Abstract

Welding is a metal joining technique by melting some of the parent metal and filler metal or without adding metal and producing a continuous metal. In the world of welding engineering or the industrial world today, low carbon steel is one of the metals that is often used in construction. One of the problems that often occurs in the use of steel as a basic construction material is that steel is prone to fracture. This study aims to determine how the mechanical properties and microstructure and the relationship between the two SMAW welding results with variations in welding current strength using E6027 electrodes. This research uses experimental research methods and this type of research is quantitative research. To obtain results regarding the analysis of the magnitude of tensile strength and microstructure of low carbon steel that has undergone SMAW welding with variations in current strength, the data obtained were analyzed using descriptive analysis, which describes the comparison of specimens treated differently during the welding process. The value of the tensile strength test results of each group is averaged and then compared with the average value of the other groups' tests. The results of the comparison of tensile strength tests and groups were then analyzed. For each variation of current strength, 1 microstructure specimen was taken on HAZ, weld metal and base metal. The research object used is low carbon steel. The tensile strength test specimen refers to the ASTM E8/E8M-09 standard. The results showed that the tensile strength of the welding raw material was 36,711 kgf/mm2. the value of the tensile strength with a current of 100 Ampere decreased by 31,863 kgf/mm2. Meanwhile, with a strong welding current of 125 Amperes an increase of 40,827 kgf/mm2. At a welding current of 150 Amperes an increase of 48,503 kgf/mm2 The microstructure of the parent metal consists of pearlite and ferrite, the microstructure of the HAZ region. The microstructure of the HAZ region and the weld metal with a welding current of 150 Ampere consisted of bainite and widmanstatten ferrite. The microstructure of the HAZ region and the weld metal with a welding current of 100 and 125 Ampere consisted of residual asutenit and widmanstatten ferrite.

Abstract

Agricultural land with terraces and having an area per plot of less than 0.1 ha, is difficult to reach by large-sized and large-capacity agricultural machines. The Harvest Slider type rice harvester is an agricultural machine that can be used on small land and terraces. The purpose of this study was to design a cutter and guide unit for a rice harvesting machine that is easy to use on small land and terraces. The machine observation parameters measured were the effective field capacity, the effectiveness of the cutting unit, the effectiveness of the steering unit, fuel consumption and harvested rice loss. The work results show the effectiveness of the cutting unit is 99.56% and the steering unit is running well, which is indicated by the percentage of the effectiveness of the directing unit is 100%. The results of the performance test showed that the KLE for harvesting this machine was 0.05 ha/hour, fuel consumption was 1.2 l/hour, grain loss during harvesting was 2.1%. This shows that the Harvest Slider type rice harvester is on terraced and small land that cannot be reached by large harvesters.

Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has created the largest disruption to education systems in human history, affecting nearly 1.6 billion students in more than 200 countries. The closure of schools, institutions and other learning spaces has affected more than 94% of the world's student population. It has brought about vast changes in all aspects of our lives. Social distancing policies and movement restrictions have significantly disrupted traditional educational practices. The reopening of schools after the easing of restrictions is another challenge with many new standard operating procedures being put in place. In the short span of time from the COVID-19 pandemic, many researchers have shared their work on teaching and learning in different ways. Some schools, colleges and universities have stopped face-to-face teaching. There is a fear of missing out on the 2020 school year or even more in the future. The need now is to innovate and implement alternative education systems and assessment strategies. The COVID-19 pandemic has given us the opportunity to pave the way for introducing digital learning. This article aims to provide a comprehensive report on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on online learning of various papers and show the way forward.

Abstract

The motorcycle automotive industry in West Java is growing rapidly. However, there is a gap between the skills of graduates of Vocational High School Teknik dan Bisnis Sepeda Motor (SMK-TBSM) and the specific needs of the motorcycle automotive industry that continues to grow. As a result, it is necessary to map the needs of the industry for graduates of vocational education. The use certification of the Professional Certification Institution (LSP-P1) can help overcome this gap, but it has not been optimized. The cooperation between Vocational High School and LSP-P1 can improve the competitiveness of graduates. In the context of the rapid growth of the automotive industry, the relevance of vocational education to industry needs is becoming increasingly important. The urgency of this research lies in the importance of identifying the competency gap between Vocational High School graduates and industry needs, and the need to improve the competitiveness of Vocational High School graduates. This study aims to map the needs of the motorcycle automotive industry for Vocational High School graduates, analyze the LSP-P1 certification scheme and its potential in improving the competitiveness of Vocational High School graduates, develop an ideal cooperation model between Vocational High School and LSP-P1, and make strategic recommendations to improve the competitiveness of Vocational High School graduates in West Java. This study uses descriptive and exploratory design, the sampling technique is purposive sampling, data collection through in-depth interviews with stakeholders (industry representatives, LSP, vocational education practitioners and vocational schools), and surveys to vocational school alumni who have LSP certification to assess the impact of certification on their competitiveness. The data analysis is done qualitatively.
