Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk   menginvestigasi   kemampuan   berbicara  bahasa  Inggris dengan strategi pembelajaran Mind Mapping dan pengaruh interaksi antara strategi pembelajaran dan rasa percaya diri  terhadap kemampuan berbicara bahasa Inggris.  Penelitian ini adalah quasi-experimen dengan  rancangan  penelitiannya  adalah desain faktor 2x2. Populasi penelitian adalah 60 siswa demgan intac kelas dan secara  random. Teknik pengumpulan data dalam peneltian ini menggunakan teknik tes dan non-tes. Dalam menganalisis data menggunakan teknik statistik deskriptif dan inferensial. Teknik inferensial yang digunakan adalah teknik analisis Varians (ANOVA) dua jalur dengan taraf signifikan 0,05 %. Uji normalitas data menggunakan Shapiro-Wilk dan uji homogenitas menggunakan uji Levene dan analisis dilanjutkan dengan menggunakan uji T. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa ada perbedaan yang signifikan kemampuan penggunaan strategi pembelajaran Mind Mapping dan strategi pembelajaran  kovensional  dengan  taraf signifikasi <0.5 (0.004<0.5). Sementara itu, ada interaksi yang sangat signifkan antara motivasi dan kemampuan membaca dengan nilai perbedaannya  0.000<0.5.  Dari  perolehan  hasil  penelitian  ini  dapat  disimpulkan  bahwa strategi pembelajaran Mind Mapping lebih efektif dibandingkan dengan    strategi pembelajaran konvensional, dan adanya hubungan  interaksi antara strategi pembelajaran Mind Mapping dan rasa percaya diri terhadap kemampuan berbicara siswa dalam pembelajaran bahasa Inggris

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui bagaimana penerapan media gambar dalam pengembangan kemampuan berbahasa Inggris siswa di SMPK Santa Ursula Ende Kelurahan Onekore Kecamatan Ende Tengah Kabupaten Ende Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Timur. Permasalahan dalam penelitian ini adalah terdapat anak yang memiliki kemampuan berbahasa Inggris yang sangat baik serta pembelajaran di SMPK Santa Ursula Ende Kelurahan Onekore Kecamatan Ende Tengah Kabupaten Ende Nusa Tenggara Timur dengan menggunakan media gambar yang bervariasi kepada siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian kualitatif deskriptif, dilaksanakan di SMPK Santa Ursula Ende Kelurahan Onekore Kecamatan Ende Tengah Kabupaten Ende Nusa Tenggara Timur. Subyek penelitian ini adalah guru kelas mata pelajaran Bahasa Inggris, Informan penelitian ini adalah kepala sekolah dan siswa kelas Bahasa Inggris. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah observasi, dokumentasi, dan wawancara. Untuk mengecek keabsahan data menggunakan teknik trianggulasi metode dan sumber, sedangkan teknik analisis data menggunakan model analisis data interaktif yaitu dimulai dari reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa adanya peningkatan pengembangan kemampuan berbahasa Inggris siswa melalui media gambar di SMPK Santa Ursula Ende Kelurahan Onekore Kecamatan Ende Tengah Kabupaten Ende Provinsi Nusa Tenggara Timur.

Abstract

This Community Service Activity aimed at introducing English to young children as beginners through audio-visual media. The learning media was implemented audio-visually with 15 students at TK Maria Virgo 2 Ende. The methods used were two phases, namely preparation and implementation phases. During the learning process, learning materials were presented in the form of videos displayed in LCD regarding alphabeth, colors, and numbers. The results of this program show that the process of introducing English is very enjoyable and students are able to follow it well.

Abstract

This study aims to ascertain and examine the significance of the various types of signs exhibited on Keda, the Ende Lio traditional house in Ngalupolo Village, Ndona District, Ende Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province, Indonesia. This study employed a descriptive qualitative approach where the researchers conducted a thorough analysis of the data based on the Pierce's triadic meaning, adhering to two general steps of data analysis. First, the researchers collected data through observation and interviews. Second, they identified the signs in each part of the Keda building. Third, they analyzed the data based on the existing semiotic theory. The findings and analysis of this research show that there are nine sign models found in the Keda traditional house. The researchers also found that the meanings of these signs have their own meanings and social meanings that describe the routines of the local community as well as the preservation of local wisdom and ancestral heritage originating from ancestors since ancient times.

Abstract

Nduaria Village, located in the Kelimutu sub-district of Ende Regency, East Nusa Tenggara Province, is predominantly an agricultural community. The primary goal of KKN program was to apply the knowledge gained during their university studies and address the needs of the local community. The KKN program also aimed to develop students' character, leadership, and social skills. Despite the short duration of the program, students were able to identify key issues in the village, such as water shortages, lack of environmental cleanliness, and low English language proficiency among students. The implementation involved various activities, including educational workshops and tree planting. The students held English language lessons for primary school students, as well as early childhood education programs for preschool and kindergarten children. In addition, they organized socialization on environmental cleanliness and anti-bullying awareness for the village schools. A significant environmental initiative was the planting of trees to help address the village's water scarcity. The KKN program also included communal cleaning activities, aimed at raising awareness about environmental hygiene. The program was well-received by the local community, with high participation from village officials, youths, and school children. Through the KKN, students were able to make a positive contribution to the village's development in the areas of education and environmental conservation, while also gaining valuable real-world experience. Overall, the program helped foster enthusiasm among the students and local community to work together for a better future. The Community Service Program (KKN) is a tangible manifestation of the responsibilities of lecturers and students in serving the community. The purpose of this service is to enhance students' awareness and empathy, instill values such as work ethic, perseverance, responsibility, leadership, independence, and entrepreneurship, as well as to contribute by solving problems in the community.
