Abstract

This study aims to describe the principal's leadership role in decision making, the process of making decisions by the principal, as well as the factors that support the principal's leadership role in decision making. This study uses a qualitative approach. The data sources used in this study were school principals, teachers and education staff. Analysis of the data used in this study through data reduction, data display, and data verification. The results of this study are (a) the role of the principal in the role of the decision-making process, namely the role of regulatory, democratic, and persuasive; (b) the decision-making process carried out by the principal, namely holding workshops, identifying problems, alternative problem solving, determination of the selected alternative and decision making; (c) factors that support the leadership of the school principal in making decisions, namely all parties are open to the problems faced by the school and provide freedom of opinion in making decisions.

Abstract

As well as knowing and analyzing the form of management accountability at SMP Santa Lucia Sei Rotan in managing the school's income and expenditure budget. This type of research uses descriptive qualitative methods and research methods use library research. The results of the study show that the budgeting process carried out by the management of SMP Santa Lucia Sei Rotan has not been able to optimize properly to improve the quality of existing human resources, and the process of channeling the budget has not touched the programs implemented to create students who have talents and qualified abilities in accordance with the vision, mission and school goals

Abstract

SMP Santa Lusia Sei Rattan is one of the secondary schools that has an in-house training supervision program and policy involving several education personnel, administrative staff, office boys and also several teachers, but the implementation of this supervision is not entirely successful, because this supervision is only ceremonial that spends the budget, but after supervision the teacher's attitude and actions are still not in accordance with the determination of procedures and standards  predefined work. As a result, there are still many teachers, as well as other educators who have attitudes that are not in accordance with what is expected, and the abilities of teachers do not develop, so that the supervision and improvement activities carried out are in vain. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive research method with a literature study method. The results of the study explain that what must be done by leaders in supervising in-house training, namely by setting the vision, mission and goals to supervise, organizing supervisory teams, planning and scheduling supervision, observing classes and teaching materials, providing support and coaching by leaders, coordinating for in-house training supervision and evaluating and monitoring programs that have been carried out at Santa Lusia Sei Junior High School Rattan. Leaders should set vision, mission, and goals for the in-house training supervision they will supervise, as well as organize the supervisory team, plan and schedule supervision, observe classes and teaching materials, offer support and coaching to leaders, coordinate in-house training supervision, and evaluate and monitor programs that have been implemented at Santa Lusia Sei Rattan Junior High School.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze: 1) The Leadership Style of the Principal of SMP Santa Lucia Sei Rotan 2) Efforts to Increase the Professionalism of Middle School Teachers of Santa Lucia Sei Rotan, 3) Supporting and Inhibiting Factors of the Principal's Leadership Style in Increasing the Professionalism of SMP Santa Lucia Sei Rotan Teachers. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach. Research data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews and documentation. The results of the study reveal three findings, namely: 1) The Principal of SMP Santa Lucia Sei Rotan leads and fosters teachers through democratic means, 2) Efforts to Increase the Professionalism of Teachers of SMP Santa Lucia Sei Rotan, namely through training, direction and coaching of teachers teachers, 3) There are several factors that support and hinder the leadership style of the principal of SMP Santa Lucia Sei Rotan, namely the lack of obedience of teachers in complying with regulations so that it triggers inhibition while the supporting factors that can be used as a reference in improving leadership style are the frequent trainings or seminars held to improve teacher professionalism.

Abstract

This study discusses the assessment of teacher performance to test the professionalism of educators at Santa Lucia Sei Rotan Elementary School. The background of this study is the requirement of a professional teacher in all subjects at all levels of education. Especially with the regulations of the Teacher and Lecturer Constitution, as well as the certification of educators. So to be able to know the professionalism of teachers carry out teacher performance assessments which include four basic components, namely pedagogic, personality, social, and professional. This research is intended to answer the following problems: (1) How is teacher performance assessed at Santa Lucia Sei Rotan Elementary School?, (2) What efforts should be made by school principals to improve teacher professionalism at Santa Lucia Sei Rotan Elementary School?. This research is a type of field research. Therefore the objects studied in schools are able to provide information about research studies. In order for this research to run well, research methods require planning steps that are systematic and in accordance with scientific principles. In addition, intensive qualitative research was carried out, participating in recording all data and then analyzing the data obtained during the research. This study shows that: (1). Teacher performance can be known by carrying out teacher performance assessments which make an activity to foster and develop professional teachers who from teachers, by teachers, for teachers. The principal assesses the implementation of learning including pre-learning (checking class readiness and apperception), core activities (mastery of material, learning strategies, use of media/sources, assessment of learning processes and outcomes, use of language), and closing (reflection, summary and follow-up) (2) Efforts by school principals to improve teacher professionalism by providing (a) guidance to teachers in preparing lesson plans, (b) monitoring teachers in carrying out learning, (c) supervising the running of educational activity programs, (d) checking condition and integrity of school facilities as supporting student achievement, (e) evaluating through briefings and educational program meetings

Abstract

This study aims to develop the implementation of an accreditation-based educational quality assurance system at SMP Santa Lucia Sei Rotan. The samples used in this study were observations, interviews, and documentation conducted by teachers of SMP Santa Lucia Sei Rotan. The research method used is research and development using descriptive qualitative field research. The results of the research are in the form of a module for implementing an accreditation-based education quality assurance system at SMP Santa Lucia Sei Rotan. The assessment results from colleagues obtained 87.25% in the good category. The results of the module design validation by the design experts were 94.5% with very good criteria. The results of the validation of teaching materials by material experts were 97.33% with very good criteria.
