Abstract

Lindi merupakan cairan yang terbentuk dalam timbunan sampah dan berpotensi sebagai pencemar lingkungan. Namun apabila diolah lindi dapat menjadi sumber unsur hara untuk kultur Chlorella sp.. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pengaruh lindi dalam media kultur dan mendapatkan konsentrasi lindi terbaik untuk meningkatkan biomassa serta komposisi kimia Chlorella sp.. Penelitian menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan 5 perlakuan, yaitu pemberian lindi 5, 10, 15, 20 dan 25% dan masingmasing perlakuan terdiri dari 3 ulangan. Sebelum digunakan, lindi disaring dan dicampur dengan 20 g gula merah yang dihancurkan, 1 L akuades, 15 mL Effective Microorganism4 (EM4 ), dan kemudian difermentasi selama 1 hari. Kultur dilakukan dalam galon berkapasitas 20 L yang diisi dengan 16 L air tawar, dengan penerangan menggunakan lampu dengan intensitas 2500 lux. Proses kultur berlangsung selama 20 hari, dengan parameter yang diukur meliputi kepadatan sel, biomassa, kandungan proksimat, asam amino, kadar nitrat, fosfat, dan kualitas air (suhu, pH, dan DO). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pemberian lindi dalam media kultur berpengaruh nyata terhadap biomassa Chlorella sp. (p<0,05) dengan konsentrasi lindi terbaik pada perlakuan 25%, yaitu biomassa sebesar 0,44 ± 0,00 g L-1, mengandung protein 31,208%, lemak 7,125%, karbohidrat 31,217%, kadar air 26,975% dan kadar abu 3,475%. Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa lindi dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif sumber nutrisi untuk meningkatkan produktivitas Chlorella sp., dengan konsentrasi 25% sebagai yang paling optimal.Leachate is a liquid that forms in landfills and can be an environmental pollutant. However, if the leachate is processed, it can become a source of nutrients for Chlorella sp. culture. This research was conducted to determine the effect of leachate in the culture medium and to obtain the best leachate concentration to increase the biomass and chemical composition of Chlorella sp.. The research used a completely randomized design with five treatments, namely the addition of 5%, 10%, 15%, 20%, and 25% leachate, with each treatment consisting of three replications. Before use, the leachate was filtered and mixed with 20 g of crushed brown sugar, 1 L of distilled water, 15 mL of Effective Microorganism 4 (EM4 ), and then fermented for 1 day. The culture was conducted in a 20 L gallon filled with 16 L of freshwater, illuminated with a light intensity of 2500 lux. The culturing process lasted for 20 days, with parameters measured including cell density, biomass, proximate content, amino acids, nitrate, phosphate, and water quality (temperature, pH, and DO). The results showed that the addition of leachate in the culture media had a significant effect on the biomass of Chlorella sp. (p<0.05), with the best leachate concentration being 25%, yielding a biomass of 0.44±0.00 g L-1 , containing 31.208 % protein, 7.125 % lipid, 31.217 % carbohydrates, 26.975 % moisture content, and 3.475% ash content. Abstract

Lindi merupakan cairan yang terbentuk dalam timbunan sampah yang kaya akan nutrisi dan dapat digunakan sebagai unsur hara untuk kultur mikroalga jenis Chlorella sp. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan konsentrasi lindi yang difermentasi dengan aktifator mikroorganisme EM4 terhadap kepadatan sel Chlorella sp. Design experiment yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan lima perlakuan dan tiga ulangan, yaitu P1 konsentrasi lindi 5%, P2 (10%), P3 (15%) P4 (20%), dan P5 (25%). Parameter yang diamati yaitu kepadatan sel, laju pertumbuhan spesifik, kadar nitrat dan fosfat, serta kualitas air (suhu, pH, dan oksigen terlarut). Data dianalisis dengan ANAVA menggunakan software SPSS 25. Kepadatan tertinggi diperoleh pada konsentrasi 25% sebesar 731,1 ± 2,55 ×104 sel mL-1, dengan puncak pertumbuhan pada hari ke-16. Kepadatan sel terendah pada konsentrasi 5% sebesar 256,4 ± 6,25 ×104 sel mL-1, dengan puncak pertumbuhan pada hari ke-6, laju pertumbuhan spesifik tertinggi pada konsentrasi lindi 5% sebesar 0,19 ± 0,00 sel mL-1 hari-1 dan terendah pada konsentrasi lindi 20% sebesar 0,08 ± 0,00 sel mL-1 hari-1. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa perbedaan konsentrasi lindi yang difermentasi dengan EM4 berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap produksi Chlorella sp.Leachate is a liquid formed in heaps of waste that is rich in nutrients and could be used to supply the required nutrients in microalgae cultures such as Chlorella sp. This experiment aimed to determine the effect of different concentrations of leachate fermented using EM4 microorganism activator on the cell density of Chlorella sp. The experimental design used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with five treatments and three replications: P1 (5% leachate concentration), P2 (10%), P3 (15%), P4 (20%), and P5 (25%). The observed parameters were cell density, specific growth rate, nitrate and phosphate levels, and water quality (temperature, pH, and dissolved oxygen). The data were analyzed using ANOVA using SPSS 25 software. The highest density of Chlorella sp. was 731.1 ± 2.55 ×104 cells mL-1obtained by P5 treatment recorded at the growth peak in the 16th day. The lowest cell density of Chlorella sp. was measured in P1 treatment at 256.4 ± 6.25 ×104 cells mL-1 during the growth peak on day 6th. The highest and lowest specific growth rates of Chlorella sp. were observed in P1 (0.19 ± 0.00 cells mL-1 day-1)and P4 treatments (0.08 ± 0.00 cells mL-1 day-1), respectively based on these results, this recent study concludes that the fermented leachate using EM4 is capable of suppying sufficient nutrient and thus has a very significant effect on the production of Chlorella sp.

