Abstract

The research aims to determine the effect of several types of fertilizer on broccoli crop yields, carried out from June - August 2023 in Kakaskasen Village, Tomohon City, North Sulawesi Province. The research used a Randomized Block Design (RAK) method with 5 (treatment) types of fertilizer. Treatments consisted of: P0 (No fertilization), P1 Phonska fertilizer 75kg/ha and urea 50kg/ha, P2 Chicken manure 20 tons/ha, P3 Goat manure 20 tons/ha, P4 Pig manure 20 tons/ha and all treatments Using manure is applied 3 days before transplanting, phonska and urea fertilizer are applied 1 week after planting. The variables observed were plant height (cm), number of leaves (strands), crop diameter (cm), crop wet weight (g). Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and if there was a significant effect, it was continued with the BNT test at the 5% level. The research results show that several types of fertilizer affect the yield of broccoli plants. Providing 20 tonnes/ha of goat manure and 20 tonnes/ha of pig manure gave the best broccoli yields. Abstract

Sweetleaf stevia (Stevia rebaudiana Bertoni) is one of the potential sugar-producing plants besides sugar cane which is widely used as a natural non-calorie sweetener. Propagation of stevia by shoot cuttings produces more uniform seedlings. Plant Growth Promoting Rhizobacteria (PGPR) contains a group of beneficial bacteria that live in the plant root ecosystem that can stimulate plant growth. This study aims to determine the effect of PGPR on the growth of stevia cuttings and the best concentration of PGPR on the growth of stevia cuttings. This study was conducted in February-May 2024 in Kolongan Atas II Village, Sonder District, Minahasa Regency, North Sulawesi Province. The study used a Completely Randomized Design (RAL), with 5 treatment levels, namely P0 = Control (Without PGPR), P1 = PGPR 10 ml/liter of water, P2 = PGPR 20 ml/liter of water, P3 = PGPR 30 ml/liter of water and P4 = PGPR 40 ml/liter of water. Each treatment was repeated 4 times. The results showed that the aplication of PGPR affected the growth of stevia cuttings. The best PGPR concentration for the growth of stevia cuttings was at a PGPR treatment concentration of 20 ml/liter of water.  Keywords: plant growth promoting rhizobacteria, stevia

Abstract

Land spinach (Ipomoea reptans Poir) is a type of horticultura plant that is very popular in Indonesia because it has a savory taste and nutriens such as vitamins A, B and C as well as various minerals, especially iron, which are useful for supporting growth and maintaining health as well as maintaining the health of the human body. one of the important aspects in cultivanting land kale is monitoring the growth of the plant and understanding the stages of water spinach development from the beginning of planting to harvest. This research was carried out from April to May 2024 Environment VI, Paal Dua Village, Paal Dua District, North Sulawesi Province. The research used a Randomized Block Design (RAK) with 5 levels of treatment namely Bangkok Variety, Bisi Variety, Bika Variety, Serimpi Variety and Rajawali Variety which was carried out in 4 replications in the form of  plots (beds). The results of the research showed that the growth and production of land kale plants BangkokVariety, Bisi Variety, Bika Variety, Serimpi Variety and Rajawali Variety were not significantly different. Keywords: growth and production, land spinach plant varieties

Abstract

ABSTRACT Chili peppers are a highly sought-after horticultural commodity, ranking second in market demand after red chilies. Consequently, many farmers opt to cultivate chili peppers to boost their income. To achieve optimal results, farmers often employ superior varieties that offer numerous benefits, including enhanced productivity, pest and disease resistance, shorter maturation periods, and improved shelf life. This research was designed to investigate the growth characteristics of various chili pepper varieties and determine which variety demonstrates the most favorable growth traits. The study was carried out over four months, spanning from October 2023 to February 2024, at Senduk Village. This research design used a Randomized Block Design (RAK) with three treatments and nine replications was utilized. Plant height, stem diameter, flowering age, and harvest age were the variables observed. The findings revealed distinct differences in growth characteristics among the three varieties tested. The Mahameru variety exhibited favorable performance in plant height and stem diameter. In contrast, the Dewata 43 variety demonstrated the earliest flowering time.
