Abstract

One of learning media which is using in Problem-based learning that can improve students' conceptual understanding ability is GeoGebra. This study aims to: 1) describe the students' understanding of the concepts of SMA Negeri 1 Oheo. 2) determine the effect of problem-based learning assisted by the GeoGebra application on students' conceptual understanding at SMAN 1 Oheo. This research is pre-experimental research. The sampling technique uses simple random sampling. Class XI MIA as a research class. The data collection technique consists of students' conceptual understanding tests seen from the indicators explaining, understanding and concluding, as well as teacher observation sheets. The results of this study indicate that: 1) Students' conceptual understanding at SMAN 1 Oheo is in the high category where indicators of students being able to explain abstract concepts into a model have a 100% presentation, indicators of students being able to recognize and understand the main idea of a communication have a presentation 91.30%, and the student's indicator of being able to conclude from something that is already known material has an achievement of 78.26. 2) There is an effect of problem-based learning assisted by the GeoGebra application on students' understanding of concepts at SMAN 1 Oheo

Abstract

Creative thinking abilities are developed through divergent thinking in mathematics learning. This research aims to explore junior high school students' mathematical creative thinking abilities in solving geometric problems, specifically in terms of their overall mathematical abilities. This study is a qualitative descriptive research project. The subjects were 27 eighth-grade students from a state middle school in Loghia District. Data were collected using tests and interviews. The findings indicate that junior high school students with high mathematical abilities demonstrated creative thinking in solving geometric problems. In contrast, students with moderate and low mathematical abilities showed less creative thinking, particularly when answering questions about surface area and volume. Specifically, there were 3 students identified as creative, 4 students as less creative, and 20 students as not creative. Overall, most junior high school students were not creative in their approach to solving geometric problems. They struggled to demonstrate indicators of creative mathematical thinking, such as fluency, flexibility, and novelty.

Abstract

Implementation is an action or implementation of something that has been prepared carefully. What will be implemented in this study is the mathematical concept contained in traditional text-press games in the learning process. The purpose of conducting this research is to to know the increase in mathematics learning outcomes for class VII students at MTsN 2 Konawe Selatan by implementing mathematical concepts in traditional text-press games in the learning process. The research was conducted in class VII B MTsN 2 Konawe Selatan which was taken using purposive sampling with the consideration that there were many students who had played tek-tekan. Data collection methods consist of observation, and tests. Test scores derived from students' pre-test and post look for the value of the difference or N-Gain then do a hypothesis test using one sample t-test. The results of this study indicate that there is an increase in students' mathematics learning outcomes before and after the implementation of mathematical concepts in traditional text-press games in the material learning process compared to the results of hypothesis testing, namely and with a Sig (2-tailed) value of. In addition, from the N-Gain value it is known that there was an increase in the high category by 6 students (33.33%), the medium category by 9 students (50%), and the low category by 3 students (16.66%).

Abstract

The ability to think creatively is one of the important skills that needs to be developed in learning mathematics. This research aims to see that the Open-Ended Problem Based Learning (Open-Ended PBL) model can help improve students' creative mathematical thinking abilities. Using a quasi-experimental approach, research was conducted on class VII students at one of the state junior high schools in Central Buton Regency. Two classes were chosen randomly, namely one as an experimental group, namely class VII-B, which received learning using the Open-Ended PBL model, and the other as a control group, namely class VII-A, with conventional learning. After the learning process, students' creative thinking abilities are analyzed using statistical tests, starting with normality and homogeneity tests as well as the independent sample t-test. The results show that students taught with the Open-Ended PBL model experienced significant improvement, with an average N-gain of 0.42 and a significance value of 0.00. A p-value of less than 0.05 is evidence that the application of the Open-Ended PBL model has a significant influence on increasing students' creative mathematical thinking abilities. These findings show that the Open-Ended PBL approach not only helps students understand mathematics more deeply, but also encourages them to think more openly and creatively. This model can be a strategic choice for teachers in creating more meaningful mathematics learning.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan literasi statistik ditinjau dari pengetahuan dasar matematika. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitatif dengan pendekatan deskriptif. Populasi dalam penelitian ini seluruh siswa kelas IX yang berjumlah 264 siswa dari 9 kelas. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik cluster random sampling dengan menggunakan rumus Slovin, diperoleh sampel 65 siswa dari 3 kelas. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui tes pilihan ganda untuk mengukur pengetahun dasar matematika dan tes essay untuk mengukur kemampuan literasi statistik siswa. Hasil penelitian ini adalah siswa dengan pengetahuan dasar matematika tinggi mampu mencapai indikator menyajikan data dan menginterpretasikan data, siswa dengan pengetahuan dasar matematika sedangĀ  mampu mencapai indikator menginterpretasikan data, siswa dengan pengetahuan dasar matematika rendah belum mampu mencapai semua indikator kemampuan literasi statistik.
