Abstract

This study examines the impact of Christian Religious Education (PAK) on human resource development and economic empowerment among congregations via the wooden house sector in GMIM Sion Woloan. Prior research has underscored PAK's substantial impact on moral and character development in familial contexts; nevertheless, its relevance to particular economic behaviors is still inadequately examined. This study examines how PAK influences the development of positive attitudes towards work and social responsibility within family life and its effect on enhancing economic welfare. The research utilizes a descriptive qualitative methodology, employing a phenomenological method to document the subjective experiences of 30 participants, comprising parents, children, and church leaders engaged in PAK activities and the wooden house industry. Data were gathered via semi-structured interviews and focus group discussions, concentrating on the integration of PAK ideals into quotidian economic practices. Thematic analysis was utilized to discern emergent themes concerning the interplay between religious education, human resource development, and economic activities. The findings indicate that PAK cultivates a robust work ethic and interpersonal connections within families, enhancing both personal character development and economic advancement. The results underscore the necessity for intensified collaboration between religious organizations and local industry to optimize the potential of PAK in improving community welfare.

Abstract

Abstract

From a review of previous research on global reactions to food crises, most studies have focused on economic aspects. This review identified the following gaps: (1) There is no study discussing the synergy between the church and the government in addressing food crises; (2) No research is available on the role and social anticipation of communities in the context of food crises. This research is urgently needed because synergy between the government and the church is crucial in the context of food security in North Sulawesi. The objective of this research is to fill this research gap through a holistic and comprehensive approach to the synergy between the Provincial Government of North Sulawesi and the Evangelical Christian Church in Minahasa in anticipating the global food crisis by enhancing farming and livestock activities in North Sulawesi. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative design through content analysis combined with a missiology analysis approach of the church. Data collection was carried out using participatory observation, interviews, and literature studies.  The novelty of this research includes: (1) The synergy between the Provincial Government of North Sulawesi and the Evangelical Christian Church in Minahasa in responding to and anticipating the global food crisis; (2) The combination of content analysis methods with church missiology analysis as a new approach. The output of this research is a conceptual framework and a strong missiological approach strategy in building and optimizing relevant and effective synergy.

Abstract

This article presents a contextual theological review regarding the meaning of Tamo Cake in the Tulude Tradition and its impact on the growth of faith in the GMIM Batu Karang Bualo Congregation, Bunaken Region. Tamo cake, which is made from sticky rice, sugar, coconut and coconut milk, not only serves as a dish in Tulude ceremonies, but also holds the noble values that are the cultural heritage of the people of North Nusa. This research aims to maintain the Tulude Tradition, which includes Tamo Cake, as a means of increasing the growth of Christian faith. Using qualitative methods and in-depth analysis, this article links the Tamo Cake to Christian values, highlighting how the meaning of this cake can strengthen social bonds and increase the spiritual awareness of the congregation. Tamo cake is a symbol of unity and harmony, which is able to penetrate differences in a pluralistic society. The research results show that Tamo Cake in the Tulude Tradition not only functions as ritual food, but also as a medium for communicating theological and educational values that are relevant to the context of congregational life in relation to Contextual Theology and the cultivation of Christian values for Christian Religious Education. Thus, this tradition has great potential in building faith and harmony between religious communities. This article ends with a conclusion that emphasizes the importance of maintaining traditions as part of a community's cultural identity and spirituality.
