Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of Student Teams Achievement Division (STAD) learning model assisted by Kahoot interactive media on the interest and learning outcomes of geography students in class X SMA Negeri 1 Batang Anai. This research uses a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design in the form of pretest-posttest control group design. The research sample consisted of two classes, namely the experimental class using the STAD model and Kahoot, and the control class using the lecture method. The instruments used included objective tests, learning interest questionnaires, observation, and documentation. The results showed that the Kahoot-assisted STAD model had a positive effect on increasing student interest in learning, with most students in the very high interest category. In addition, learning outcomes also increased significantly, indicated by a higher average posttest score in the experimental class and an N-Gain value of 71.11% which is in the moderately effective category. Thus, the application of the Kahoot-assisted STAD model is proven to be able to significantly improve interest and learning outcomes in geography.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of applying the Guided Inquiry model assisted by Educaplay Game on hydrological material to improve Critical Thinking and Learning Outcomes of SMAN 3 Bukittinggi students. This type of research is experimental research using purposive sampling technique. The samples in this study were X E4 class students as the experimental class who were given treatment using the Guided Inquiry model assisted by Educaplay Game and X E1 students as the control class. Data collection using pre-test and post-test instruments in the form of multiple choice and essay that has been tested for validity and reliability. The result of this study is that there is an effect of Guided Inquiry on hydrosphere material on Critical Thinking. Independent Sample t-Test analysis used to measure Critical Thinking where the significance value (Sig. 2-tailed) of 0.000 is smaller than 0.05 therefore Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. For learning outcomes, the average post-test acquisition of the experimental class was 85.2 and the control class was 82. Data analysis using the Paired T-Test test from the calculated data obtained a significance level of 0.001 which is smaller than 0.05 indicates that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted.

Abstract

The objective for this study is to address existing knowledge gaps by developing a reliable land cover identification approach using Sentinel-1 imagery to support sustainable environmental management in the Lake Maninjau area. This area is significant due to its ecological, economic, and social functions for the community. The research method employed entails the interpretation of objects on the earth's surface in satellite images. This process necessitates the identification of these objects through visual recognition, based on the characteristics or attributes inherent to each object. The visual interpretation of Sentinel 1 SAR (synthetic aperture radar) data utilized Google Earth as a geographical reference platform. The results of this study demonstrate the capability of Sentinel-1 data in distinguishing major land-cover classes, including water bodies, settlements, rice fields, aquaculture ponds, and vegetation. Sentinel-1 is an effective and efficient data source for land cover monitoring, especially in areas frequently covered by clouds.
