Abstract

A school of thought is a certain view related to religious law which is believed to be the truth because it is obtained using the ijma or qiyas method. The school of thought has become a system and has even become a lifestyle inherent in the Nahdliyin of the Nahdlatul Ulama community. This paper is a qualitative-descriptive research with a historical approach. The data collection technique uses a literature review that is relevant to the research topic. Data analysis using a thematic approach. The results of the research show that the Nahdliyin Nahdlatul Ulama have implemented 4 schools of thought (Syafi'i, Hanafi, Maliki, Hanbali) in their lives, because the Ulama figures who founded these schools believed that these 4 schools of thought had historical closeness to the Prophet Muhammad. This means that the 4 schools of thought are in accordance with the Al-Qur'an and Hadith.

Abstract

Pembelajaran al-qur’an dengan menggunakan metode Wafa di SMPIT Bina Insan Cendekia kota pasuruan diterapkan mulai tahun 2014. Metode Wafa sendiri menjadi pilihan di SMPIT Bina Insan Cendekia karna mempunyai ciri khas dibanding dengan metode-metode yang lainnya. Yaitu, menggunakan otak kanan, yang mana pembelajarannya sangat mudah difahami oleh siswa/i. Penerapan metode Wafa di SMPIT Bina Insan Cendekia berjalan sesuai dengan standarisasi yang sudah digariskan oleh Wafa pusat yang biasa dikenal dengan istilah 7 M. Langkah inilah yang menjadi kunci, eksistensi dan kesuksesan pembelajaran al-qur’an metode Wafa di SMPIT Bina Insan Cendekia kota pasuruan mulai awal berdiri sampai sekarang. Kesuksesan metode Wafa yang diterapkan di SMPIT Bina Insan Cendekia juga didukung beberapa penunjang seperti 5 pendidik yang hafal al-qur'an 30 juz dan 7 pendidik yang mempunyai suara bagus dan menguasai beberapa nada seperti Hijaz, nahawan dan nada lainnya. Selain itu, peserta didik yang mempunyai niatan yang kuat untuk menjadi hafidz/oh atau generasi qur'ani. Ditambah lagi, ada beberapa program pendukung, seperti kegiatan munaqosyah, tashih, mukhoyyam dan lainnya yang istiqomah diadakan. Pembelajaran Wafa di SMPIT Bina Insan Cendekia juga ada problem yang menjadikan peserta didik tidak mencapai target yang sudah ditentukan sekolah. Salah satu faktornya adalah kurangnya kedisiplinan beberapa pendidik dan adanya peserta didik yang terkadang terlambat mengikuti pembelajaran, bahkan kadang masuk kadang juga tidak. Dengan demikian, maka perlu pengawalan sistem  dan kerjasama semua pihak khususnya pengajar Wafa untuk meminimalisir problem yang ada.

Abstract

Purpose: This study examines the effectiveness of the Arabic language skill upgrading program at Madrasah Tsanawiyah KHA Wahid Hasyim Bangil, focusing on improving students' Arabic proficiency. It aims to explore how structured programs can enhance language skills in Islamic educational settings. Design/methodology/approach: A mixed-method approach was used, combining quantitative data from pre and post-tests with qualitative insights from classroom observations, interviews with teachers and students, and document analysis to evaluate both student performance and teaching practices. Research limitations/implications: The study faced limitations such as time constraints and varying levels of student motivation, which may have influenced results. These factors should be considered for future program improvements. Findings: The findings revealed significant improvements in students' proficiency across all four language skills: reading, writing, listening, and speaking. The program's success is attributed to its structured curriculum, specialized teaching methods, regular assessments, and integration of technology. Originality/value: This research offers valuable insights into effective Arabic language teaching in Islamic educational institutions. It demonstrates how traditional approaches can be enhanced through systematic skill upgrading programs, providing a practical framework for institutions aiming to improve Arabic language education with contemporary teaching methods.

Abstract

The Qur'an is the highest authority in the Qur'an as a fundamental source for faith, worship, ethics and law. This study aims to determine the efforts to eradicate Al-Qur'an illiteracy in Lumbang sub-district, Pasuruan district. This study uses qualitative research methods using three approaches, namely: pedagogical approach, psychological approach and sociological approach. The data in this study were obtained through primary data and secondary data, namely observation and interviews. The research instruments were in the form of observation guidelines, interview guidelines and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the form of government and community cooperation in efforts to eradicate Al-Qur'an illiteracy in Lumbang District, Pasuruan Regency is really well realized. The forms of government and community cooperation are: government and community cooperation in the form of labor contributions, government and community cooperation in providing ideas, government and community cooperation in material donations and government and community cooperation in providing moral support. Cooperation between the government and the community in efforts to eradicate al-Quran illiteracy in Lumbang District, Pasuruan Regency, namely an approach with learning citizens, fun learning, activities outside of learning and motivating residents to learn the Koran. There are three opportunities in alleviating Al-Qur'an illiteracy, namely the existence of schools, facilities and infrastructure and management. Government and community cooperation in efforts to eradicate Al-Qur'an illiteracy has many benefits including: Establishment of TK/TPA, construction of mosques and establishment of majlis ta'lim. With this collaboration, the people of Lumbang Sub-district have become more pious and have faith in God Almighty, have noble character, are independent, have personality, and are physically and spiritually healthy.

