Abstract

Bottlenecks are a major cause of productivity decline in manufacturing systems. In the PDAM metal box industry at PT. MNO, the production process frequently encounters constraints that reduce output. This study employed discrete event simulation using ProModel software. The research stages included field observation, process time data collection, data distribution analysis with Stat::Fit, and model validation through Chi-Square and Mann-Whitney tests. The simulation revealed a significant bottleneck in the assembly workstation, with utilization reaching 93.64%, while production output was limited to 22 units during a 7-hour working shift. In contrast, the finishing station experienced idle time. An improvement scenario involving the addition of one workstation and one operator in the assembly and finishing processes is recommended to reduce production flow imbalances. This study confirms the effectiveness of discrete event simulation as an analytical tool for production system optimization and highlights opportunities for further development through digital twin integration and metaheuristic optimization

Abstract

Pandemi covid-19 pada saat ini telah banyak mengakibatkan banyak sektor ekonomi mengalami penurunan penjualan. Sektor yang terdampak negatif dari Covid-19 salah satunya merupakan UMKM yang bergerak pada bidang kuliner. UMKM X adalahUMKM yang bergerak pada bidang kuliner dengan menjual produk utama berupa bubur ayam. UMKM X terdampak covid-19 sehingga mengalami penurunan penjualan dari tahun ketahun. Tujuan dari penelitian ini ialah mengetahui variable-variable Marketing Mix 4p (Price, Promotion, Product, dan Place) apa saja yang dapat mempengaruhi penjualan produk sehingga bisa menjadi dasar pengambilan keputusan untuk meningkatkan penjualan UMKM X. Metode yang digunakan terdiri dari analisis regresi linier berganda, uji simultan dan uji parsial. Output atau Hasil dari penelitian didapatkan semua variable dari Marketing Mix mempengaruhi tingkat penjualan UMKM X terutama variable promosi dan variable place. Saran untuk UMKM X adalah lebih berfokus mengembangkan strategi promosi dan memperbaiki suasana tempat makan di UMKM X, seperti melakukan digitalisasi pemesanan produk dan membuat suasana tempat makan lebih nyaman, bersih dan tertata rapi.

Abstract

The decline of petroleum reserves and environmental issues from petroleum-based lubricants have driven interest in biolubricants. Jatropha curcas L. oil is a promising candidate due to its availability and non-edible nature, but it lacks sufficient oxidative stability and thermal performance. This study aims to improve jatropha oil quality through in situ epoxidation. The research included oil extraction, initial chemical analysis (acid value, moisture, saponification value, iodine value), epoxidation with varied reactant ratios and reaction times, and post-modification tests of viscosity and flash point. Results indicated that oil yield from dehulled seeds was higher (60%) than hulled seeds (25%). Epoxidation improved viscosity from 2.39 cSt to 34.2 cSt at 40°C and raised the flash point from 109°C to 270°C. These enhancements demonstrate improved physicochemical properties, making epoxidized jatropha oil a potential eco-friendly lubricant comparable to modern synthetic lubricants.
