Abstract

Abstract

Islamic studies as a scientific discipline continues to experience methodological developments in line with the increasing complexity of religious and social issues in the contemporary era. The study of Islam is no longer sufficient through a single approach, but requires the integration of normative, historical, and philosophical perspectives to fully understand Islam, both as a normative teaching and as a social and intellectual reality. This article aims to analyze the concepts, characteristics, and relevance of integrating these three approaches in developing a modern Islamic studies methodology. This research uses library research with a qualitative approach and content analysis of various classical and contemporary literature relevant to Islamic research methodology. The results of the study indicate that the normative approach serves to maintain the purity of Islamic teaching sources and moral direction; the historical approach enriches the social context and evolution of Islamic thought; while the philosophical approach deepens epistemological, ontological, and axiological reflection. The integration of these three produces a methodological framework that is scientific, contextual, and responsive to contemporary issues such as digital fiqh, religious moderation, and modern Islamic education. This article contributes to strengthening an integrative methodological paradigm relevant to the development of Islamic studies curricula, educational practices, and interdisciplinary research in the modern era.

Abstract

Curriculum evaluation is a crucial instrument in ensuring the quality and relevance of education in response to global developments. This article aims to comprehensively examine the basic concepts, theoretical models, and implementation mechanisms of curriculum evaluation within educational institutions. Using a literature review method, the discussion begins by defining curriculum evaluation as a systematic process of gathering and analyzing information for decision-making. Furthermore, various popular evaluation models, such as the CIPP model, Tyler’s model, and Goal-Free Evaluation, are presented along with their specific characteristics. In the final section, this article outlines the stages of evaluation implementation, covering planning, data collection, and follow-up actions based on evaluation results. The findings of this study are expected to provide a framework for educational practitioners to conduct continuous, data-driven curriculum improvements.

Abstract

The background of this research is rooted in the urgency of building students' morality through consistent religious activities, particularly Quran recitation. The practice of Quran recitation is not merely a textual literacy routine, but rather a strategic medium for internalizing Islamic doctrine that has a systemic impact on the character construction and ethics of students. This study has the objective of measuring the magnitude of the influence of Quran recitation on student ethics at SMK Islam Nurul Hikmah Sangatta Utara. The research approach taken is quantitative by implementing a simple linear regression method. The study population included 91 grade XI students, where the sample determination was carried out using a saturated sampling technique, so that all population entities were involved as subjects. The data collection procedure was carried out through observation, distribution of questionnaires with a Likert scale, and documentation studies. The research findings confirm the positive and significant contribution of Quran recitation activities to students' ethical behavior. Instrument validation shows a Cronbach Alpha reliability value for variable X of 0.872 and variable Y of 0.883, which is in the category range of 0.800 to 1.000, thus indicating a very strong level of consistency. The resulting regression equation is Y = 22.274 + 0.706X, which reflects the reliability of the data. The correlation coefficient or R was recorded at 0.747, indicating a strong correlation between the variables. The coefficient of determination or R Square value of 0.558 explains that Al-Quran recitation contributes 55.8 percent to the variation in student ethics. Based on the hypothesis test, the calculated t value obtained was 10.600, exceeding the t table of 1.987 at a significance level of 5 percent with a p value <0.001. These results form the basis for accepting the alternative hypothesis or Ha and rejecting the null hypothesis or H0.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the still low quality of children's Qur'anic reading at Rumah Qur'an (RQ) Al-Furqan Bukit Pelangi, reflected in difficulties recognising letters, articulating makhraj correctly, and applying tajwid rules. One effort adopted by the institution to address this problem is the application of the Ummi Method. This study aims to determine the extent of the influence of the Ummi Method on the quality of children's Qur'anic reading at RQ Al-Furqan Bukit Pelangi. This is a field research study using a quantitative descriptive approach. The population and sample consisted of 30 children participating in Qur'anic learning using the Ummi Method, selected through saturated sampling. Data were collected through test, observation, and documentation techniques, then analysed using simple linear regression with the aid of IBM SPSS Statistics 29.0. The results show that the Ummi Method has a positive and significant effect on children's reading quality, evidenced by a calculated t value of 3.215, greater than the t table value of 2.048, at a significance level of 0.003 (< 0.05). The coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.420 indicates that the Ummi Method accounts for 42.0% of the variance in children's reading quality, while the remaining 58.0% is influenced by other factors outside the study. The F test confirms this effect simultaneously, with a calculated F value of 10.334, greater than the F table value of 4.21. This study recommends the consistent application of the Ummi Method along with strengthening learning facilities and improving teacher competence to optimise children's Qur'anic reading quality.
