Abstract

Research on  the antioxidant activity test of total flavonoids  mistletoe leaves (Dendrophthoe pentandra (L.) Miq) from false ashoke tree (Polyalthia longifolia) had been done. This study aimed to determine antioxidant activity of total flavonoids  mistletoe leaves based on reduction method of free radicals 2.2- diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) 200 ppm using a UV Visible Spectrophotometer at maximum wavelength 516 nm was obtained Inhibition Concentration (IC50) amount 6,16 mg / L with the reduction  percentage of 98.61% at 100 ppm which means it had a very strong antioxidant activity. Abstract

Batak Onion (Allium chinense G. Don) is one of the species of Allium plant which is used as a flavor enhancer typical for North Sumatran Batak cuisine. In addition, the Batak onion is believed to be a health herbal remedy such as an antibacterial agent. This research aims to determine antibacterial activity of methanol extracts of Batak leeks (Allium Chinense G. Don) on Streptococcus mutans and Bacillus cereus as Positive Gram Bacteria.  The method  was the agar diffusion method. Methanol extracts of Batak leeks were diluted using Dimethyl sulphoxide (DMSO) with concentration variations (0.88, 1.66 and 2.5)%. DMSO also was used as negative blank. The research model was in Vitro experimental research model.  The results showed that methanol extract of Batak leek had antibacterial activity against S. mutans with inhibition zone diameter (5,10.5,12.7)mm and B. cereus with inhibition zone diameter (10,12.4 , 12.2)mm. The inhibition zone diameter (0) mm for the DMSO as negative blank.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat di tengah pandemi corona virus disease-19 (COVID-19) sepatutnya di lakukan secara luas, mengingat masih banyak masyarakat yang kurang mematuhi protokol kesehatan dalam rangka mencegah penyebaran COVID-19. Pemerintah Indonesia telah menetapkan langkah-langkah dan upaya pencegahan pandemi COVID-19, salah satunya adalah dengan mensosialisasikan gerakan memakai masker terutama jika berada di tempat umum. Salah satu tempat umum yang berpotensi dalam penyebaran COVID 19 ini adalah pasar dimana di pasar berkumpul masyarakat dari latar belakang yang berbeda-beda dengan kondisi kesehatan yang kita belum ketahui secara pasti. Pasar merupakan tempat untuk melakukan transaksi jual beli dalam memenuhi kebutuhan hidupnya baik kebutuhan primer, sekunder dan tersier. Untuk itu perlu dilakukan sosialisasi untuk pencegahan dengan menggunakan masker bagi pedagang maupun pembeli yang melakukan transaksi jual beli tersebut. Tujuan dari pengabdian ini adalah untuk mencegah dan memutus mata rantai penularan COVID-19 di Pasar Desa Durin Tonggal. Pengabdian pada Masyarakat dilaksanakan dalam bentuk penyuluhan penggunaan masker sekaligus membagikan masker secara gratis kepada pedagang pasar. Metode yang digunakan dalam pelaksanaan pengabdian ini adalah edukasi kepada pedagang pasar dengan menghimbau pentingnya menggunakan masker. Setelah diberikan edukasi dan pembagian masker, pedagang sudah mulai sadar pentingnya penggunaan masker di Pasar

Abstract

This research aims to determine toxicity activity test of methanol and ethyl acetate total from Batak leeks (Allium chinense G. Don). The method was using the Brine Shrimph Letality Test (BSLT). Methanol and ethyl acetate extracts of Batak leeks were diluted using salt solution with concentration variations (10, 100, 1000)ppm. Salt solution also was used as negative blank. The research model was in Vitro experimental research model. The results showed that methanol extract of Batak leeks on 6576578 mg / L which was non-toxic and LC50 on ethyl acetate extract of Batak leeks was 16.59 mg / L which was a strong toxic compound.

