Abstract

Alumni Family Association (IKA) of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) Hasanuddin University (UNHAS) involving members from representatives of State (PTN) and Private Universities (PTS), and the Regional Management Council (DPD) of Indonesian Online Journalists (JOIN) Bone Regency, South Sulawesi (Sulsel), led by Zulkarnain Hamson, Chair of the Community Service Team (PKM), with three facilitator lecturers, carried out Village Journalism training with the theme: "Building an Information System that supports the Publication of Village Potential" as part of the model implementation Pentahelix. Of the 27 sub-districts in Bone Regency, Palakka is the pilot project for organizing Village Journalism and is the first to be implemented in Bone. Head of District Area, Andi Akbar Baso SH. appreciated the Village Journalism training, when welcoming the JOIN team of lecturers and administrators, in order to improve the human resources of 15 villages in the region. Each village sends 2 staff, to take place in the sub-district office hall for one day. The training was considered successful in achieving targets, with participants increasing their understanding of the importance of using media for village publications

Abstract

Oyster mushroom cultivation is an agricultural sector with high economic potential, but its productivity is often disrupted by pests and diseases. Inappropriate management due to farmers' limited knowledge can cause significant losses. This study aims to develop an expert system for oyster mushroom pest and disease diagnosis based on Artificial Neural Networks (ANN), to assist in early identification of emerging disorders. The dataset consists of 150 samples covering a combination of symptoms and disease labels, collected from two different cultivation locations. There are several stages in this study, namely the preprocessing process that includes label encoding, feature normalization using Z-score, and data division in a ratio of 80% for training and 20% for testing. The ANN model was designed using a Multi-Layer Perceptron (MLP) with two hidden layers containing 10 neurons each, a ReLU activation function, an Adam solver, and a maximum iteration of 1000. The test results showed the model has an accuracy rate of 97%, with perfect precision and recall values ​​for most disease classes. This study shows that the ANN approach is able to effectively recognize oyster mushroom disease symptom patterns. This system can be an efficient and adaptive diagnostic tool, and has the potential to be further developed as a smart agricultural technology solution

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis nilai ekonomi berbagai komoditi pertanian di pekarangan rumah masyarakat Desa Umpungeng, Kabupaten Soppeng. Metode kualitatif digunakan dengan pendekatan survei pada 12 sampel komoditi jenis tumbuhan yang ada di pekarangn masyarakat. Data dikumpulkan melalui survei lapangan dan observasi langsung, dengan fokus pada jenis tanaman agroforestri yang ditemukan di wilayah tersebut. Analisis data yang dipakai adalah nilai ekonomi dari tiap komoditi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya variasi yang signifikan dalam nilai ekonomi antara berbagai jenis komoditi, dengan komoditi cengkeh dan durian menonjol yang memiliki kontribusi ekonomi tertinggi. Di sisi lain, komoditi lain seperti gamal dan singkong menunjukkan nilai ekonomi yang lebih rendah. Implikasi dari hasil penelitian ini menyoroti pentingnya diversifikasi komoditas pertanian untuk meningkatkan ketahanan ekonomi masyarakat lokal serta merancang strategi pembangunan ekonomi yang lebih inklusif dan berkelanjutan di Desa Umpungeng. Kesimpulannya, pemahaman tentang nilai ekonomi komoditi pertanian di pekarangan rumah masyarakat memberikan wawasan yang berharga untuk pengembangan sektor pertanian lokal dan pembangunan ekonomi yang berkelanjutan.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the factors that influence pine resin production, income of tappers, and the contribution of tapping activities to household income in Gantarang Village. The research used a quantitative approach with survey methods, interviews, and direct observation of 15 respondents of pine resin tappers. Data collected included sap production, tapping costs, revenue, and income from other sectors. Analysis was conducted descriptively and quantitatively to evaluate the contribution of tapping to total household income. The results showed that pine resin production is influenced by internal factors such as tree health, diameter, and genetics, as well as external factors such as tapping methods and tapping location distance. The average annual income from tapping reached IDR 23,267,200, contributing 37.36% to total household income. Income from other sectors, especially agriculture, contributed more, at 62.64%. Overall, tapping activities provide significant benefits as an additional source of income for farmers, especially when facing the risk of crop failure due to climate change. The implications of this study indicate the importance of pine resin tapping as part of rural communities' income diversification. Optimizing production and accessibility of tapping locations through government support can increase the sector's contribution to the household economy, thereby supporting the economic sustainability of local communities.
