Abstract

Social reality is a reality that occurs in society, both from the positive and negative sides. This research aims to examine images of social reality in the short story collection Rumah Tepi Kali by Dedy Vansophi. So the method used in this research was descriptive qualitative. Because it is in the form of words or sentences found in short stories using a literary sociology approach, ascience that studies humans and society. Data collection consisting of words or sentences in the short story was taken using the techique of reading data, clarifying, analyzing and concluding. The results show that the social reality in the short story collection Rumah Tepi Kali by Dedy Vansophi, is in the form of: (i) poverty, (ii) care, (iii) religious, (iv) crime. Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the application of the Problem Based Learning model to improve the writing skills of short story texts to class XI Ma Plus Wali Songo Madiun students in the 2022/2023 Academic Year. The background of this Classroom Action Research (CAR) is the low level of student writing skills, especially short story text. The low skills to write short story texts are caused by student learning interest in writing low, as well as lack of learning motivation. To improve student short story text skills, efforts made using the Problem Based Learning learning model. With PBL students can feel the benefits of learning because the problems that are resolved are directly associated with real life. This can increase student motivation and interest in the material being studied. This classroom action research was conducted at Ma Wali Songo Madiun, with class XI Mia subjects, consisting of 40 students, 17 male students and 23 female students. This classroom action research was carried out in three cycles. Each cycle there are four stages consisting of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. Meanwhile, for data collection techniques in this study in the form of tests and observation sheets. The results show that the use of the Problem Based Learning model can improve the writing skills of the short story text of class XI saince MA Plus Wali Songo. The percentage of completeness in cycle I is 50%cycle II 72.5%, and cycle III 97.5%.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to analyze, identify, and describe ecofeminism in the novel Perempuan Laut based on ecofeminism theory. In popular ecofeminism theory, women’s existence can be seen from three perspectives, natural ecofeminism, spiritual ecofeminism, and socialist ecofeminism. The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative. Data collection techniques are done by note-taking and document analysis, while the data analysis technique used is descriptive analysis. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that in the novel Perempuan Laut by Usman Arrumy there are three forms of ecofeminism, namely: (1) natural ecofeminism, including Lare’s struggle since childhood, women’s persistence, caring for the environment and the ability to produce coffee; (2) spiritual ecofeminism, including natural works and women’s works alike, and describing how she cares for the island; and (3) socialist ecofeminism, including respecting fellow human beings, maintaining skills, discrimination, and rejecting the logic of discrimination or male domination.
