Abstract

Every civil servant has the same opportunity to get a position to improve their career, including employees in the North Sulawesi Provincial Government Office. The structural position is a very strategic position for anyone who can reach the position. However, it is not uncommon to find gender inequality in a community group that can affect every employee in reaching the position. As for this study, it can be understood that there are several factors that cause an imbalance in occupying echelon positions. The existing factors are divided into internal factors that come from within the employee, and external factors that come from outside the employee and influence them to develop themselves, especially for female employees. All of these factors are expected to create gender equality in the Regional Government of North Sulawesi. Keywords: Women's struggle, Minahasa culture, local government

Abstract

Abstract

Gentrification is a social phenomenon that involves regional transformation due to changes in social, economic, and cultural structures. This article discusses the relationship between gentrification and tourism through a gentricological approach, focusing on how the development of new areas due to gentrification contributes to the tourism potential in Indonesia. This research highlights the multifaceted role, ranging from government policies, business expansion, to socio-cultural impacts in gentrified areas. Various examples of regions such as Cilegon, Tanjung Bunga, Batam, and Tomohon were analyzed to identify the dynamics between indigenous and immigrant populations and their influence on local tourism activities. The results of the study show that gentrification can support the development of tourism through the emergence of new attractions, infrastructure improvements, and cultural diversification, although on the other hand it has the potential to cause social and economic inequality. These findings underscore the importance of careful and inclusive planning in the gentrification process so that the positive impact on the tourism sector can be maximized without neglecting the social sustainability aspect.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the people's perception of the myth of "kepunan" in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province. This research method uses descriptive qualitative with triangulation techniques, namely observation, interviews, and documentation. The sampling technique uses Purposive sampling. The object of research in the Bangka Belitung Islands Province, where the myth is still developing and believed in, is the myth of "kepunan.” This myth is viewed from three aspects: cultural views, religion, and the younger generation. These three aspects became the basis for obtaining the results of this study. First, the myth of " kepunan " is part of the culture and customs of local peoples passed down from generation to generation from ancestors. Most local people believe in the myth of "kepunan" and think that there is something terrible that comes if they ignore the myth. Other minority groups believe the myth of "kepunan" is an ancestral heritage that needs to be maintained as local wisdom in Bangka Belitung. Second, the group of scholars believes that the myth of " kepunan " is only a mere superstition, unacceptable with logic, and cannot be accounted for its truth, so the myth cannot be connected with religious rules. Third, the younger generation's view of this "kepunan" myth has begun to diminish because environmental factors influence it. Where the younger generation of the local people of Bangka Belitung worked a lot in the city, so slowly, the myth of "kepunan" began to fade.

The intricate tapestry of Balinese identity is deeply intertwined with Hinduism, shaping a hierarchical societal structure organized around religious affiliations, castes, and traditional roles. While historically rigid, contemporary Balinese society exhibits a more flexible approach to identity, although Hindu influence remains pervasive. Historical shifts, including Dutch Colonization, Indonesia's independence and subsequent governance policies of the New Order, have further impacted Balinese identity, leading to major changes in Balinese social and political structures, furthermore economic factors, particularly tourism, have played a significant role, both amplifying cultural expression and triggering challenges such as over-tourism and urbanization, with implications for traditional livelihoods and environmental sustainability, The dichotomy of Sekala (perceivable) and Niskala (sacred) encapsulates the dual nature of Balinese culture, with interactions tailored differently for internal and external audiences. Abstract

The regional language in the traditional marriage of the Sangihe tribe is an integral part of the cultural heritage of this tribe in Indonesia. This language reflects the values, norms, and traditions that are deeply rooted in the marriage process of the Sangihe tribe. In this study, the researcher explored the important role of traditional languages in Sangihe wedding ceremonies, this study shows that the regional language of Sangihe weddings has an important role in guiding and celebrating the marriage process. The language includes unique phrases, prayers, and speaking procedures that honor traditions and ancestors. The role of this language in maintaining family unity, respect for ancestors, and social responsibility is very important. However, in the face of changing times and global influences, the traditional language of Sangihe weddings faces the risk of declining use. Efforts to preserve and maintain this regional language are becoming increasingly important to connect the younger generation with their cultural roots.
