Abstract

The era of society 5.0 requires the use of digital technology to be stronger. In this study, it will be seen how the implementation of the use of digital technology in the field of education. The purpose of this study is to determine the design form and efforts to develop Pop-Up Book learning media as learning media.  This research method uses the Research and Development (R&D) research type. Research and development (R&D) is a process or method used to validate and develop a product. The results of research on the development of Pop-Up Book Learning Media can improve students' critical thinking skills. Teachers have designed lesson plans, but when viewed from the perspective of learning media, a learning media is needed that is packaged in an interesting and comprehensible manner so as to increase interest in student participation in learning, and also to increase student criticality. Therefore, researchers will develop Pop-Up Book learning media to improve students' critical thinking skills. From the problems that have occurred and from previous research as support, an effort is needed to help solve the problems that occur by developing media that can attract interest and increase student understanding. The development of Pop-Up Book Learning Media to Improve Students' Critical Thinking Skills can be carried out by steps: preliminary studies, preparation of initial product drafts, determining basic competencies, designing Pop-Up Book learning media drafts, designing lesson plans, utilizing selected media, involving students in learning by using media and conducting evaluations and revisions.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the role of Merapi FM community radio in reducing disaster risk in the potential disaster exposure area of the Musuk Boyolali sub-district. This research method is empirical research or field research with a qualitative approach. Qualitative research is research that produces descriptive data in the form of written or spoken words from people and behaviour that can be understood. This approach is data collection in the form of oral, written, and also in the form of image documentation. Data from a qualitative descriptive approach can come from interviews, photographs, field notes, video recordings, memos and official documents. The results showed that the community plays an active role in disaster risk reduction efforts in the Cluntang area, namely through disaster response training, environmental preservation, trauma healing, and regional arts and culture. Based on the results of the research, the role of Merapi FM community radio in mitigation and disaster risk reduction in the Cluntang area is (1) Carrying out its role and function by facilitating the needs of the community to reduce the risk of the Merapi disaster, (2) Mobilising the community to be directly involved in all activities, starting from on-air and off-air activities.

Abstract

The shift in the form of communication between individuals through social media is an interesting agreement, technological advances that have occurred at this time have created many new media as a place for self-disclosure and expressing themselves. TikTok social media is one of the most widely used social media, especially among generation Z. Currently TikTok is growing as a lifestyle and phenomenon, but not everyone has the courage toexpress themselves or self-disclosure using social media to become a place for interpersonal communication between TikTok social media users in the form of self-disclosure to others. Supported by a good user interface and able to provide user experience to its users, theTikTok application has a user friendly appearance, where the buttons available have a clear shape and location that is easy to remember. This study examines how the form of self- disclosure or self-disclosure among generation Z on TikTok social media. The method used isa qualitative method. Self disclosure on TikTok social media is in the form of confessions of the heart, feelings, thoughts, emotions and information where informants feel relieved after doing self disclosure on TikTok social media with support from virtual friends as a form of replay. There is trust and a sense of comfort that exists and also knows each other through TikTok social media between himself and friends so that he feels safer when making self- disclosures because he is in the same frequency.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has changed the way students interact with learning media, including in the creation of visual content. One of the most widely used applications among students is Canva Mobile, which offers convenience in designing various academic needs practically through mobile devices. This research aims to explore the experiences of second-semester students of the Communication Science Study Program at the University of Boyolali in using the Canva Mobile interface as a supporting medium for completing academic assignments. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews and observation. Informants were selected using purposive sampling, followed by snowball sampling. The collected data were analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the majority of students feel comfortable and find it easy to use Canva Mobile. Its user-friendly interface, diverse features, and flexible access are the main reasons for its popularity. Canva Mobile has been proven to improve the quality of students' visual assignments and support creativity development in the field of visual communication. However, there are some obstacles, such as the limited features in the mobile version compared to the desktop version, as well as restricted access to premium elements. This study concludes that Canva Mobile is an effective, adaptive, and relevant learning medium that aligns with the needs of today’s digital-native students. Students' positive experiences in using this application serve as evidence that mobile technology can be optimally integrated into higher education.
