Abstract

Kota Lama Semarang is one of the cultural heritage sites that maintains its building facade as a characteristic. However, the arrangement of landscape elements in the street is not in accordance with the principles of cultural heritage. Especially on Letjend Suprapto Street, where the street became the center of activity also the main traffic in the Kota Lama Semarang area. The purpose of this study is to find out wich landscape elements were used in the past that can be applied to current conditions to restore the image of being “Little Netherlands”. The method used is qualitative descriptive method with data acquisition through interviews. The result is to find out what kind of landscape elements used in ancient times as recommendations in designing the street.

Abstract

Purna Bhakti Pertiwi Museum is a museum that was established as a manifestation of the gratitude of Soeharto and his family to God Almighty, as well as appreciation for the support given by the Indonesian people and abroad. The form of gratitude is depicted through the concept of symbolism applied to the museum area, one of which is through landscape elements. Symbolism is a concept of human thought that is realized through symbols. Collecting data in this study using the interview method and identifying the symbolism contained in the elements of the museum landscape using Symbolism in Javanese culture which is classified into Symbolism in Religion, Symbolism in Culture, and Symbolism in Science. Based on this research, it was revealed that the landscape element was used as a way for him to be grateful for the blessings and safety bestowed by the Creator, an effort to respect and preserve the culture of his ancestors as a Javanese person, and as a medium of education for the Indonesian people.

Abstract

Pari Island is one of around 110 islands in the Thousand Islands cluster that are inhabited by locals. This island with an area of 41.32 hectares contains many sorts of abundant natural resources and offers diverse tourism potentials including marine tourism, nature tourism and education. In addition to its coastal habitat, Pari Island is home to mangrove ecosystems, seagrass beds, and coral reefs, which captivate both local and international tourists. As a tourist destination, the management of nature tourism on Pari Island has not yet been completely established, therefore visitor attention is primarily centered on other tourist attractions in the Thousand Islands. The underlying issue of this research are what is the current state of nature tourism on Pari Island? Is there any further tourism potential that can be developed? The aims of the research are to assess the existing condition of nature tourism on Pari Island- both physically and in terms of management, and carry out identification of further nature tourism potentials on Pari Island. This research uses qualitative descriptive method based on a case study approach. Analysis of Operational Areas of Nature Tourism Objects and Attractions is used to define the strategy for developing Pari Island's nature tourism potential by analyzing both internal and external tourism potential. The outcomes of the research are to promote the potential of Pari Island to develop nature tourism area as a whole that incorporates all stakeholders and benefits all parties involved.

Abstract

The quality of the urban environment has become a major concern in various cities around the world. Rapid growth and urbanization in urban areas have had serious impacts on the quality of air, water and other environmental aspects. In this context, Neighborhood Park has become the focus of attention as an effort to mitigate these negative impacts and improve the quality of the urban environment. This research aims to examine the usefulness of Neighborhood Park in improving environmental quality, using a case study at Alam Sutera Housing, South Tangerang. Through field data collection, interviews, and data analysis, this research attempts to identify possible positive impacts associated with Neighborhood Park within this region. Factors such as their impact on air quality, water quality, carbon sequestration, and community social welfare are also explored. It is hoped that the results of this research will provide valuable insights for stakeholders in Alam Sutera Housing and similar urban areas. This study also contributes to global understanding of the important role of Neighborhood Parks in addressing the challenges of the modern urban environment. With an emphasis on the development and maintenance of sustainable green open spaces, this research provides a basis for taking better action to support environmental quality and community well-being in rapidly growing urban areas.