Abstract

The Implementation of the Bil Qolam Method in Enhancing the Quality of Quran Reading Skills among TPQ Teachers in Rejoso Sub-district is a research that has the following research focuses: 1. How is the process of implementing the Bil-Qolam method in TPQs across Rejoso Sub-district? 2. What are the supporting and inhibiting factors affecting the implementation of the Bil-Qolam method in TPQs across Rejoso Sub-district? 3. How can the quality of Quranic recitation by teachers be improved in the Bil-Qolam method at TPQs across Rejoso Sub-district? In this study, the researcher employed a descriptive qualitative method, with primary data sources based on Islamic education centers (TPQ) in the Rejoso sub-district that utilize the Bil Qolam method. The results of this research are: The method of reading the Quran Bil Qolam is introduced with various insights in different TPQs. Deep understanding of the meaning and Tajweed of the Quran is emphasized by the teachers, in line with the constructivist approach that highlights the active role of students in learning. The commitment of teachers and the earnestness of students create a conducive learning environment. Nevertheless, challenges such as lack of understanding among some teachers and the creation of a conducive learning environment are hurdles that need to be addressed. In conclusion, enhancing understanding and consistency in the implementation of the Bil Qolam method is expected to yield positive outcomes in Quranic learning at TPQs. Abstract

Learning methods in educational institutions are very effective in the learning process so they can provide the best learning results. So that education observers compete to create an education system in such a way that they look at the field problems that occur. One of them is using the takror method or repeating material that has been taught by the teacher by presenting it in front of other students as explained by the teacher to the students. The aims of this research are 1) To describe the implementation of the takror method at the Darumafatihil Ulum Podokaton Bayeman Gondangwetan Pasuruan Islamic Boarding School, 2) To find out the factors that support the level of understanding of students in shorrof subjects at the Darumafatihil Ulum Podokaton Bayeman Gondangwetan Pasuruan Islamic Boarding School and 3) To find out the implications takror method in increasing understanding of shorrof subjects at the Darumatihil Ulum Podokaton Bayeman Gondangwetan Pasuruan Islamic Boarding School. This research uses a qualitative research approach. Meanwhile, the type of research used by researchers is descriptive. The primary data sources in this research are the caregivers, teachers, administrators and students of the Darumafatihil Ulum Podokaton Bayeman Gondangwetan Pasuruan Islamic Boarding School. Data collection techniques are direct observation, structured interviews and documentation. Data analysis uses data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. Checking data wetness using triangulation. The results of the research show that 1) The implementation of the takror method at the Darumafatihil Ulum Podokaton Bayeman Gondangwetan Pasuruan Islamic Boarding School is carried out in two stages, namely the preparation stage: a) The takror administrators and students are present before 20.00 b) The students read nadoman or memorize tasrifan shorrof c) The takror administrators prepare supporting facilities. Implementation stage: a) Takror activities are held from 20.00-21.30, b) Students repeat learning material, c) Takror administrators explain material that is not yet understood. 2) Factors that support the level of understanding of students in shorrof subjects at the Darumafatihil Ulum Podokaton Bayeman Gondangwetan Pasuruan Islamic Boarding School are influenced by several very important factors, including: a) The quality of accompanying teachers, b) The students' high learning motivation, c) The existence of support from people old. 3) There are two implications of the takror method in increasing understanding of shorrof subjects at the Darumafatihil Ulum Podokaton Bayeman Gondangwetan Pasuruan Islamic Boarding School, namely: 1) Implications for students 2) Implications for institutions.

