Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine the application of the reading guide strategy in improving students' ability to understanding the content of discourse texts in Indonesian language subjects in class IV of SD Negeri 0119 Banjar Raja. The research used is PTK research, namely classroom action research. The subject of this research is SD Negeri 0119 Banjar Raja and the object of this research is class IV with a total of 21 students. There are two data sources that researchers use, namely primary data sources and secondary data sources. . Primary data sources are data taken directly from the research object, namely class IV students and teachers. This primary data source comes from field data obtained from observations and interviews. Secondary data sources are data taken in the form of documents, such as books, books, dictionaries and other literature related to skills in understanding the content of discourse texts. There are three cycles in the design of this research cycle, namely Pre-Cycle, Cycle I and Cycle II. Based on the results of the research carried out by the author, it can be concluded that the application of the reading guide strategy in improving the ability to understand the content of discourse texts in class IV Indonesian language subjects at SD Negeri 0119 Banjar Raja, Barumun District, Padang Lawas Regency, namely in the pre-cycle only 2 students or 9.52 % who have the category "very good" 4 students or 19.05%, "good", 8 students or 38.10%, "fair", 6 students or 28.57%, "poor", 1 student or 4.76 % "very poor", while students' ability to understand the content of cycle I discourse texts has begun to increase, namely 4 students or 19.05% who have the "very good" category, 6 students or 28.57%, "good", 10 students or 47 .62%, "sufficient", 1 student or 4.76%, "poor", no students "very poor", and students' ability to understand the contents of cycle II discourse texts has increased, namely 11 students or 52.38%, which has a "very good" category, 9 students or 42.86%, in the "good" category, 1 student in the "fair" category, no students in the "Poor" category, no students in the "very poor" category. So it can be concluded that the reading guide strategy can improve the ability to understand the content of discourse texts in class IV Indonesian at SD Negeri 0119 Banjar Raja, Barumun District, Padang Lawas Regency.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the improvement in speaking skills of fifth grade students at SD Negeri 0501 Hutanopan using the sociodrama method. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research which consists of 2 cycles, each cycle consisting of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. This research was carried out in class V of SD Negeri 0501 Hutanopan. The data sources in this research were divided into two, namely (1) primary data, namely students of class V of SD Negeri 0501 Hutanopan, (2) secondary data, namely teachers of class V of SD Negeri 0501 Hutanopan. Data collection techniques in this research were obtained through observation, written tests and documentation. The data analysis technique in this research is a qualitative data analysis technique. Based on the results of the research carried out by the author, it can be concluded that the speaking skills of Class V Students of SD Negeri 0501 Hutanopan are low, with only 9 students or 31.03% whose speaking skills are good, while 20 students or 68.97% whose speaking skills are not good. Therefore, researchers try to apply the sociodrama learning model, with the hope that students' speaking skills can be better. Improving students' speaking skills through the sociodrama method for class V of SD Negeri 0501 Hutanopan while in cycle I, the results of observations of students' speaking skills have begun to increase, namely 20 students have 68.97% good speaking skills, while the remaining 9 students have 31 or 31.03% more skills. their speaking skills are not good, and the speaking skills of cycle II students with the application of the sociodrama learning model are 27 students or 93.10% whose speaking skills are good, while the remaining 2 students or 6.90% of their speaking skills are not good, it can be concluded that with the learning model Sociodrama can improve the speaking skills of fifth grade students at SD Negeri 0501 Hutanopan.

Abstract

This research aims to: (1) Find out the factors of learning difficulties experienced by students. (2) the teacher's efforts to overcome students' learning difficulties. This research is field research using a qualitative approach, namely research that produces data in the form of written or spoken words from the people studied. The subjects in this research were class III students at SD Negeri 0118 Sibuhuan Julu, totaling 27 students of whom 15 men and 12 women. Data collection techniques in this research used interview, observation and documentation techniques. The data analysis technique in this research does not use numbers but instead uses descriptions in the final results. The results of this research are an analysis of (1) Factors of learning difficulties, namely, internal factors and external factors, internal factors originating from the students themselves including: intelligence, motivation, talents and student interests. Meanwhile, students' external factors include: family factors, school environment and social environment. (2) The efforts made by the teacher are that the teacher must involve students in learning activities, get students used to taking notes, establish good communication between teachers and students, conduct group learning to be more enthusiastic in the learning process, direct students so they are not stressed and provide pleasant learning atmosphere. That way students will be active in the learning process.
