings showed a significant relationship between socioeconomic status and adolescent marriage (p = 0.000 < 0.05), and between cultural values and adolescent marriage (p = 0.000 < 0.05). Among respondents who married before the age of 20, most had lower socioeconomic backgrounds or were influenced by traditions such as early arranged marriages. Conclusion: There is a significant association between socioeconomic and cultural factors and adolescent marriage in the Campalagian Health Center area. The study recommends that the government strengthen education and advocacy programs to reduce early marriage practices and raise awareness of its long-term health and social impacts.
