Abstract

Modern industrial development increasingly demands that organizations manage not only operational efficiency but also the quality of relationships with diverse stakeholders including employees, business partners, and local communities. This study examines the implementation of a hospitality approach in building industrial relations within the non-tourism sector. The hospitality approach is understood here as a social practice that foregrounds empathy, friendliness, attentiveness, and the creation of positive experiences in human interaction. This study employs a qualitative approach through a systematic literature review, drawing on theories of organizational communication, two-way symmetrical communication, employee experience, conflict management, and hospitality in modern management. The study aims to describe the concept of the hospitality approach in non-tourism industrial relations, analyze its role in fostering humanistic and participatory organizational communication, and examine its relevance to both internal and external organizational relationships. The findings demonstrate that the hospitality approach strengthens industrial relations through dialogic, participatory, and empathy-based communication. Its implementation spans multiple dimensions: enhancing employee experience and engagement, building trust-based business-to-business relationships, developing participatory CSR programs, managing conflict constructively, and embracing digital hospitality that balances technology with human-centered interaction. Despite challenges posed by hierarchical organizational cultures and productivity-oriented mindsets, the hospitality approach proves capable of transforming industrial relations from a transactional to a relational model, ultimately supporting long-term organizational sustainability.

Abstract

Competition among private colleges in attracting new students has continued to intensify along with the increasing number of higher education institutions and changes in the behavior of younger generations in the digital era. These conditions require universities to develop marketing strategies that are more adaptive, innovative, and oriented toward the needs of prospective students. This article aims to analyze the marketing strategies of private higher education institutions in 2026 through approaches such as institutional positioning, the utilization of digital media, target audience identification, the development of relationships with the community, and the organization of campus events as promotional media. This study employs a qualitative descriptive method using a library research approach through the analysis of various theories of higher education marketing, findings from previous studies, and the phenomena of higher education marketing in the digital era. The findings indicate that marketing strategies for private universities should not rely solely on digital promotion, but also need to be supported by institutional differentiation, experiential marketing, the strengthening of academic reputation, alumni engagement, high-quality services, and campus activities capable of creating positive experiences for prospective students. In addition, the utilization of digital technology and data analytics has become an important factor in understanding prospective students’ behavior and improving the effectiveness of marketing communication. Through integrated and adaptive marketing strategies, private higher education institutions can enhance their competitiveness while strengthening their institutional image amid increasingly competitive higher education environments.

Abstract

The rapid growth of the halal industry and rising religious awareness among Muslim consumers have pushed companies to move beyond purely commercial marketing toward strategies that also address consumers’ spiritual values, known as Religious Marketing Communication. Although prior studies confirm that religiosity shapes halal purchase intention and consumer trust, none have specifically examined how religious values are operationalized within brand activation strategies for Islamic and halal products, particularly in Indonesia. This study analyzes the concept of Religious Marketing Communication, examines its relevance to brand activation in Islamic and halal products, and describes its implementation strategies. A qualitative library research method was used, analyzing secondary data from books and journal articles through content analysis. Findings show that effective brand activation depends on authentic, ethical communication aligned with sharia principles, supported by storytelling, community empowerment, responsible digital engagement, and consistency between brand messages and business practices; religiosity also influences purchasing decisions, trust, message effectiveness, and loyalty, while inauthentic use of religious symbols risks consumer backlash. These findings contribute theoretically to marketing communication literature and offer practical guidance for marketers and halal industry regulators. In conclusion, Religious Marketing Communication is a strategic approach for building authentic, long-term brand-consumer relationships through the integration of spiritual and ethical values.
