Abstract

Gliklazid adalah obat yang mempunyai kelarutan rendah dan permeabilitas tinggi (BCS II). Teknik dispersi padat telah dikembangkan secara luas untuk meningkatkan laju disolusi obat yang mempunyai kelarutan rendah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah meningkatkan laju disolusi gliklazid dengan teknik dispersi padat dengan pembawa poloxamer 188, HPMC, dan Eudragit® E100. Dispersi padat pada penelitian ini dibuat dengan metode pelarutan. Dispersi padat gliklazid dalam sistem biner dengan poloxamer188 dibuat dalam perbandingan ; 1:0,5, 1:0,75, 1:1, 1:1,5 dan 1:2, dengan HPMC dibuat dalam perbandingan 1:0,1, 1:0,125, dan 1:0,25 sedangkan dengan Eudragit® E100 1:0,25. Dispersi padat sistem terner dibuat perbandingan gliklazid-poloxamer188-HPMC 1:2:0,1 dan 1:2:0,25, sedangkan gliklazid-poloxamer188- Eudragit® E100 pada perbandingan 1:2:0,1 dan 1:2:0,25. Karakterisasi dilakukan dengan uji disolusi, DSC, FTIR, dan XRD. Pada menit ke-15, laju disolusi terbesar dari dispersi padat sistem biner dan terner diperolah dari gliklazid-poloxamer188 1:2 dan gliklazidpoloxamer188-Eudragit® E100 1:2:0,25 yang memberikan peningkatan laju disolusi 12 kali dan 15 kali lebih besar dibanding gliklazid murni. Penurunan puncak endotermik dari gliklazid dalam dispersi padat dengan DSC dan penurunan intensitas pola difraksi gliklazid menunjukkan terjadinya penurunan derajat kristalinitas. Karakterisasi dengan FTIR menunjukkan hampir tidak ada pergeseran puncak serapan gugus fungsi gliklazid pada dispersi padat.Kata kunci: disolusi, gliklazid, dispersi padat, poloxamer 188, HPMC, Eudragit® E100 Gliclazide is a drug with poor water solubility and high permeability. Solid dispersion technique is widely used to improve the dissolution rate of the drug with poor solubility. This study aims to improve the dissolution rate of gliclazide by solid dispersion technique with poloxamer 188, HPMC, and Eudragit® E100 as carriers. Solid dispersions were prepared by solvent evaporation methods in binary and ternary system. In binary system gliklazid was mixed with poloxamer188 in the ratio of 1:0.5, 1:0.75, 1:1, 1:1.5 and 1:2, with HPMC in the ratio of 1:0.1, 1:0.125, and 1:0.25, and with Eudragit® E100 in 1:0.25 ratio. In ternary system gliclazide were prepared with poloxamer188 and HPMC in the ratio of 1:2:0.1 and 1:2:0.25, and with poloxamer188 and Eudragit® E100 in the ratio of 1:1:0.25 and 1:2:0.25. Pure gliclazide, solid dispersions and physical mixtures were characterized by dissolution testing, DSC, FTIR, dan XRD. At the 15th minute, the highest dissolution rate observed from binary and ternary solid dispersions of gliclazide were from gliclazide-poloxamer188 1:2 dan gliclazidepoloxamer188 and Eudragit® E100 1:2:0,25 which showed 12 and 15 fold increase in dissolution rate compared by pure gliclazide. The decrease of endothermic peak (DSC) and the intensity of the diffraction pattern by XRD of solid dispersions showed the decrease of crystallinity rate. Characterization by FTIR virtually showed no shift of absorption peaks of gliclazide on solid dispersion.Keywords: dissolution, gliclazide, solid dispersions, poloxamer 188, HPMC, Eudragit® E100

