Abstract

Diseases arise due to unbalanced interactions, namely pathogens, hosts and the environment. This collapse will affect the increase or decrease in disease in fish. This research aims to identify parasites and analyze water quality in Carp Fish hatcheries. Carp seed samples were taken randomly in research containers. The water quality parameters observed consisted of temperature, pH, DO, nitrate, nitrite, and ammonia. This research was conducted for one month at the Tatelu Freshwater Aquaculture Center (BPBAT). The results of the research show that there are three types of parasites found in the gills, mucus, and fins of Carp Fish, namely Tricodina sp, Dactylogyrus sp, and Gyrodactylus sp.

Abstract

The cultivation of vannamei shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) requires attention to the quality of the rearing water to prevent the occurrence of Vibrio sp. bacterial infections. This study aims to analyze the abundance of Vibrio sp., Total Organic Matter (TOM), and the relationship between organic matter and the abundance of Vibrio sp. in the cultivation media. The research stages include sample preparation, KMnO4 standardization, TOM measurement, equipment sterilization, TCBS media preparation, bacterial inoculation, and the enumeration of Vibrio sp. The data obtained were analyzed for correlation using the SPSS26 application. The results showed that TOM levels in the water samples increased as the cultivation period progressed, with the lowest TOM level being 105 ppm at the early DOC and the highest 223 ppm at the late DOC. The abundance of Vibrio sp. fluctuated, with the lowest being 2,0×102 CFU/mL at DOC 54 and the highest at DOC 89, reaching 3.0×103 CFU/mL. The correlation value between organic matter and Vibrio sp. abundance was 0.486, indicating a moderate relationship and showing a positive linear correlation, meaning the relationship was directly proportional. This study shows that TOM positively correlates with the abundance of Vibrio sp. bacteria in intensive vannamei shrimp farming.

Abstract

Small pelagic fisheries are highly sensitive to oceanographic variability, particularly sea surface temperature (SST) and primary productivity. The Banda Sea, located in eastern Indonesia, represents one of the country’s most productive yet understudied pelagic fishing grounds. This study examines the relationship between satellite-derived SST and chlorophyll-a concentration and the catch variability of Decapterus spp. in the Banda Sea. Monthly fisheries landing data from Banda Fishing Port in 2024 were integrated with Aqua MODIS Level 3–4 SST and chlorophyll-a products using spatial analysis and multiple linear regression. SST ranged from 25.3 to 33.6 °C, while chlorophyll-a concentrations varied between 0.04 and 13.78 mg.m-³, exhibiting strong seasonal patterns. The highest Decapterus catch (740,374 kg) occurred during the first transition season, coinciding with moderate SST and elevated chlorophyll-a levels. Regression analysis revealed strong correlations between catch and SST (r = 0.778) and chlorophyll-a (r = 0.775), indicating a significant influence of oceanographic conditions on fish availability. This study provides one of the first quantitative assessments linking satellite-derived environmental variability to small pelagic fisheries in the Banda Sea. The findings highlight the potential application of satellite-based monitoring to support ecosystem-based and climate-adaptive fisheries management in tropical marine environments.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan komposisi terbaik tingkat kecernaan pakan dan tingkat penyerapan nutrisi pakan pada benih ikan mas. Penelitian ini berbentuk Rancangan Acak lengkap (RAL) Faktorial dengan 2 faktor yaitu glutamin dengan taraf (0%/kg pakan, 1%/kg pakan, 2%/kg pakan dan 3%/kg pakan) dan probiotik dengan taraf (0 ml/kg pakan,5 ml/kg pakan, 10 ml kg/pakan dan 15 ml/kg pakan). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pengaruh faktor glutamin dan probiotik secara simultan berpengaruh signifikan (P<0.05) terhadap tingkat konsumsi pakan secara keseluruhan. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut diperoleh kombinasi terbaik adalah dosis 2% glutamin di tambah 10 ml/kg pakan dengan tingkat kecernaan dan penyerapan pakan terdiri atas Tingkat Komsumsi Pakan (TKP)142,66 ± 2,36 g, Daya Cerna Protein (DP) 94,13 ± 1,05%, Efisiensi Pemanfaatan Pakan (EPP) 93,83 ± 9,89%, Protein Efisiensi Rasio (PER) 2,93 ± 0,31%, dan Retensi Nutrien Protein (RN) 156,69 ± 16,51%. Dengan demikian kombinasi suplementasi glutamin 2% dan probiotik 10 ml/kg pakan direkomendasikan sebagai strategi nutrisi efektif untuk meningkatkan efisiensi pemanfaatan dan performa pertumbuhan benih ikan mas secara optimal.