Abstract

Objective: This study aims to develop a web-based village information system for Pulau Mandangin to improve the dissemination of information and facilitate residents in submitting complaints online, addressing the long-standing challenge of ineffective communication between villagers and local authorities. Method: The system was designed using the CodeIgniter 4 framework due to its lightweight structure and efficiency in web application development. Key features include village profile information, historical background, vision and mission, news updates, official announcements, organizational structure, and an integrated online complaints submission module. System performance was evaluated using black box testing, and user satisfaction was assessed through a Likert-scale survey. Results: Black box testing confirmed that all system functionalities operated correctly and as intended. The user satisfaction survey produced a score of 77.5%, categorized as “agree,” indicating a high level of acceptance and perceived usefulness among residents. Novelty: This research provides a practical digital solution for remote island communities with limited IT adoption, presenting an accessible and community-oriented platform that enhances transparency, communication efficiency, and public service delivery at the village level.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aims to explain the process of transformative Islamic education in community-based plastic waste management through a combination of pyrolysis technology and biomass in Manikrejo Village, Pasuruan Regency, and to analyze its impact on changing paradigms, community independence, and the creation of circular economic value.Design/methodology/approach: This research employs a qualitative case study approach with data collection through participant observation, in-depth interviews with 35 informants consisting of religious leaders, village officials, waste management group administrators, training participants, and sub-district government representatives, as well as documentation during the community service program from June to December 2025. Data analysis uses an interactive model and triangulation to ensure validity.Findings: The results reveal three main stages in transformative Islamic education through this program. First, internalization of Islamic values such as cleanliness, moral responsibility, and mutual cooperation becomes the motivational foundation driving community participation, with religious figures acting as catalysts for behavioral change. Second, the implementation of learning-by-doing methods with tiered mentorship successfully transforms residents from passive recipients into competent technology operators, with 90% of participants able to operate pyrolysis reactors independently. Third, a fundamental paradigm shift occurs where plastic waste is no longer viewed as an "environmental burden" but as a "potential raw material" with economic and functional value. The program produces measurable impacts: every 5 kg of plastic waste is converted into 3.5 liters of pyrolysis oil and 1 kg of biochar, creating environmental, economic, and social benefits simultaneously.Research limitations/implications: This study is limited to one village context in Pasuruan Regency, East Java. However, it provides valuable insights for the development of transformative Islamic education models in non-formal and community-based settings, and offers an alternative approach for Islamic educational institutions facing the challenge of integrating spiritual values with appropriate technology and environmental sustainability.Originality/value: This research contributes to the literature on transformative Islamic education by documenting a proven community-based educational approach that integrates spiritual values, local wisdom, and circular economy principles. The learning-by-doing method combined with tiered mentorship represents a modern adaptation of the sanad system in Islamic scholarly tradition, offering a replicable framework for similar programs in other rural contexts in Indonesia and other developing countries.

Abstract

The creativity of the teacher in managing the classroom is very important because it will develop the success of the teacher in overcoming the boredom of student learning. The purpose of this study was to determine the creativity of teachers in the field of Islamic Education in managing classes to overcome learning saturation in Madrasah Aliyah Negeri and also to determine the symptoms of learning saturation faced by students in Madrasah Aliyah Negeri. This type of research is field research with a qualitative case study approach. The subjects of this study were 2 teachers in the field of Fiqh, 2 Al-Qur'an Hadith, 2 Akidah Akhlak, and 2 Islamic Cultural History teachers and also 6 students who participated in Islamic Education learning materials. The data collection techniques used were observation, interviews, and documentation, while the data analysis techniques used were data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that the creativity of teachers in managing the classroom to overcome student boredom in Madrasah Aliyah Negeri has five points of findings, namely: 1) checking the situation and condition of students in order to understand and ensure that students are comfortable and happy in participating in learning, 2 ) teachers also make good use of learning media in learning, 3) teachers manage the learning environment well, 4) develop teaching strategies, 5) and provide motivational strategies. This research can contribute to teachers to review the circumstances and conditions experienced by students when teaching and learning activities are taking place in handling classes.

Abstract

The digital era, as we are currently experiencing, has made all lines of life visible in the digital world. Most people can definitely access YouTube. Until now, YouTube has become the social media network that is most in demand by adults and even children. Can not be separated in the world of education itself, teaching staff can really take advantage of this media to support teaching and learning activities. The formulation of the problem in this study is how students respond to learning using YouTube Media as a teaching medium in Indonesia language, analyzing how students' interest and motivation in learning introductory education courses. This research uses descriptive qualitative method. The research subjects were 32 students in semester 1 of the Islamic religious education study program in the odd semester of the 2023/2024 cademic year. This study aims to describe the perceptions of Unsulbar students towards YouTube media and the effects that arise after accessing learning materials through YouTube media. As many as 90.3% of 32 students stated that they liked YouTube media to be used as a learning medium and this research can provide an empirical basis for the benefits of YouTube developed by lecturers as a learning medium in introductory lectures and other courses in tertiary institutions
