Abstract

Abstract: The University of Indonesia (UI) is the benchmark for all universities in Indonesia. The University of Indonesia has several faculties and general (supporting) areas. One of them is the Library as an educational area, the University of Indonesia Library is expected to have more advantages compared to other educational areas. The incomplete supporting functions in the University of Indonesia Library Area and the untapped potential such as the Kenanga Lake in the same area can be a topic in developing the design. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to examine the user's perception of the function of open space which is qualitative in nature and to map the user's behavioral tendencies. This is to find out the guidelines for library landscape design based on visitors' perceptions of the function of open spaces, where the knowledge, experience, and needs of visitors will be used as the basis for measuring the design of the library landscape. This study used a qualitative method with stratified random sampling using a closed Likert scale (1-5) questionnaire with primary and secondary data collection. Thus, this research and landscape design is expected to create an educational environment that becomes a better place to learn. Abstract

This community service initiative aimed to strengthen rural economies by introducing and empowering local communities to adopt cooperative business models. Limited economic opportunities and fragmented individualistic approaches hinder sustainable development in many rural areas. This project sought to address these challenges by providing training on cooperative principles, governance, and practical business strategies. The method employed Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA), engaging local participants in identifying community resources, challenges, and potential cooperative opportunities. Over three months, participants attended interactive workshops, field visits, and group discussions, leading to an increased understanding of cooperatives. The results demonstrated significant improvement in participants' knowledge, with a marked shift in mindset from individualistic to collective economic action. Several groups also began drafting cooperative bylaws and sought legal recognition for their ventures. While the initiative was successful, it highlighted the need for continuous support and follow-up to ensure long-term sustainability. The project contributes to rural development by demonstrating the potential of cooperatives as a tool for inclusive economic growth, emphasizing the importance of local ownership and community-driven solutions. Future initiatives should incorporate ongoing mentorship and involve local leaders more deeply in the facilitation process to ensure lasting impact.

Abstract

The Batujaya Temple site has the potential to attract both tangible (tangible) and intangible (intangible) attractions. So, it has a big opportunity to attract domestic and foreign tourists. To achieve this goal, a tourism strategy is needed in developing promotions on the site so that it resonates more and attracts tourists coming from various regions throughout Indonesia and abroad. The problem arises from the existence of a site that is only known to a limited number of local people around the site who live there, so that people who come from the community are limited, whereas with the discovery of a high value site, the existence of the site needs to be known and echoed throughout the world and known to the wider community. The aim of this research is to increase the number of people visiting the site. This research is an exploratory qualitative description, discussing tourism development at the Batujaya Temple Site in West Karawang. The data collection methods used consisted of: field observation, interviews, and literature study. The results of the research are the composition of strategic efforts consisting of the development of the 4A concept and sourced from field analysis: (1) Development of cultural tourism through social media, (2) Development of infrastructure, namely accessibility such as special transportation, directions, (3) Development of accessibility aspects, and (4) service amenities such as services such as homestays, information and security centers, craft centers. So that the goal of developing and increasing the cultural tourism attraction at the Batujaya Temple Site will be achieved for all domestic and foreign tourists.

Abstract

Green infrastructure development is an urgent need in metropolitan buffer zones such as Tangerang Regency, which face pressures from urbanization, industrialization, and environmental degradation. This study aims to evaluate the construction and development of green infrastructure in Tangerang Regency, focusing on its ecological, social, and governance functions. Using a qualitative approach with a case study design, the research was conducted over six months through in-depth interviews with stakeholders, field observations of green open spaces, city parks, and infiltration wells, and a review of policy documents and official reports. The results indicate that green infrastructure has had a positive impact on reducing microclimate temperatures, increasing social interaction, and partially reducing stormwater runoff. However, its distribution remains unequal, maintenance is minimal, community participation is unequal, and coordination between agencies tends to be fragmented. The study's conclusions emphasize that the success of green infrastructure cannot be measured solely by physical achievements; instead, sustainability, equitable access, and multi-stakeholder collaboration must be considered. This research's contribution lies in providing a multidimensional evaluation framework that can serve as a reference for local governments and stakeholders in designing more equitable, inclusive, and sustainable green infrastructure policies.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

In rural areas of Indonesia, such as Nagari Batagak, West Sumatra, limited access to health services emphasizes the need for promotive and preventive interventions. The program aims to increase awareness of regular health check-ups and the prevention of degenerative diseases. The program method was implemented on June 16, 2025, involving 35 elderly people aged 60–80 years in Jorong Sawah Liek, Nagari Batagak, Agam Regency, West Sumatra. Activities included basic health checks (blood pressure, blood sugar, Body Mass Index, mid-upper arm circumference), nutritional screening (MNA), sarcopenia screening (SARC-F and handgrip strength), and cognitive screening (MMSE). Health education was provided on healthy aging, nutrition, rational drug use, and sarcopenia prevention. Data analysis was conducted using frequency distribution, univariate, and bivariate analyses. The results showed that the majority of participants were aged 60–70 years (71.4%) and female (82.9%). Obesity was not significantly associated with blood pressure, blood sugar, cholesterol, or uric acid levels. However, older adults without obesity remain at risk for hypertension, diabetes, hypercholesterolemia, and hyperuricemia. Handgrip strength testing showed that 56% of participants experienced muscle weakness, with a slightly higher prevalence in men (60%) than in women (55%). These findings indicate a high risk of sarcopenia, which increases susceptibility to mobility limitations and the risk of falls. Therefore, community-based health screening and education are important regardless of obesity status.

Abstract

This study explores the development of Batik Village Culture as a unique urban tourist destination in Jakarta, focusing on how traditional batik craftsmanship can be preserved and revitalized within a modern metropolitan context. The research aims to analyze the strategies, challenges, and socio-cultural impacts of transforming Jakarta’s batik villages into centers of creative-based tourism that combine cultural preservation with economic empowerment. Using a qualitative descriptive method, data were collected through in-depth interviews, field observations, and documentation from artisans, government officials, and tourism stakeholders. The findings reveal that the Batik Village initiative effectively fosters community participation, strengthens local identity, and stimulates creative entrepreneurship, yet faces constraints related to policy coordination, marketing limitations, and authenticity management. The study concludes that sustaining urban cultural tourism requires adaptive collaboration between stakeholders and continuous innovation that respects traditional values. Its contribution lies in providing a model of how cultural heritage can evolve within the creative economy framework, offering insights for sustainable urban tourism development.
