Abstract

The purpose of the study is to obtain data on whether the characteristics of the resulting learning module have met valid and practical criteria. The type of research used is development research, which is a research method used to produce products / modify products, namely inquiry-based learning modules. The development model used is the 4-D model, namely: define, design, develop, and dissemination and is only carried out until the develop stage. Data collection techniques are carried out through questionnaires, observations and interviews. Based on research that has been done, it is known that the inquiry-based learning module on the marriage material that has been produced is very valid by showing the calculated value of the Aiken index coefficient of 82 through validation tests by 3 validators. The results of the practicality test through the student response questionnaire are categorized as very practical with an assessment percentage of 92.08%.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to test students' initial understanding of mathematical concepts. The type of research conducted belongs to quasi-experimental research (quasi-experimental) and this research involves two classes, namely the experimental class which will receive treatment by applying the true or false statement learning model and the control class using conventional learning. The test results show that: (1) There are differences in the results of the conceptual understanding tests between students who are taught by learning strategies of true or false statements and conventional learning models. This difference indicates that the conceptual understanding of students who are taught with a true or false statement learning strategy is higher than the conceptual understanding of students who are taught conventionally. (2) There are differences in the results of conceptual understanding tests between students who are taught with true or false statements learning strategies and conventional learning models. This difference indicates that the conceptual understanding of students who have high prior knowledge who are taught with a true or false statement learning strategy is higher than the conceptual understanding of students who have high prior knowledge who are taught conventionally. (3) There are differences in the results of conceptual understanding tests between students who are taught by learning strategies of true or false statements and conventional learning models. This difference indicates that the conceptual understanding of students who have low prior knowledge who are taught with true or false statements learning strategies is higher than the conceptual understanding of students who have low prior knowledge who are taught conventionally. (4) There is no interaction between learning models and prior knowledge in influencing students' understanding of grade VIII SMPN 2 Koto Besar concepts.

Abstract

Abstract

The relationship between spirituality and mental health is a vital interdisciplinary field that bridges medicine, psychology, theology, and philosophy. This field explores how beliefs, values, practices, and transcendent experiences influence psychological well-being to complement a holistic approach to mental health that meets human needs. This study aims to develop and conduct a preliminary validity test of a brief Spiritual Assessment module for integration into psychological and psychiatric nursing practice in Indonesia. The module is designed to explore patients’ beliefs, practices, and spiritual communities, and to identify the role of spirituality as a source of strength or conflict. The study employed a structured and systematic literature review (SLR) to identify, evaluate, and synthesize relevant empirical evidence, yielding comprehensive and objective conclusions based on critical review to provide a strong, transparent, replicable, and subjectively unbiased theoretical foundation. First, empirical evidence establishes a significant positive correlation between spiritual engagement and reduced depression, anxiety, and stress as valid protective factors. Second, psychological mechanisms identify spirituality as a meaning-making system that fosters resilience, hope, and gratitude, and enhances self-agency through self-awareness and self-efficacy. Third, clinical applications emphasize the integration of spirituality into psychotherapy and biological psychiatry to improve adherence and coping. Fourth, a comprehensive review affirms the transformative nature of spirituality in fostering sustainable well-being beyond pharmacological interventions. This study concludes that there is strong empirical evidence demonstrating a positive correlation between spirituality and better mental health. These positive effects are mediated by specific psychological mechanisms such as meaning-making and increased resilience. The integration of spirituality into clinical practice is essential for effective holistic care. Spirituality plays a sustained, transformative role in supporting overall mental health through a holistic approach

Abstract

Islamic boarding schools (pondok pesantren) are Islamic educational institutions that play a strategic role in shaping the character and behavior of the younger generation. As centers of civilization, these schools focus not only on intellectual and spiritual development but also on physical health as the foundation for students’ productivity. However, a major challenge arises from the persistently high prevalence of smoking in educational settings, including Islamic boarding schools, which is often viewed as part of a specific social culture The phenomenon of smoking among students contradicts the principles of Hifzu al-Nafs (preserving life) and Hifzu al-Maal (preserving wealth) within the maqashid al-sharia. Exposure to secondhand smoke not only adversely affects respiratory health but has also been empirically proven to reduce students’ concentration levels and memory retention. If left unchecked, this will hinder the pesantren’s vision of producing a productive and competitive “golden generation” for the future. Efforts to prevent smoking have so far often been limited to instructional guidance or top-down administrative bans. In reality, Islamic boarding schools possess a far more powerful tool: Islamic spiritual and moral values. Internalizing these values through a persuasive approach that resonates with the students’ inner selves is believed to foster self-awareness and the will to avoid smoking. Therefore, a comprehensive anti-smoking dissemination strategy is needed. This dissemination should not merely involve sharing medical information but should also integrate religious principles, the leadership of religious figures (Kyai), and the role of peer counselors. Under the title “Internalization of Islamic Spiritual Values in Anti-Smoking Dissemination Campaigns in Islamic Boarding Schools,” this research/activity aims to formulate a smoking prevention model based on the students’ identity, in order to create a healthy, clean boarding school environment that fully supports the students’ productivity in worship and the pursuit of knowledge
