Abstract

This research discusses the consumption patterns of corn farming households in Indonesia which are influenced by economic and social factors. This study aims to examine consumption expenditure based on income, number of family members, education, age, and differences in place of residence. The research method used was quantitative with multiple linear regression statistical analysis, using primary data from 86 corn farming households. The research results show that income is the biggest factor influencing household consumption of corn farmers. Factors such as income, number of family members and education of the head of the family have a positive and significant effect on consumption patterns. Although age does not have a significant effect, this research provides important insights into the consumption behaviour of corn farmers in Indonesia, including the importance of wise consumption expenditure management to improve the welfare of farming households. These findings show that income, education, and family size play a key role in shaping consumption habits. This study also highlights how economic factors influence people's consumption patterns in various communities, both farmers and urban residents, and the importance of understanding these factors in planning policies that support the welfare of society as a whole. The contribution of this research is expected to bridge the results of previous studies with policy development, emphasizing the need for targeted programs considering income, family size, education, and residence location to improve the welfare of corn farming households in Indonesia.

Abstract

The Human Development Index (HDI) should be placed as the first and main priority in development. This is because humans are the basic capital in other developments. This research aims to determine the factors that influence HDI using macroeconomic variables with case studies of 34 provinces in Indonesia. The data used is quantitative data with longitudinal or panel dimensions. The research method implemented is the fixed effect model (FEM). The research results simultaneously show that all independent variables in the model have a simultaneous and significant effect on HDI. Partially, significant variables include early marriage, family expenditure per capita, domestic investment, unemployment and poverty. It is important for future research to use other research methods to complement the literature.

Abstract

This article discusses the Solow-Romet theory of economic growth, aiming to explain the relationship between household poverty in the Province of Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta (DIY) through investments in education, quality of life improvement, and health. The study examines various influence variables, including Non-Formal Education (XNF), Educational Scholarships (XBS), Protein Consumption (PK), Disease Prevention Costs (XL), Calorie Consumption (IK)), Health Insurance Variables (XAS ), and Food Security (XT) in assessing the poverty status of households in the Special Region of Yogyakarta in 2021. The estimation model employs a logit mode approach, using data from Susenas (National Socioeconomic) data for the Special Province of Yogyakarta, with a sample size of 4044 households. The findings of this study indicate that investments in non-formal education, school fees, and educational scholarships do not significantly affect family poverty status. However, increased investment in quality of life (such as calorie consumption) and health (including disease prevention and health insurance spending) will affect the poverty status of households in the Special Province of Yogyakarta in 2021.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the influence of economic growth, corruption perception index, trade openness, market size, and financial development on foreign direct investment (FDI) in six ASEAN countries. Using the Seemingly Unrelated Regression (SUR) method and secondary data from the World Bank and Transparency International, this research combines cross section and time series data to provide a comprehensive view. The results of this research show that the corruption perception index and trade openness variables have a significant positive influence on foreign direct investment to ASEAN countries. The financial development variable has a negative and significant effect on foreign direct investment to ASEAN countries. These findings emphasize the importance of these factors in determining the direction and volume of foreign investment. This research provides an important contribution to understanding the dynamics of foreign investment in the ASEAN region and highlights the importance of efforts to increase the corruption perception index and trade openness to spur economic growth through foreign investment flows. The implications of these findings can be a policy basis for governments and stakeholders in ASEAN in increasing the attractiveness of foreign investment.
