Abstract

Disposing of household waste carelessly has become a habit for some people in Tumang Village, thus making the environment polluted. Therefore, a change in the community’s paradigm regarding waste banks needs to be carried out in a sustainable manner. Awareness education and community skills for waste management is very important. Waste bank based on citizen participation is social capital in community-based waste management. Waste bank done in Tumang, Cepogo, Boyolali, Indonesia as a form of concern for the community. Waste bank activity is a concept of collecting and sorting non-organic waste. Empowerment of citizens is carried out through several activities such as educational outreach, training with participatory methods (interaction and communication), as well as dialogue with residents in the community. This waste bank provides benefits to resident, such as reduced waste piles, a clean and healthy environment, and economic independence for residents. Integrated waste management can stimulate creativity and innovation from the community so as to improve the welfare of residents.

Abstract

Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) are businesses capable of encouraging the Indonesian economy to become better and more advanced. One of the MSME that still survived during the covid-19 period is the Sumber Rejeki MSME by producing onion crackers in Papringan Village, Kaliwungu District, Semarang Regency. So far, the marketing carried out by Sumber Rejeki MSME is still conventional, so the sales are still very low. Therefore, a new strategy is needed to develop MSME by using promotion through social media, Facebook and Instagram. Through social media, Facebook and Instagram can help MSME to promote their products. The output of this Community Service Program (CSR) activity is that it can help MSME to expand market share and increase sales turnover at MSME even though they have not been seen significantly. The benefits obtained from this activity are MSME becoming aware of technological developments and MSME have the skills to promote their products through social media, Facebook and Instagram. In addition, this activity is more cost effective and time efficient because it is carried out online.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the role of Merapi FM community radio in reducing disaster risk in the potential disaster exposure area of the Musuk Boyolali sub-district. This research method is empirical research or field research with a qualitative approach. Qualitative research is research that produces descriptive data in the form of written or spoken words from people and behaviour that can be understood. This approach is data collection in the form of oral, written, and also in the form of image documentation. Data from a qualitative descriptive approach can come from interviews, photographs, field notes, video recordings, memos and official documents. The results showed that the community plays an active role in disaster risk reduction efforts in the Cluntang area, namely through disaster response training, environmental preservation, trauma healing, and regional arts and culture. Based on the results of the research, the role of Merapi FM community radio in mitigation and disaster risk reduction in the Cluntang area is (1) Carrying out its role and function by facilitating the needs of the community to reduce the risk of the Merapi disaster, (2) Mobilising the community to be directly involved in all activities, starting from on-air and off-air activities.

Abstract

The development of digital technology has changed the way students interact with learning media, including in the creation of visual content. One of the most widely used applications among students is Canva Mobile, which offers convenience in designing various academic needs practically through mobile devices. This research aims to explore the experiences of second-semester students of the Communication Science Study Program at the University of Boyolali in using the Canva Mobile interface as a supporting medium for completing academic assignments. This study uses a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews and observation. Informants were selected using purposive sampling, followed by snowball sampling. The collected data were analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the majority of students feel comfortable and find it easy to use Canva Mobile. Its user-friendly interface, diverse features, and flexible access are the main reasons for its popularity. Canva Mobile has been proven to improve the quality of students' visual assignments and support creativity development in the field of visual communication. However, there are some obstacles, such as the limited features in the mobile version compared to the desktop version, as well as restricted access to premium elements. This study concludes that Canva Mobile is an effective, adaptive, and relevant learning medium that aligns with the needs of today’s digital-native students. Students' positive experiences in using this application serve as evidence that mobile technology can be optimally integrated into higher education.

Abstract

This study examines the importance of strengthening an anti-corruption culture to build honest attitudes among students of SMAN 2 Boyolali. Corruption threatens the order of national life, not only in government but also in educational environments, such as dishonesty, time corruption, and conditions in schools. This emphasizes the urgency of instilling anti-corruption values ​​​​from an early age. The research method used an interactive socialization approach with educational videos about anti-corruption education. The activity was carried out in grades 11-6 of SMAN 2 Boyolali on November 19, 2025, for 45 minutes. The process began with an interview with the guidance counselor for information on student behavior, delivery of material by the resource person, video screening, and a question and answer session. The outcome showed that students were enthusiastic about understanding the material, gaining new knowledge about honesty, responsibility, and integrity. A total of 36 students representing the class committed to implementing anti-corruption values, upholding moral honesty, and daring to reprimand dishonest friends. This study emphasizes the role of anti-corruption education in high schools as a strategy for preventing corruption and developing the character of a young generation with integrity and morals, and contributing to a culture of honesty and justice in society.

