This research aims to prove that the simplicity in the poem "Aku Ingin" by Sapardi Djoko Damono is not just an aesthetic choice, but an artistic strategy that is consciously and systematically designed. The study was conducted using the Russian Formalism approach which places the internal structure of the text as the center of the analysis, regardless of the biographical or social context of the author. With qualitative descriptive methods and close reading techniques, this study identifies the way formal devices work including repetition, defamiliarization, natural metaphors, typography, diction, and stanza symmetry in building poetry literariness. The results of the analysis show that simplicity is built through a number of devices that support each other: the repetition of the phrase "I want to love you simply" as the dominant device that creates parallel rhythms and binds the structure between verses; defamiliarization through the metaphors of "wood to fire" and "cloud to rain" that present love from a new point of view; as well as lowercase typography and the absence of punctuation that reinforce the subtle and contemplative impression. This organized structural simplicity is the dominant element that drives the entire aesthetic system of poetry. This research confirms that Russian Formalism is able to uncover how simplicity works not as a limitation, but as an artistic force that produces a profound aesthetic experience.

The background of this research is based on the limitations of conventional teaching methods that do not involve students optimally, so the potential of drama as a holistic learning tool has not been optimally developed. This study aims to integrate a collaborative drama scriptwriting approach into the Drama Appreciation course. This quantitative research uses a case study approach involving 95 Indonesian Language Study Program students. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and document analysis, in drama scripts, reflection journals, and discussion recordings. The study results showed a significant increase in social competencies, including teamwork, empathy, and communication. In the aesthetic aspect, there was an increase in creativity and language sensitivity. The results of the lecturer's evaluation showed that the script had depth of theme and originality. However, there were obstacles such as difficulty managing time and limited practice space. This research provides a theoretical contribution by enriching the study of drama pedagogy through a collaborative writing approach, as well as a practical contribution in the form of an innovative learning model that can be adopted in the curriculum.

Old Javanese literature is a significant part of Indonesia’s linguistic and cultural heritage; however, its continuity faces challenges from manuscript deterioration, limited access, declining engagement among younger generations, and evolving learning environments. This study examines the revitalization of Old Javanese literature in the digital era by focusing on preservation, adaptation, cultural transmission, and its implications for language teaching. Using a qualitative research design, the study combined documentary analysis, direct observation, and semi-structured interviews to gather complementary perspectives on the preservation and contemporary revitalization of Old Javanese literary materials. The findings indicate that revitalization requires an integrated approach that encompasses manuscript conservation and restoration, systematic digitization and database development, transliteration and translation, literary interpretation, and contemporary digital adaptation. Digitization is particularly important because it extends access to fragile manuscript collections while creating opportunities to transform literary heritage into educational resources. The study further demonstrates that Old Javanese literary genres and the mabebasan tradition have pedagogical potential for developing reading, vocabulary, speaking, interpretation, critical thinking, and collaborative meaning-making. Digital manuscripts, transliterations, translations, audio materials, annotations, and creative adaptations can therefore function as multimodal resources for contemporary language teaching. The study argues that revitalization should move beyond manuscript preservation toward a continuum of preservation, accessibility, learning, and cultural transmission. Integrating Old Javanese literature into language education can support heritage-based language learning while strengthening intergenerational cultural continuity in the digital era.
