Abstract

The Community Service Activity was held on June 20, 2024, at the Institut Bisnis dan Komunikasi Swadaya - Jakarta, with the theme "Greenpreneur: Building Business from Plastic Waste," aimed to enhance participants' understanding and awareness of environmental management, specifically through the utilization of plastic waste. This initiative focuses on developing business opportunities based on MSMEs by transforming plastic waste into valuable products. The program included several subthemes, such as strategies for managing superior human resources for MSMEs, calculating production costs for flower arrangements, processing plastic waste into handicrafts as a foundation for new entrepreneurship for academic communities, calculating income tax for MSMEs that produce recycled plastic, and training on making flowers from used plastic bottles. Through this activity, participants gained insights into environmental awareness, plastic waste processing techniques, and skills for starting independent businesses. This activity successfully improved the competencies of students and the community in environmentally-based entrepreneurship, enhancing their courage and skills to start and manage MSMEs effectively.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the contribution of bio-inspired computing towards the sustainability of manufacturing systems in the context of Industry 4.0. Using quantitative and design approaches, data were collected from 100 professional respondents in the manufacturing sector through questionnaires and structured interviews. Statistical analysis was performed using Pearson correlation, linear regression, t-test, and ANOVA with the help of SPSS software. The results showed a very strong and significant relationship between the use of bio-inspired algorithms, such as Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO), with energy efficiency (r = 0.872), production level (r = 0.723), and environmental sustainability (r = 0.790). Linear regression showed that the use of the technology explained 76.1% of the variability in energy efficiency (R² = 0.761; p < 0.001). The ANOVA results also showed significant differences between groups of technology users in terms of efficiency achievements. These findings indicate that bio-inspired computing can be an important strategy in digital transformation and more sustainable decision-making. This study contributes to developing multi-objective optimization theory and provides practical implications for industrial management in implementing adaptive and environmentally friendly technologies.

This research includes quantitative research. The population in this study were 160 employees of SIT Al Ishlah Gorontalo. The sample in this study was 110 people who were determined based on the sample table by Isaac and Michael. This study uses a Structural Equation Model (SEM) approach with a measurement model using the Lisrel 8.80 program. The results of this study indicate that there is no influence between each recruitment and selection variable on organizational commitment or performance in fulfilling quality standards specific to SIT, there is an influence between training variables on organizational commitment and performance in fulfilling quality standards specific to SIT and there is an influence between each variable between each recruitment, selection and training variable on performance in fulfilling quality standards specific to SIT mediated by organizational commitment.

Abstract

Employee performance is a critical factor in determining organizational success, particularly in educational institutions where teacher and staff performance directly impacts the quality of educational services and public trust. However, performance variations among employees at the Darul Fikri Foundation in Makassar indicate that performance is not yet fully optimal and consistent, suggesting the need to examine broader organizational factors beyond individual capabilities. This research aims to analyze the influence of organizational culture on employee performance with collectivism as a mediating variable at the Darul Fikri Foundation in Makassar. The research approach uses a quantitative method with regression-based data analysis techniques and mediation tests to examine the direct and indirect relationships between variables. The results show that organizational culture has a positive and significant effect on employee performance, and has a strong influence on collectivism. Collectivism is also proven to have a positive influence on employee performance and acts as a mediating variable in the relationship between organizational culture and performance. These findings indicate that organizational cultural values that emphasize togetherness, cooperation, and collective responsibility can increase employee collective orientation, which ultimately has an impact on improved performance. Thus, strengthening a consistent organizational culture oriented towards collective values is an important factor in creating optimal and sustainable employee performance, especially in the context of educational institutions.