Abstract

Penelitian tentang aktivitas antioksidan dan antibakteri dari ekstrak kasar metanol daun sisik naga (Drymoglossum piloselloides (L) Presl) telah dilakukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas antioksidan dari ekstrak kasar metanol daun sisik naga oleh metode peredaman radikal bebas oleh 0,5 mM 1,1-difenil-2-pikrilhidrazil (DPPH) 40 ppm menggunakan Spektrofotometer UV Visibel pada panjang gelombang 515-517 nm diperoleh IC50 sebesar 9,7 mg / L dengan persen peredaman tertinggi sebesar 99,0574 % pada konsentrasi 100 ppm pada panjang gelombang 517 nm merupakan zat yang memiliki aktivitas antioksidan yang paling kuat. Untuk menguji aktivitas antimikroba ekstrak kasar metanol daun sisik naga dengan Metode Difusi Agar memberikan zona hambat pada S. mutans ekstrak konsentrasi masing-masing 1%, 2% dan 3% adalah 0,55; 0,56 dan 0, 83 , E. Coli adalah 1,03; 1,30 dan 1,34 , di mana lebih besar dari konsentrasi ekstrak meningkatkan penghambatan S. mutans dan E. coli sehingga efektif untuk dikembangkan sebagai agen antibakteri. Abstract

Penelitian mengenai uji aktivitas toksisitas dan antimikroba flavonoid total daun benalu (Dendrophthoe pentandra (L) Miq) dari pohon glodokan (Polyalthia longifolia) telah dilakukan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas toksisitas dari flavonoid total daun benalu pohon glodokan berdasarkan metode Brine Shrimp Lethality Test (BSLT) menggunakan larva udang Artemia salina Leach diperoleh Lethal Concentration (LC50) sebesar 30.06 mg/L yang berarti memiliki aktivitas toksisitas yang toksik sementara untuk aktivitas antimikroba dari flavonoid total daun benalu pohon glodokan dengan Metode Difusi Agar diperoleh diameter zona hambat pada Streptococcus mutans pada konsentrasi sampel flavonoid total pohon glodokan 3%, 6% dan 9 % adalah 6; 9 dan 17.25 mm, pada Escherichia coli adalah 3.55; 4.25 dan 9.15 mm dan pada Candida albicans adalah 8.30; 4 dan 5.30 mm dimana semakin besar konsentrasi maka daya hambat pada S. mutans dan E. coli semakin besar namun pada C. albicans kurang mempengaruhi tetapi memiliki aktivitas hambat yang baik sehingga efektif dikembangkan sebagai zat antimikroba.

Abstract

Density are a physical parameter of Crude Palm Oil (CPO) quality determination which done by gravimetric method (weighing sample in a picnometer 50 mL, g/mL). Density is affected by the temperature. High temperature in CPO may cause the density become less by a little. But if we get them in lower temperature will make them in solid form and this situation is undesirable in trade industry. High temperature may cause hydrolysis reaction that add free fatty acid (FFA) content. The density changing was made with variation temperature (450C, 500C, 550C, 600C dan 650C) and FFA concentration (2%,3%,4%,5% and 6%). The result in this research was high concentration of FFA will make CPO density decreased with inreasing temperature. The linier relationship happened in same temperature (450C), the CPO density with free fatty acid content were 2%, 3%, 4%, 5% and 6% were ?= 0,8934; 0,8391; 0,8926; 0,8921 and 0,8920), so did the temperature at 500C, 550C, 600C dan 650C Keywords: Density, CPO, FFA, Temperature

Abstract

Abstract:            Research on antimicrobial and toxicity tests of flavonoid total Dendrophthoe pentandra (L) Miq from false ashoke tree (Polyalthia longifolia) have been done. This study aims to determine the activity of toxicity of total flavonoid of Dendrophthoe pentandra (L) Miq as mistletoe of false ashoke tree (P. longifolia) based on Brine Shrimp Lethality Test (BSLT) method using Artemia salina Leach shrimp larvae obtained Lethal Concentration (LC50) of 30.06 mg / L which means strong toxic activity. Antimicrobial test of flavonoid total has used the diffusion method in order to obtain the inhibit zone diameter on Streptococcus mutans at the total flavonoids concentration of 3%, 6% and 9% were 6; 9 and 17.25 mm, in Escherichia coli is 3.55; 4.25 and 9.15 mm and at Candida albicans is 8.30; 4 and 5.30 mm where S. mutans and E. coli are greater but C. albicans less affect but still have good inhibitory activity so effective to be developed as  antimicrobial agents.Keywords:false ashoke leaves, antimicrobial, toxicity, diffusion and BSLT

Abstract

The research with titled "Antioxidant activity test of ethyl acetate total extract from Batak leeks (Allium. chinense G. Don)" had been done. For the antioxidant activity test using UV Visible Spectrophotometer with 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) as a scavenging agent obtained IC50 ethyl acetate extract total batak leeks amounted to 52.39% mg / L which stated that the extract was strong antioxidant.Keywords:Activities; antioxidants; Batak leeks