Abstract

The issue of bullying and sexual violence in schools remains a serious challenge that requires structured educational interventions to create a safe learning space for students. This community service program aims to improve literacy and critical awareness among students at SMAN 2 Boyolali regarding the dangers and psychological impacts of such acts of violence. The program was implemented through an interactive outreach method involving 35 students as active participants. The focus of the material presented included definitions, various forms of physical and non-physical violence, long-term psychological impacts, and safe reporting mechanisms for victims. The program's success was measured through a question-and-answer session after the outreach, which demonstrated an increase in student understanding. As a concrete output, this activity succeeded in forming a group of students within one class who took the initiative to act as proactive anti-violence agents in the school environment. These results conclude that the interactive outreach method is an effective and applicable approach to strengthening student protection in educational units.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to strengthen students’ understanding of tolerance as a foundation for creating a harmonious and inclusive school environment. The program, conducted at SMA Negeri 2 Boyolali, impelemented interactive education trough presentations, discussions, and case analysis related to intolerance issue commonly found in school settings. The activity emphasized the concept of tolerance, respect for differences, and the role of schools in supporting diversity. The findings show that students gained better awareness of various forms of intolerant behavior and demonstrated improved understanding of the importance of tolerance in daily social interactions. The activity also encouraged student commeitment to maintaining unity and social harmony in school. These results indicate that tolerance-based educational programs play an essential role in preventing discriminatory behavior and strengthening multicultural awareness among students.

Abstract

Abstrak Pesatnya perkembangan teknologi digital dan media sosial memberikan kemudahan bagi masyarakat dalam mengakses serta menyebarkan informasi. Namun, perkembangan tersebut juga memunculkan berbagai permasalahan, seperti penyebaran hoaks dan meningkatnya kasus penipuan digital di lingkungan masyarakat. Ibu-ibu PKK Desa Gunung Wijil menjadi salah satu kelompok yang aktif menggunakan media sosial sehingga memiliki risiko lebih besar terhadap ancaman cybercrime, seperti phishing, tautan palsu, penipuan bantuan sosial, dan pencurian data pribadi. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan kesadaran masyarakat mengenai pentingnya literasi digital dalam mencegah hoaks dan penipuan digital. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini meliputi sosialisasi, penyampaian materi, dan sesi diskusi interaktif secara langsung kepada anggota PKK Desa Gunung Wijil. Materi yang diberikan mencakup pemahaman literasi digital, jenis-jenis hoaks, bentuk penipuan digital, cara memverifikasi informasi, serta upaya pencegahan cybercrime di media sosial. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa peserta mengikuti kegiatan dengan antusias dan mengalami peningkatan pemahaman terkait pentingnya menyaring informasi sebelum menyebarkannya kepada orang lain. Selain itu, peserta juga menjadi lebih berhati-hati terhadap berbagai bentuk penipuan digital yang banyak beredar melalui media sosial maupun aplikasi pesan. Kegiatan ini diharapkan dapat membantu masyarakat agar lebih bijak, kritis, dan bertanggung jawab dalam menggunakan media sosial sehingga mampu mengurangi risiko penyebaran hoaks dan kejahatan siber di lingkungan masyarakat. Kata Kunci: Literasi digital; cybercrime; hoaks; penipuan digital; media sosial.   Abstract The rapid development of digital technology and social media provides convenience for the public in accessing and disseminating information. However, this development has also given rise to various problems, such as the spread of hoaxes and the increase in digital fraud cases within the community. The mothers of the PKK (Family Welfare Movement) in Gunung Wijil Village have become one of the groups actively using social media, thus facing a greater risk of cybercrime threats, such as phishing, fake links, social assistance scams, and personal data theft. This community service activity aims to increase public knowledge and awareness about the importance of digital literacy in preventing hoaxes and digital scams. The methods used in this activity include socialization, material presentation, and interactive discussion sessions directly with the members of the PKK Desa Gunung Wijil. The materials provided cover understanding digital literacy, types of hoaxes, forms of digital fraud, how to verify information, and efforts to prevent cybercrime on social media. The results of the activity show that participants engaged enthusiastically and experienced an increased understanding of the importance of filtering information before sharing it with others. In addition, participants also became more cautious of various forms of digital scams that are widely circulated thru social media and messaging applications. This activity is expected to help the community become more wise, critical, and responsible in using digital media, thereby reducing the risk of hoax dissemination and cybercrime in the community.