Abstract

Pengetahuan mengenai pengelolaan dagusibu obat  merupakan faktor predisposisi dari perilaku kesehatan yang mengarah kepada timbulnya drug related problem. Bentuk kegiatan mencakup pemberdayaan masyarakat tentang pelatihan soft skill dan hard skill Pengelolaan Dagusibu Obat Melalui Simulasi Kotak simpan obat  di Wilayah Kecamatan Johar Baru Tahun 2019. Tujuan program pengabdian kepada masyarakat ingin terbentuknya tim pendampingan kader dagusibu obat di tiap-tiap wilayah. Metode pendekatan yang telah disepakati untuk menyelesaikan persoalan mitra yaitu dengan memberikan rangkaian kegiatan pelatihan yang dilakukan secara dua pendekatan pelatihan. Pendekatan Pertama metode pelatihan dengan teknik penyuluhan berbasis ceramah dan massal tanpa melalui simulasi kotak simpan obat, subjek atau sasaran responden terdapat pada masyarakat klurahan Tanah Tinggi Kecamatan Johar Baru. Kedua merupakan pendekatan metode pelatihan berbasis penyuluhan dan bersifat kelompok serta menggunakan simulasi kotak dagusibu. Subjek atau sasaran responden adalah kader kecamatan Johar Baru. Hasil pelaksanaan pengabdian kepada masyarakat yaitu terdapatnya responden perlakuan melalui pelatihan simulasi kotak simpan obat memberikan nilai pengetahuan yang baik 83,87% jika dibandingkan pelatihan penyuluhan tanpa simulasi kotak simpan obat hanya memperoleh cukup baik sebesar 48,27%. Terdapat perbedaan yang bermakna hubungan antara responden mengikuti pelatihan non simulasi dan menggunakan simulasi kotak simpan obat terhadap pengetahuan dagusibu  dengan nilai signifikansi  sebesar p=0,031 (p-Value lebih kecil 0,05).

Abstract

Etlingera elatior (E. elatior) plant has long been used as a kitchen spice and daily food. E. elatior has potential as an antioxidant because it contains polyphenol and flavonoid compounds widely found in the leaves, fruit, and flowers. This study measures the total flavonoid content, total phenol content, and antioxidant activity using the ABTS method. Total phenol content was determined by the Follin-Ciocalteu method and total flavonoid content was determined by the Aluminium Chloride method. The results showed that the total flavonoid content from the highest to the lowest value from E. elatior was fruit extract, leaf extract, and flower extract, respectively. The value of total flavonoid content was 8.38 ± 0.15; 4.86 ± 0.10; and 2.60 ± 0.04 % w/w Catechin Equivalent (CE). The total phenol content from the highest to the lowest value from E. elatior was fruit extract, leaf extract, and flower extract, respectively. The total phenolic content values were 54.48 ± 1.89, 46.20 ± 0.83, and 4.80 ± 0.53 % w/w Gallic Acid Equivalent (GAE). The highest to lowest antioxidant activity values (IC50) were leaf extract at 58.82 ppm (strong activity), fruit extract at 103.05 ppm (moderate activity), and flower extract at 251.40 (weak activity), respectively.

Abstract

COVID-19 or Coronavirus disease 2019 is a pandemic in the end of 2019. Currently, several studies for the therapy of COVID-19 have been carried out, but specific drugs that have been proven effective and safe to treat it do not available yet. Self medication is expected to reduce the severity of sufferers and also spreading of COVID-19 in Indonesia. Patient without symptoms or mild symptons can self isolated and do self medication. Patients with self medication can use drugs to treat symptoms, immune boosting drugs, such as multivitamin or herbal medicines. The purpose of this study is to find out the illustration of Jakarta's self medication pattern for COVID-19 patients who are self-isolating in 2021. This study aims to describe the pattern of self-medication in self-isolated COVID-19 patients in the Jakarta area in 2021. This research uses quantitative descriptive. The technique uses purposive sampling and gets 100 respondens. The data collection is collected by making questioners and analysed by univariat. From the results of data processing, it is known that the tests carried out by PCR Swab were 49 people (69%). The symptoms felt were fever as much as 22.3%. The drug consumed is paracetamol by 45.1%. The supplements consumed were vitamin C by 38.7%. Sources of information are friends/family by 61.4%. The place to get medicines/supplements/traditional medicines is pharmacies by 40% (38 people).

Abstract

Pepaya (Carica papaya L.) adalah salah satu buah yang cukup terkenal di Indonesia dan mengandung enzim papain. Papain adalah enzim proteolitik yang dapat diekstrak dari getah pepaya. VCO (Virgin Coconut Oil) merupakan minyak nabati yang mengandung asam laurat dan senyawa fenolik yang cukup tinggi. Dengan kandungan tersebut, papain dan VCO memiliki potensi pengembangan sediaan kosmetik yang ditujukan untuk perawatan kulit karena memiliki aktivitas antioksidan yang cukup tinggi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental. Pembuatan krim menggunakan basis cold cream (A/M) dengan konsentrasi yang berbeda-beda yaitu F1 (papain 4%), F2 (papain 4% + VCO 5%), F3 (papain 4% + VCO 2,5%), dan F4 (papain 2% + VCO 5%). Evaluasi fisik krim diuji secara organoleptis, uji homogenitas, uji pH, uji daya sebar, dan uji viskositas. Kemudian dilakukan pengujian aktivitas antioksidan dengan metode DPPH menggunakan spektrofotometri UV-Vis. Didapatkan nilai IC50 papain sebesar 45,75 ppm, VCO sebesar 32,22 ppm, basis krim sebesar 77,83 ppm, F1 (papain 4%) sebesar 63,98 ppm, F2 (papain 4% + VCO 5%) sebesar 44,39 ppm, F3 (papain 4% + VCO 2,5%) sebesar 62,09 ppm, dan F4 (papain 2% + VCO 5%) sebesar 56,74 ppm. Kelima formulasi krim termasuk dalam kategori aktivitas antioksidan sangat kuat dan kuat. Krim yang memiliki nilai antioksidan terbaik adalah formulasi F2 sebesar 44,39 ppm dengan kadar papain 4% dan VCO 5%.

