Abstract

Writing skill is one of the difficult skills for students, especially in learning to write short story texts. The teacher's obstacle in learning to write short story texts is the less optimal use of learning media. Storyboard media is present as an alternative to overcome the problems that exist in learning to write short story texts which is the goal of this research. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. The method used is a case study method with interview techniques. Storyboard media is suitable for learning to write short stories because in this media the emphasis is on elaboration, prediction or estimation, generating ideas, and sequencing. The storyboard media begins by making several illustrative images, which are then developed into a paragraph so that it becomes a complete story in a short story.

Abstract

The development of Information Communication and Technology (ICT) considerably influences all aspects of human life, including education. With the development of ICT, the lecturer must also be able to follow its development by adapting ICT into the learning process, for example in learning media. In Indonesia, the application of ICT as a learning media is the newest trend. The research in this paper aims to discover the students’ perceptions regarding the use of Quizizz as English learning media. The research design is survey research. The research subject involved 15 Agribusiness students at Universitas Muhadi Setiabudi. The questionnaire in the form of Google Forms is used to process the data collection and subsequently analyzed by using the Likert Scale. The research result indicates that students’ perception of the use of Quizizz is highly positive with a questionnaire result of 750. It means they strongly agree that Quizizz is highly useful and suitable to use as a learning medium in English subjects. In addition, they agree that Quizizz can create a fun English learning atmosphere.

Abstract

Fokus kajian ini terletak pada penerapan media Putar Roda sebagai media alternatif dalampembelajaran menulis puisi. Kemampuan peserta didik dalam menulis puisi masih kurang. Hal inidisebabkan adanya anggapan bahwa keterampilan menulis puisi kurang penting dibandingkandengan pelajaran kebahasaan lainnya. Adapun tujuan kajian ini adalah untuk (1) penerapan mediaPutar Roda, pembelajaran menulis puisi akan lebih efektif untuk merangsang imajinasi peserta didikdalam kegiatan menulis puisi dan (2) dampak penerapan media pembelajaran Putar Roda padakegiatan menulis puisi dengan kajian filsafat ilmu epistemologi. Metode kajian ini menggunakanstudi empiris. Hasil kajian ini adalah penerapan media Putar Roda pada peserta didik denganlangkah-langkah dalam menggunakannya antara lain, menyiapkan media Putar Roda yang telahdiberi kata kunci, peserta didik diberi satu kesempatan untuk memutar media Putar Roda, pesertadidik mendapatkan kata kunci untuk dijadikan acuan dalam menulis puisi. Setelah itu kata kuncitersebut digunakan untuk landasan menulis puisi. Peserta didik akan terarah dan fokus pada katakunci tersebut. Selain itu, nilai KI-2 menjadi terlaksana karena peserta didik responsif dengan carapendidik menggunakan media, peserta didik merespon dengan cara memperhatikan danmenggunakan media tersebut. Peserta didik mendapat kata kunci dengan acuan tersebut membuatpeserta didik pro-aktif dalam kegiatan menulis puisi di kelas
