Abstract

Student delinquency has become a worrying phenomenon. Till now, there has been no study that has looked at students' delinquency from the Psycho-Spiritual Healing approach using the Koran perspective with the tahsin and tahfidz models. This paper aimed to complement the shortcomings of previous studies that ignore the contribution of the Koran in solving students' delinquency problems. The application of the tahsin and tahfidz models was carried out in three stages. The first was to get students accustomed to reading and memorizing Koran. The second was disciplining students, and the third was evaluating student achievement.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze strategies for strengthening religious character among adolescents in Tanjung Tebat Village and to identify supporting and inhibiting factors. The research problem centers on the lack of consistency in religious character development among rural youth outside formal schooling. A descriptive qualitative approach was applied using field research. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. Data validity was ensured through triangulation by comparing results across sources. Analysis involved data reduction, display, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that religious values are developed through community-based activities such as mukhadarah (religious speech training) and congregational Dhuhr prayers. Additional focus is given to Qur’an reading skills and adherence to Islamic dress codes, especially among female adolescents. The character-building process includes stages of introduction, internalization, habituation, and implementation, monitored through behavioral discipline and social reinforcement. Supporting factors include internal motivation, family involvement, and the commitment of community religious facilitators. Inhibiting factors involve limited male role models and inadequate religious facilities. These results highlight the importance of non-formal, community-driven religious education in shaping adolescent character in rural areas.

Abstract

This study aims to explore the emotional experiences, social adjustment, and coping strategies of domestic migrant students in Bengkulu who experience homesickness and insecurity during their adaptation process in higher education. A descriptive qualitative approach was employed, with data collected through semi-structured interviews and observations involving undergraduate students from semesters 2 to 6. The findings indicate that domestic migrant students commonly experience emotional challenges in the early stages of adaptation, including loneliness, anxiety, reduced self-confidence, and feelings of social isolation. These challenges are primarily influenced by environmental transitions, cultural and linguistic differences, and the demands of independent living in a new social context. Despite these difficulties, students gradually develop adaptive coping strategies through peer interaction, social support systems, and both problem-focused and emotion-focused coping mechanisms. The results further show that self-efficacy plays a supportive role in helping students regulate psychological stress, although it is not the sole determining factor in overcoming homesickness. Strong social support networks and effective coping strategies are found to be more dominant in facilitating successful adaptation. Overall, the study highlights the importance of strengthening social support systems and psychological resilience to improve the well-being and adjustment of domestic migrant students in higher education settings.
