Abstract

Nursing services as an integral part of healthcare services contribute significantly to determining the quality of care in hospitals. One factor that can influence resilience is spirituality. The aspect of spirituality can help an individual find meaning in life and accept their conditions, thereby providing a positive response to changes occurring within the individual. The method used in this study is quantitative, with a descriptive correlational research design using a cross-sectional approach. The sample consisted of 91 nurses selected through simple random sampling. The research instruments used were the DSES questionnaire and the Resilience Scale. Results: The majority of nurses had high spiritual status, with 75 nurses (82.4%), and high resilience, with 46 nurses (50.5%). The Kendall Tau C correlation test results showed a p-value of 0.017 (p < 0.05), indicating a significant relationship between spiritual status and nurse resilience. It can be concluded that nurses with high spiritual status will also have high resilience. It is recommended for nurses to continually develop their spiritual lives to maintain good resilience.

Abstract

Introduction and Methods Iron deficiency anemia in pregnant women can contribute to high maternal and infant mortality rates. The high prevalence of anemia among pregnant women may be influenced by their motivation and adherence to consuming iron supplements. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between motivation and adherence in consuming iron tablets among pregnant women at Johar Baru Health Center, Central Jakarta. A descriptive correlational quantitative design was used with a cross-sectional approach. Data collected through questionnaires and analyzed using univariate and bivariate analysis. The Kendall’s Tau B statistical test was employed. The sample size was determined using the Slovin formula, resulting in 52 respondents. Results The univariate analysis showed the following respondent characteristics: aged 20–35 years (90.4%), high school to college education level (84.6%), in the second and third trimesters of pregnancy (100%), and multigravida (63.5%). Most respondents had high motivation to consume iron supplements (71.2%) and a good level of adherence (67.3%). The Kendall’s Tau B test showed a p-value < 0.05, indicating a significant relationship between motivation and adherence to iron tablet consumption among pregnant women. Conclusion and Recommendation Motivation plays a crucial role in improving adherence to iron tablet consumption among pregnant women. It is recommended to provide continuous education about the importance of iron supplementation during pregnancy. Contribution to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) This study aims to explore the factors associated with iron tablet consumption among pregnant women. The article contributes to the third SDG goal: ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all ages. Specifically, it supports target 3.1: by 2030, reduce the global maternal mortality ratio to less than 70 per 100,000 live births.

Abstract

Kata Kunci: Screening Dini, UKS, PHBS, Siswa Sekolah Dasar, Kesehatan Anak  ABSTRACT The School Health Unit (UKS) is a promotive and preventive program implemented in schools to improve the health status of students. One of its services is health screening, aimed at the early detection of health problems among students. This activity was carried out in five elementary schools under the jurisdiction of the Johar Baru Community Health Center, Central Jakarta, from March 5 to 7, 2024. This study employed a descriptive quantitative method with a total sampling technique involving 523 students from grades 4 to 6. The screening was conducted in two stages: initial data collection and direct examinations, including assessments of personal hygiene, oral health, nutritional status, vision, hearing, and signs of anemia. Data were analyzed descriptively and further tested using the Chi-Square (χ²) statistical test. Results showed that 70% of students had dirty/long fingernails, 60% experienced oral health problems, 15.1% had vision impairment, 8% were suspected of anemia, and 14% had abnormal nutritional status. Chi-Square analysis indicated a significant association between gender and the incidence of dental caries (χ² = 4.61; df = 1; p = 0.032), but no significant association with anemia (χ² = 1.80; df = 1; p = 0.179). In conclusion, many students require more attention regarding personal hygiene and general health. Sustainable educational interventions and support from teachers, parents, and cross-sector collaboration with health centers are essential to foster clean and healthy living behaviors in schools. Keywords: Early Screening, School Health Unit, Personal Hygiene, Elementary Students, Child Health

Abstract

The age of early menarche continues to increase in various places anywhere in Indonesia, especially in big cities, which can be caused by an increase in the frequency of junk food consumption.  Consumption of junk food is favored by people of all ages, including children and adolescents.  Nutritional intake by consuming junk food with too much frequency can be the cause of early menarche.  In addition, junk food can increase obesity and cardiovascular disease, it can also increase the risk of breast cancer and endometrial cancer.          The research was conducted at SDN Kampung Melayu 01, East Jakarta by involving students in grades 4-6 at SDN Kampung Melayu 01, East Jakarta.  The research method used a correlative descriptive quantitative design with a cross-sectional approach.  The sample in this study involved 108 female students with total sampling technique.  The instruments used were menarche status questionnaire and Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ).           The results of the Kendal's Tau C correlation test obtained a p-value of 0.243 (> 0.05) which shows there is no significant relationship between junk food consumption and early menarche in teenage girls at SDN Kampung Melayu 01, East Jakarta.            Suggestions for teenage girls to maintain a balanced diet and reduce the consumption of junk food which has an impact on early menarche and health by maintaining a nutritious diet.  Educational institutions can use existing media in schools to convey information on the impact of consuming junk food.
