Abstract

This study aims to analyze how exports, imports, and money supply in Indonesia affect the exchange rate of the rupiah against the US dollar. This quantitative research uses multiple linear regression with time series data from 2005 to 2022 obtained from BPS Indonesia. The results showed that exports have a negative and significant effect on the Rupiah exchange rate, while imports have no significant effect. The money supply has a positive and significant effect on the Rupiah exchange rate. The coefficient of determination of 88.85% indicates that the model can explain significant variations in the Rupiah exchange rate. This analysis focuses on the complex dynamics between exports, imports, money supply, and the Rupiah exchange rate.  The results of this study are expected to provide more comprehensive insights into maintaining the stability of the Rupiah exchange rate and make a significant contribution to the development of national economic policy.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the impact of gender equality on economic growth in 33 districts/cities of North Sumatra Province during the 2018-2022 period. Three dimensions of gender equality are explored, namely education (represented by Average Years of Schooling), health (represented by Life Expectancy), and employment (represented by Labor Force Participation Rate). Panel data was analyzed using the Fixed Effect Model (FEM). The findings show that gender equality in the education and health aspects has a positive and significant influence on economic growth, while gender equality in the employment aspect has a positive influence but is not statistically significant. The policy implications of this research discuss the importance of strengthening the contribution of gender equality to economic development and societal welfare. This finding is strengthened by human capital theory, health economics theory, and gender-based division of labor theory.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the direct and indirect effects of the percentage of poverty and money supply (M1) on the Human Development Index (HDI) in Indonesia using the path analysis method on time series data for the period 2011-2023. The independent variables analyzed are the percentage of poverty and money supply, while HDI is the dependent variable. The data used was obtained from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) and related official government publications. To ensure the validity of the model, classical assumption tests were conducted, including normality, autocorrelation, and heteroscedasticity tests. The results of the analysis show that poverty percentage has a significant negative effect on HDI, both directly and through money supply, while money supply has a significant positive effect on HDI. These findings indicate that poverty reduction and efficient money supply management are crucial to improving the quality of human development in Indonesia. The proposed policy implications include the implementation of more integrated fiscal and monetary policies to promote inclusive and sustainable economic growth.

Abstract

ASEAN countries continue to face challenges in reducing their dependence on fossil fuels despite rapid economic growth and the ongoing global energy transition. This study examines how government expenditure, trade openness, and economic growth influence fossil fuel energy consumption in six ASEAN countries. Understanding the macroeconomic dynamics that drive fossil fuel use is critical for achieving international climate targets under the Paris Agreement, particularly as the region is among the fastest-growing in terms of energy demand and serves as a major global industrial base. Using panel data for the period 2001–2024 and a fixed effects model (FEM), the results show that economic growth has a positive but statistically insignificant effect on fossil fuel consumption, while trade openness and government expenditure have positive and statistically significant effects. These variables jointly explain approximately 98.28% of the variation, indicating that trade integration and fiscal expansion play a more dominant role than economic growth alone. These findings suggest that ASEAN’s reliance on fossil fuels is closely linked to trade dynamics and fiscal policy. Therefore, for regional economic integration to support the transition toward a sustainable energy system, trade and government spending policies must be aligned with energy efficiency and sustainability objectives.