Abstract

Salah satu ikan air tawar yang bernilai ekonomi tinggi di Asia Tenggara adalah ikan baung (Hemibagrus nemurus). Namun dalam memenuhi permintaan masyarakat, permasalahan yang sering dihadapi pembudidaya adalah besarnya biaya pakan, sehingga perlu adanya pemberian pakan buatan berbahan dasar lokal yang murah dan mudah didapat. Tujuan dari penelitian ini untuk melihat pengaruh pemberian pakan buatan berupa kombinasi fermentasi ampas sagu dan tepung kepala ikan teri (Stolephorus indicus) dengan persentase yang berbeda terhadap kelulushidupan dan pertumbuhan benih ikan baung. Percobaan ini menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) satu faktor dengan empat tingkat perlakuan, yaitu P1 pemberian pakan sebanyak 6%, P2 (8%), P3 (10%), dan P4 (12%) dari bobot tubuh ikan uji dengan tiga ulangan. Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa persentase pemberian pakan uji kombinasi fermentasi ampas sagu dan tepung kepala ikan teri hingga 10 % dapat meningkatkan pertumbuhan benih ikan baung, namun bila ditingkatkan menjadi 12% pertumbuhan mengalami penurunan. Secara statistik persentase pemberian pakan uji berpengaruh nyata (P<0,05) terhadap bobot mutlak dan laju pertumbuhan harian benih ikan baung. Dari hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa persentase pemberian pakan fermentasi ampas sagu dan tepung kepala ikan teri sebanyak 10% dari bobot tubuh ikan baung optimal untuk meningkatkan pertumbuhan karena sesuai dengan kebutuhan nutrisi ikan baung. Pakan ini dapat dikembangkan sebagai pakan berbahan baku lokal untuk ikan baung karena mudah diperoleh, harganya murah, dapat menekan biaya produksi, dan tersedia berkesinambungan.One of high value freshwater fish in Southeast Asia is the Asian redtail catfish (Hemibagrus nemurus). However, to meet the public demand, the frequently problem faced by farmers is the high cost of feed, so it is necessary to provide artificial feed based on local ingredients that are cheap and easy to obtain. The aim of this study was to determine the effects of feeding of an artificial feed in the form of a combination of fermented sago dregs and anchovy head meal (Stolephorus indicus) at different percentages on the survival and growth of the Asian redtail catfish. This study used a one-factor completely randomized design (CRD) with four treatment levels, namely P1 feeding as much as 6%, 8% (P2), 10% (P3), and 12% (P4) of the test fish's body weight triplicates. The results of this study showed that feeding of the test feed up to 10% could increase the growth of Asian redtail catfish fry, but when it was increased to 12%, growth decreased. Statistically, the percentages of feeding of fermented sago dregs and anchovy head meal as much as 10% of Asian redtail catfish body weight was optimum to increase, because it meets the nutritional requirements of Asian redtail catfish (P<0.05). From the results of the study, it can be concluded that the percentage of feeding fermented sago waste and anchovy head meal as much as 10% of the body weight of Asian redtail catfish is optimal for increasing growth because it is in accordance with the nutritional needs of Asian redtail catfish. This feed can be developed as the feed based on local ingredients for Asian redtail catfish because it is easily obtained, the price is cheap, it can reduce production costs, and it is available continuously.

