Abstract

Pentingnya keterampilan berpikir dan bertindak yang melibatkan penguasaan berpikir dan menggunakan cara berpikir saintifik dalam mengenal, menyikapi, dan menyelesaikan permasalahan terkait kehidupan nyata perlu dilatihkan kepada peserta didik, salah satu caranya melalui literasi sains dan pembelajaran berbasis proyek (PjBL). Hal tersebut perlu dilatihkan kepada para guru di sekolah melalui kegiatan kolaborasi Musyawarah Guru Mata Pelajaran (MGMP) dengan para pendidik di Perguruan tinggi, khususnya Lembaga Pendidikan Tenaga Kependidikan (LPTK). Berdasarkan tujuan tersebut, Departemen pendidikan Kimia FPMIPA UPI menyelenggarakan kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat (PkM) bekerjasama dengan guru-guru MGMP Kimia Kabupaten Sumedang. Kegiatan ini dilaksanakan dengan pola 32 Jam Pelajaran (JP) menggunakan metode daring melalui platform zoom dan luring yang dilaksanakan di SMAN 1 Cimalaka. Kegiatan PkM ini terdiri atas pemaparan materi tentang literasi sains dan project based learning, pendalaman konten kimia terkait materi Green Chemistry, serta workshop perancangan perangkat pembelajaran PjBL berorientasi literasi sains. Melalui kegiatan workshop ini, para guru mendapatkan pemahaman yang utuh tentang PjBL dan literasi sains, berhasil merancang pembelajaran dengan model PjBL yang berorientasi literasi sains, serta mendapat kesempatan untuk memaparkan ide dan gagasannya melalui kegiatan seminar. Rancangan pembelajaran yang dibuat sudah siap untuk diterapkan di sekolah, karena telah memperoleh masukan ketepatan konten dan konteksnya secara mendalam pada kegiatan workshop maupun pada kegiatan seminar hasil workshop.

Abstract

Dalam proses pembelajaran di abad ke 21 menekankan proses yang berpusat pada siswa (student center). Berbagai pendekatan yang dilakukan oleh guru agar siswa tidak mengalami tekanan/stres dalam pembelajaran, diantaranya dengan pendekatan emphaty dan mindfulness Penelitian ini mendeskripsikan profil emphaty dan mindfulness dalam pembelajaran kimia. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah desktiptif dan naratif berdasarkan hasil pengamatan siswa terhadap subjek penelitian sesuai fakta ketika siswa mengikuti pembelajaran kimia di kelas. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa lembar skala sikap menggunakan model Guttman (dua pilihan jawaban ya/tidak) serta uraian terbatas melalui spreadsheet dalam google-form. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan hampir seluruh guru kimia sudah menerapkan pendekatan emphaty dan mindfulness di kelas dengan saran perbaikan berupa menjalin hubungan dan komunikasi yang lebih baik serta memberi saran dan solusi terhadap masalah yang dihadapi siswa.

Abstract

The conceptual readiness of pre-service chemistry teachers regarding chemical bonding plays a crucial role in supporting pedagogical competence and deep content understanding. This study aims to analyze the level of students’ conceptual readiness in understanding chemical bonding concepts using a three-tier diagnostic test. A qualitative research method with a descriptive approach was employed, involving 27 students from the chemistry education program at a private university in North Sumatra. The results indicate that most students are at a partial understanding level, with a dominance of misconceptions particularly in concepts such as ionic bonding, compound polarity, and valence bond theory. These findings highlight the urgent need to strengthen pedagogical strategies and enhance instructional design to improve conceptual literacy and prepare future teachers to face the challenges of 21st-century science education. The study recommends the integration of diagnostic assessment into teacher education curricula to support the development of chemistry instruction that is conceptually grounded and sustainability-oriented.

Abstract

Rendahnya skor PISA 2022 siswa Indonesia pada domain sains masih jauh di bawah rata-rata OECD. Kondisi ini menunjukkan lemahnya kemampuan siswa dalam menjelaskan fenomena ilmiah dan mengambil keputusan berdasarkan bukti. Penelitian ini bertujuan menyintesis bukti empiris mengenai pengaruh Problem-Based Learning (PBL) berbasis Socio-Scientific Issues (SSI) terhadap literasi sains melalui Systematic Literature Review (SLR). Prosedur penelitian mengikuti kerangka PRISMA yang meliputi tahap perencanaan, pelaksanaan, dan pelaporan. Penelusuran literatur pada basis data Scopus dan Google Scholar menghasilkan 20 artikel akhir. Kriteria inklusi penelitian ini yaitu artikel jurnal terindeks Sinta 1-4 atau Scopus, terbit antara tahun 2016–2025, serta membahas PBL, SSI, dan literasi sains secara terpadu. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa penelitian mengalami peningkatan pada 2025, didominasi jenjang pendidikan menengah dan metode kuasi-eksperimen. Secara kolektif, temuan menegaskan bahwa penerapan PBL berbasis SSI berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap literasi sains, terutama pada kemampuan menginterpretasikan data dan bukti ilmiah. Penelitian mendatang disarankan untuk memperluas topik SSI di luar dimensi lingkungan, mengintegrasikan inovasi bahan ajar berbasis LMS atau e-modul interaktif, serta mengkaji variabel internal siswa yang memengaruhi keberhasilan pembelajaran PBL berbasis SSI guna menghasilkan temuan yang lebih komprehensif dan dapat digeneralisasi pada skala yang lebih luas.

Abstract

Grounded in self-regulated learning theory and formative assessment frameworks, this study investigates the theoretical basis for integrating electronic portfolios with artificial intelligence to support metacognitive assessment in secondary school chemistry, specifically in learning buffer solutions. A qualitative descriptive design was employed as the define stage of the 4D development model (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). Data were collected through semi-structured interviews with two chemistry teachers selected via purposive sampling to represent contrasting instructional contexts: a public senior high school implementing the Kurikulum Merdeka and a boarding school with restricted digital infrastructure. Interviews were supplemented by a systematic literature review. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis, involving familiarization, open coding, theme development, and synthesis. Trustworthiness was established through member checking and data triangulation between interview findings and literature. The findings reveal four interrelated barriers to effective metacognitive assessment: a persistent feedback bottleneck arising from high teacher workload; disparities in digital access across school contexts; students’ overreliance on algorithmic procedures at the expense of conceptual understanding; and a gap between authentic assessment ideals and operational classroom realities. These findings establish a theoretically grounded rationale for developing an AI-enhanced electronic portfolio that positions artificial intelligence as an automated scaffolding mechanism for formative feedback, rather than merely a technological add-on. The proposed conceptual framework offers design principles for subsequent development and empirical validation of the assessment system.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the results of the analysis of scientific literacy abilities of Indonesian students in chemistry learning. The method used is Systematic Literature Review (SLR), which consists of five stages, namely question formulation, locating studies, study selection and evaluation, analysis and synthesis, reporting and using the results. Based on a study of 15 reputable journals indexed scopus (International Journal) and sinta (National Journal), the scientific literacy abilities of Indonesian students at the high school level and the education of prospective teachers are in the sufficient category, but there are still many who are in the low category. This is because students are not familiar with scientific literacy questions and learning which rarely trains individuals to make arguments based on observations or investigations, making it difficult for them to work on questions that require an analysis of existing scientific evidence or facts. Therefore, it is necessary to make efforts to improve scientific literacy skills through the application of learning models that train the ability to apply scientific knowledge that has been obtained in solving problems in everyday life. Problem-based learning models, ethnoscience-based learning, contextual-based guided inquiry learning, and also project-based learning.
