Abstract

This research is based on the existence of the transnational peasant movement and the interaction of the Indonesian local peasant movement in transnational agrarian politics. This research takes a case study of the Asian Peasant Coalition (APC) as a transnational farmer organization in Indonesia. Using qualitative methods carried out by reviewing documents and interviews, this study seeks to explain the transnational activism of the Asian Peasant Coalition (APC) within the collective identity and encourage the struggle of local peasant organization in Indonesia. To explain the above, this study uses the Transnational Activism concept developed by Sidney Tarrow to analyze and transnational activities. In addition, this study also uses framing theory in the collective to analyze how the solidarity of transnational farmer movements and local farmer movements can be formed and maintained during the advocacy process. This research finds and concludes that the ordering of local land grabbing collective problems campaigned and advocated at the global level by APC is carried out through the stages of development of Transnational Contention. The impact of this phase is what supports the problems of local farmers to become part of the national movement and will eventually create solidarity movements to support farmers at the local level. It is in this context that the solidarity and collective identity of the transnational peasant movement is formed and enables the birth of transnational actors at the local level.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract: Hindutva is a political ideology that supports Hindu supremacy in India which aims to transform India as a secular state into an ethno-Nationalist State (ethnic nationalism). The revival of Hindutva politics in India began since the Bharatiya janata Party (BJP) which embraced the Hindutva ideology took over the central government of India in 2014. As an ideology, Hindu nationalism (Hindutva) has dramatically changed Indian politics and its relations with other countries, especially Pakistan with the help of Narendra Modi. Therefore, this study aims to find out the influence of the Hindutva movement on India-Pakistan bilateral relations during the era of Narendra Modi's leadership. This study used descriptive qualitative research methods with library research data collection techniques. The analysis in this study uses two concepts, namely the concept of bilateral relations and the concept of political ideology. The results of this study indicate that the emergence of the Hindutva movement as a political ideology in India has brought more serious strains on the bilateral relations between India and Pakistan.  Keywords: India, Pakistan, Hindutva, Political Ideology, Bilateral relations.

Abstract

Turkey and Indonesia, while sharing similarities as Muslim-majority democracies with a presidential system, also exhibit distinct differences. Geographically, Indonesia is located in Southeast Asia, separating the Pacific and Indian Oceans, whereas Turkey serves as a bridge between Asia and Europe. Despite their differences, both countries practice secularism, with Turkey often cited as a successful example of a Muslim-majority state maintaining secular governance. Indonesia, despite its diverse ethnic and religious landscape, also upholds the separation of religion and politics. This paper will explore the practice of secularism in both Turkey and Indonesia, examining its historical background, relationship with democracy, and compatibility with Islam. The first part will cover the concept of secularism, while subsequent parts will focus on the implementation of secularism in Turkey and Indonesia, respectively.