Abstract

This study evaluated the effect of feeding frequency of chicken intestine paste on the growth and survival of Kryptopterus lais fingerlings. The experiment utilized a completely randomized design with five feeding frequency treatments (2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 times per day) and three replications over 21 days. Ten fingerlings weighing 0.09±0.01 g were stocked in each aquarium and fed at a rate of 10% of their body weight per day. Observed parameters included growth performance, feed efficiency, feed conversion ratio, survival rate, and water quality. The results showed that feeding frequency had a significant effect on growth performance (P<0.05). Feeding four times day⁻¹ resulted in the best performance, indicated by a weight gain of 0.12±0.01 g, length gain of 1.14±0.21 cm, SGR of 0.57±0.01% day⁻¹, feed efficiency of 47.56±3.45%, feed conversion ratio of 2.48±0.21, and survival rate of 76.67±15.28%, with all water quality parameters remaining within optimal ranges. Therefore, a feeding frequency of four times day⁻¹ is recommended to improve growth and feed efficiency during the nursery phase of Kryptopterus lais.

Abstract

Chlorella sp. memiliki peranan yang sangat penting dalam dunia perikanan, terutama sebagai pakan alami pada usaha pembenihan ikan dan udang. Pencahayaan yang optimal sangat penting untuk meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan kepadatan sel Chlorella sp. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh intensitas cahaya yang berbeda pada media kultur terhadap kepadatan sel Chlorella sp. Metode yang digunakan adalah eksperimen dengan rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) yang terdiri dari lima perlakuan dan tiga kali ulangan, yaitu pemberian intensitas cahaya (IC) sebesar  2.500 lux (IC-2.500), 3.000 lux (IC-3.000), 3.500 lux (IC-3.500), 4.000 lux (IC-4.000), dan 4.500 lux (IC-4.500). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa intensitas cahaya berpengaruh nyata terhadap pertumbuhan dan kepadatan sel Chlorella sp. Perlakuan dengan intensitas cahaya 4.500 lux menghasilkan kepadatan sel tertinggi, yaitu 653,33 ± 6,01 × 10⁴ sel/mL pada hari ke-6, dengan laju pertumbuhan spesifik 0,220/hari dan biomassa sebesar 0,46 g/L. Sebaliknya, perlakuan dengan intensitas cahaya 2.500 lux menghasilkan kepadatan sel terendah, yaitu 533,33 ± 47,81 × 10⁴ sel/mL dengan laju pertumbuhan spesifik 0,217/hari dan biomassa 0,40 g/L. Berdasarkan hasil ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa intensitas cahaya 4.500 lux merupakan intensitas terbaik untuk meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan kepadatan sel Chlorella sp. dalam kultur.

Abstract

Optimalisasi pertumbuhan dan efisiensi pemanfaatan pakan merupakan faktor penting dalam keberhasilan budidaya ikan baung (Hemibagrus nemurus). Pemanfaatan bahan alami sebagai aditif pakan, seperti kunyit (Curcuma longa), berpotensi meningkatkan performa pertumbuhan ikan secara berkelanjutan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh penambahan tepung kunyit dalam pakan terhadap pertumbuhan dan efisiensi pemanfaatan pakan benih ikan baung. Penelitian dilakukan secara eksperimental menggunakan rancangan acak lengkap dengan lima perlakuan dosis tepung kunyit dalam pakan, yaitu 0, 5, 10, 15, dan 20 g/kg pakan, masing-masing dengan tiga ulangan. Benih ikan baung dipelihara dalam wadah pemeliharaan selama periode penelitian dan diberi pakan sebanyak 5% dari bobot biomassa per hari. Parameter yang diamati meliputi pertumbuhan berat mutlak, pertumbuhan panjang mutlak, laju pertumbuhan spesifik, rasio konversi pakan, efisiensi pakan, serta kualitas air. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis varians (ANOVA) dan uji lanjut Duncan pada taraf kepercayaan 95%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penambahan tepung kunyit dalam pakan memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap pertumbuhan dan efisiensi pemanfaatan pakan benih ikan baung. Perlakuan dengan dosis 20 g/kg pakan menghasilkan pertumbuhan tertinggi, rasio konversi pakan terendah, dan efisiensi pakan terbaik dibandingkan perlakuan lainnya. Kualitas air selama penelitian berada dalam kisaran optimal untuk kehidupan ikan. Disimpulkan bahwa suplementasi tepung kunyit dalam pakan, khususnya pada dosis 20 g/kg, efektif meningkatkan performa pertumbuhan dan pemanfaatan pakan benih ikan baung.