Abstract

The effervescent tablet containing extract of temulawak (Curcuma xanthorrhiza Roxb.) with variation of stevia sweetener has been formulated using wet granulation method. This research aims to find the formulation of effervescent tablet of temulawak extract (Curcuma xanthorrhiza Roxb.) with the variation of stevia sweetener that meets the requirements of physical tablet test. The effervescent tablet formula was made in three formulas with the difference in the stevia content. Tests conducted include visual tests, uniformity test, hardness test, friability test, pH test and solubility test. Based on the test results on the physical properties of tablets, it is known that all the formula meets the physical test of tablets and the preferred formula is formula 3 with 4% of stevia.

Abstract

Inappropriate drug storage at home is a common health problem in the community. Improper storage of drugs may affect the quality of the drug. Pharmacist, as a drug informer, plays an important role in providing education about how to store medicines. This study aims to develop educational media in the form of motion graphics and analyze the effect of media to improve the knowledge of drug storage in housewives. The research was conducted in three stages; media development, content revision, and media testing. The media was developed with drug storage material compiled by two experts. Then the content, appearance, and duration are evaluated. To find out the influence of the media in increasing knowledge about drug storage, quasi-experimental was applied with a one-group pretest-posttest design in October 2019 for 28 housewives. From the results of snowball sampling, it is known that the average age of respondents was 43 years, with a range of 18-58 years and the majority were high school graduates (67.9%). Knowledge of respondents was assessed using a knowledge questionnaire. The motion graphic media has a significant influence on increasing the knowledge of housewives regarding the correct storage of drugs. This is indicated by a significant difference in the pretest (67.85) and posttest scores (83.67) after watching 3-minute motion graphic shows (p = 0.001, Cl 95%).

Abstract

Uncontrolled antibiotics use can induce antibiotics resistance cases. The community believe that antibiotics can cure all disease. Because of that Pharmacist is needed home pharmacy care related by antibiotics use knowledge to justify people's misconceptions. The main purpose of this research to analysis relationship between knowledge of behavior using antibiotics in Kelurahan Petukangan Utara with home pharmacy care. This research is non-experimental with a cross sectional study design. The sample used in this research was the community of Kelurahan Petukangan Utara with cluster random sampling metode is 101 responden by questionnaires. The data analysis used chi-square statistic test. The results showed that there were categories of antibiotic knowledge (55.4%) and antibiotic Behavior (53.5%). There is a significant relationship between knowledge with community behavior antibiotics use with p-value=0.015; OR: 4.979 in Kelurahan Petukangan Utara

Abstract

The use of traditional medicine as an alternative treatment is increasing with the tendency of lifestyle back to nature. This shift of the at is seen from the rise of products of the many natural materials circulating the market. This is due to the unreality of adequate health facilities, expensive medicinal prices, and side effects of synthetic drugs. Thus encouraging people to leverage traditional medicine. Nyamplung seed oil (Calophyllum inophyllum L.) is reported to have pharmacological activity as an antioxidant and sunscreen, antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, and wound healers. In Indonesia, the utilization of Nyamplung seed oil is often found for biodiesel. This study was conducted to determine the chemical content and antioxidant activity of Nyamplung oil (Calophyllum inophyllum L.) and compared with Vitamin C. The identification of a group of compounds is conducted with phytochemical screening tests and shows Nyamplung seed oil containing flavonoids, steroids, alkaloids, phenols, and tannins. Antioxidant activity is carried out by the DPPH method and indicates Nyamplung seed oil has antioxidant activity with a value of IC50 3.18 ug/mL. The antioxidant activity of Nyamplung seed oil has a strong activity category and is almost identical to vitamin C activity.
