Abstract

Caulerpa lentillifera is widely known to have pharmacological benefits based on a variety of research findings. The study aims to analyze the potential immunostimulant extract of ethanol Caulerpa lentillifera in blood profiles in vivo. The methods carried out included extraction of Caulerpa lentillifera ethanol, observation of the hematological profile of erythrocytes, leukocytes and micronucleus and phagocytosis activity in the Balb/c scavengers administered orally with a dose of 25, 50, 100, 150 mg/kg BW for one week. The results obtained that Caulerpa lentillifera ethanol extract showed a significant increase in the number of leukocytes at each treatment dose. The number of erythrocytes also increased but did not show any significance. The activity of phagocytosis also showed a significant increase with the highest percentage of the treatment dose of 100 mg/kg BW. The results of the micronuclei analysis showed no difference. Based on the results of this study showed an increase in the number of erythrocytes leukocytes as well as phagocytosis indicated the occurrence of an increased immune system. It can be concluded that Caulerpa lentillifera is also able to boost the immune system or as an immunostimulant through increased blood profile as well as phagocytosis activity in vivo.

Abstract

Study aims to analyze the genotoxic potential of glyphosate-based herbicide on common carp (Cyprinus carpio L) using Micronucleus and hematological assay. The concentration of Glyphosate-based herbicide in this study was 0 ppm, 1.35 ppm, 1.8 ppm, 2.4 ppm, 3.2 ppm, 4.2 ppm, 6.5 ppm, and 8.7 ppm. Administration of herbicide base on modification of published methods with 96 hours of exposure. This research result has shown that the average number of micronuclei was increased simultaneously with increasing the concentration of herbicide exposure. There are also other types of cell nucleus abnormalities, namely: blebbed, lobed, notched, and binuclear. In the treatment of 0 ppm of herbicide shown blebbed nuclei are 8 ‰, lobed nuclei are 6.6 ‰, notched nuclei are 10 ‰, binuclei is 4 ‰. From the research results, it can be concluded that the LC50-96 hours exposure of the herbicide isopropylamine glyphosate in carp (Cyprinus carpio L.) was obtained at a concentration of 8.57 ppm. Based on the evaluation on hematology, it was found that there was a decrease in the number of erythrocytes, hematocrit, and hemoglobin of fish blood, whereas the number of leukocytes, micronuclei, and other abnormal micronuclei showed an increase along with the increase in the dose of exposure to the herbicide isopropylamine glyphosate, which indicates a genotoxic effect.

Abstract

In intensive shrimp farming systems, apart from feed, the presence of plankton is an important factor in shrimp farming as a tropic level in waters where the main producers in the waters are phytoplankton. The nature of plankton in the waters is not only beneficial but also detrimental. The condition of a waters will also affect the pattern of distribution or distribution of plankton both horizontally and vertically, so that it will affect the abundance of plankton which in turn will affect the value of primary productivity. This study aims to determine the ratio of plankton abundance and water conditions to the growth performance of vaname shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) organisms. The method used in this research is descriptive using the sampling method. The analysis was carried out in the form of abundance of plankton species and water physico-chemical parameters (temperature, pH, salinity, DO, ammonia, nitrate and nitrite). The results obtained found 5 classes of plankton (chlorophyta, cyanophyta, diatoms, dinoflagellate, zooplankton) with varying abundances where the highest abundance was found in classes and cyanophyta. Water quality is still within normal limits for vannamei shrimp growth.

Abstract

Udang galah (Macrobrachium rosenbergii) merupakan komoditas perikanan yang potensial untuk dibudidayakan karena pertumbuhannya cepat, berukuran besar, serta tingkat prevelansi penyakit yang rendah. Faktor utama yang perlu diperhatikan dalam pembenihan Udang Galah adalah pemilihan induk, pemeliharaan calon induk, metode pemijahan, manajemen pakan, pengendalian hama dan penyakit, serta manajemen kualitas air. Dengan demikian, kegiatan ini membutuhkan perhatian khusus untuk mencapai keberhasilan budidaya Udang Galah. Pelaksaan observasi partisipatif dilaksanakan selama satu bulan di Instalasi Budidaya Air Payau (IBAP) Kabupaten Probolinggo. Kegiatan ini bertujuan mengetahui kondisi optimal yang diperuntukkan pembenihan Udang Galah. Pembenihan Udang Galah di Instalasi Budidaya Air Payau (IBAP) Kabupaten Probolinggo menghasilkan benur Udang Galah sebanyak 11.000 ekor. Kualitas air dari bak pemeliharan benih yang meliputi suhu, salinitas dan DO diantaranya ialah 27℃ - 29℃; 6 – 11 ppt; pH 8,2 – 8,5 dan 7,5 – 8,2 mg/L.

Abstract

Ikan mas merupakan ikan konsumsi air tawar yang memiliki angka produksi tinggi dengan berbagai penerapan metode pembenihan terbaru sehingga muncul berbagai varietas ikan mas seperti ikan mas punten, mustika, sinyonya, rajadanu dan majalaya. Hal tersebut tidak luput dari serangkaian kegiatan utama yang perlu diperhatikan yaitu mulai dari persiapan pembenihan seperti persiapan kolam dan seleksi induk hingga, tahapan pemijahan, penetasan telur, pemeliharaan benih, serta manajemen kualitas air, pengendalian hama dan penyakit. Serangkain kegiatan tersebut telah dilakukan oleh Balai Benih Ikan Kota Depok dengan berpedoman pada CPIB untuk memperoleh kualitas baik dan kuantitas yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan angka produksi. Produktivitas ikan mas di BBI Kota Depok tersebut diantara jumlah telur yang dihasilkan 180.000 butir, fertilization rate (FR) 80.5%, hatching rate (HR) 76.2% dan survival rate (SR) 66.5%. BBI Kota Depok perlu peninjauan ulang dalam mengembangkan metode pembenihan ikan mas yang efektif dan efisien untuk mencapai nilai produktivitas yang maksimal.