Abstract

Ikan gabus (Channa striata) memiliki potensi besar dalam akuakultur, namun optimalisasi pakan yang efisien masih menjadi tantangan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh inklusi tepung cumi dalam pakan terhadap palatabilitas, konsumsi pakan, dan pertumbuhan benih ikan gabus, serta untuk menentukan tingkat inklusi tepung cumi yang optimal. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan lima perlakuan (P0, P1, P2, P3, P4) dan tiga ulangan, di mana perlakuan P1 hingga P4 mengandung tepung cumi dengan tingkat inklusi 3%, 6%, 9%, dan 12%, masing-masing. Ikan yang digunakan memiliki bobot rata-rata 1,98±0,04 g dan diberi pakan empat kali sehari secara ad satiation. Parameter yang diukur meliputi kelulushidupan, palatabilitas, pertumbuhan berat dan panjang, rasio konversi pakan, dan efisiensi pakan, serta kualitas air sebagai parameter pendukung. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan P2 (6% tepung cumi) memberikan hasil terbaik, dengan kelulushidupan 92%, palatabilitas 0,45%, pertumbuhan berat 0,53 g, pertumbuhan panjang 0,28 cm, laju pertumbuhan spesifik 0,72%, rasio konversi pakan 4,96, dan efisiensi pakan 17,96%. Kesimpulannya, penambahan tepung cumi dalam pakan dapat meningkatkan palatabilitas dan efisiensi pertumbuhan benih ikan gabus, dengan tingkat inklusi 6% sebagai yang paling optimal.

Abstract

Asian redtail catfish (Hemibagrus nemurus) is a local fish in Riau Province which has high economic value and has the potential to be developed. This study aims to find out the influence of adding bromelain enzymes on feed for the growth and utilization efficiency of Asian redtail catfish seed feed. The experimental design used a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with five treatments and three replications, namely A = control (0.0%), B = bromelain enzyme at a dose of 1.0%, C = 1.5%, D = 2.0 % and E = 2.5 %/g feed. The results showed that the addition of the bromelain enzyme to the feed had no significant influence on the growth and efficiency of the utilization of the Asian redtail catfish seed feed. The best addition of bromelain enzymes to feed was a dose of 2.0%/g feed which resulted in an absolute weight growth of 3.03 ± 0.2 g, an absolute length of 1.43 ± 0.2 cm, a specific growth rate of 4.31±1.5%/day, feed utilization efficiency was 57.3 ± 8.8 % and survival rate was 83.3 ± 11.5 %. Abstract

The growth and survival of catfish larvae (Hemibagrus nemurus) are important factors in successful cultivation, which are greatly influenced by the quality of the natural feed provided. This study evaluated the effect of providing live feed Tubifex sp. enriched with Nigella sativa solution on the growth and survival of catfish larvae. Seven-day-old fish larvae were fed with various doses of Nigella sativa enrichment (0; 0.1; 0.2; 0.3; and 0.4 mg) for 21 days using a completely randomized design with three replications. The parameters observed included absolute weight, absolute length, specific growth rate, and survival. The results showed that Tubifex sp. feed enriched with Nigella sativa solution significantly increased all parameters of larval growth and survival, with the optimal dose at 0.2 mg. This increase is thought to be related to the content of the bioactive compound thymoquinone in Nigella sativa which functions as an antioxidant and immunostimulant, leading to increased metabolic capacity and resistance of larvae to environmental stress. This finding provides an innovative alternative to natural feed that is more nutritious and effective in cultivating catfish, while also supporting sustainable and environmentallyfriendly aquaculture practices.

Abstract

The Asian redtail catfish (Hemibagrus nemurus) is a freshwater species with high economic value and considerable aquaculture potential. However, the development of its culture is still constrained at the hatchery stage, particularly by the low survival rate of larvae during early rearing. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of Moina sp. feeding frequency on the growth performance and survival of H. nemurus larvae. The experiment was conducted for 15 days in June 2025 at the Microalgae and Fish Nutrition Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Islam Riau, Pekanbaru, Indonesia. A completely randomized design with one factor was applied, consisting of five feeding frequencies and three replicates. The treatments were feeding Moina sp. at frequencies of 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 times per day. Three-day-old larvae were used, with an initial average body weight of 0.01 ± 0.00 g and an initial average total length of 0.40 ± 0.00 cm. The observed parameters included final weight, final length, absolute weight gain, absolute length gain, specific growth rate, and survival rate. The results showed that feeding frequency had a significant effect on the growth and survival of H. nemurus larvae. The best performance was obtained at a feeding frequency of 5 times per day, resulting in a final weight of 0.09 ± 0.01 g, final length of 1.26 ± 0.01 cm, absolute weight gain of 0.09 ± 0.01 g, absolute length gain of 0.86 ± 0.01 cm, specific growth rate of 18.13 ± 0.38%, and survival rate of 82.00 ± 4.62%. Water quality parameters throughout the experiment remained within acceptable ranges for larval rearing. Therefore, feeding Moina sp. 5 times daily is recommended as the most effective feeding frequency to improve the growth and survival of H. nemurus larvae
