Abstract

Social media is an application that humans can use to communicate, one of which is Instagram. In communicating, the language used is polite language or contains euphemisms so as not to cause misunderstandings with the interlocutor. In this study, research was conducted on the types of euphemisms contained in the comments on the Instagram account @nadiemmakarim. The purpose of this study is to describe the types of euphemisms contained in the comments of the Instagram account @nadiemmakarim. This research is in the form of a qualitative descriptive with the data source of the Instagram account @nadiemmakarim. The data is in the form of 35 comments and analyzed using the agih method and the dressing technique. The results of this study found that there are figurative euphemisms, clipping euphemisms, acronym euphemism, one word euphemisms to replace another word, and jargon euphemisms. The most dominant type of euphemism is one word euphemism to replace another word with the function og softening the word so as not to offend the interlocutor.

Abstract

This research analyzes lexical equivalence in news articles about the Labubu phenomenon published on Kompas.com, focusing on how linguistic elements adapt to convey international cultural trends to local audiences. Lexical equivalence, as a key component of discourse cohesion, ensures the clarity and consistency of information in news texts. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, this study examines ten selected articles, identifying and classifying the types of lexical equivalence, such as repetition, synonymy, antonymy, collocation, and hyponymy. Findings indicate that affixation, including prefixes, suffixes, and combined affixations, is the most dominant strategy used in lexical adaptation, facilitating nuanced interpretations of cultural phenomena like Labubu. The affixation process creates lexical equivalence relevant to Labubu dolls, reflecting cultural, psychological, and marketing contexts in portraying scarcity, social actions, and opinions. This study provides insights into effective strategies for media adaptation of global cultural content and underscores the importance of lexical cohesion in maintaining credibility and accessibility in news discourse.Keywords: lexical equivalence, cultural adaptation, Labubu phenomenon, discourse cohesion, Kompas.com

Abstract

Affix Nge- on Twitter Social Media ABSTRAKPembahasan pada penelitian ini mengenai perubahan bentuk afiksasi khususnya prefiks nge- pada media sosial Twitter. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan perubahan bentuk afiks nge- dan makna yang ada dalam unggahan Twitter oleh warganet. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan data berupa kalimat yang mengandung afiks nge- dan sumber data berasal dari Twitter. Data dikumpulkan dengan metode simak dan teknik catat. Kemudian, analisis data menggunakan metode agih yang dilanjutkan dengan teknik bagi unsur langsung. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, pada media sosial Twitter ditemukan perubahan afiksasi pada afiks nge-, yaitu nge + v = v, nge + v + in = v, nge + n = v, nge + n + in = v, nge + adj.= v, nge + adj. + in = v. Kemudian, dari hasil data yang dianalisis keenam perubahan afiksasi menghasilkan kata berkategori verba.Kata kunci: afiks, Twitter, verbaABSTRACTThe discussion in this study is about changing in the form of affixation, especially the nge- prefix on Twitter social media. Therefore, this study aims to describe the changes in the form of the affix nge- and the meaning contained in Twitter uploads by netizens. The method which is used in this study is a qualitative descriptive method with data in the form of sentences containing the affix nge- and data sources is from Twitter. The data were collected using the listening method and note-taking technique. Then, the data analysis used the distribution method followed by the indirect division technique. Based on the analysis, on Twitter social media, it was found that the affixation changes in the affix nge-, namely nge + v = v, nge + v + in = v, nge + n = v, nge + n + in = v, nge + adj. = v , nge + adj. + in = v. Then, based on the results of the data analysis, the six changes in affixation produce verb words categorized.Keyword: affixes, Twitter, verb

Abstract

Penelitian ini secara terperinci mengkaji struktur klausa dalam lirik lagu "Roman Picisan" karya Ahmad Dhani yang mencakup identifikasi dan penjelasan tentang klausa bebas dan terikat, serta menemukan struktur inversi pada baris liriknya. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan sintaksis dan metode kualitatif yang bersifat deskriptif, peneliti menyajikan analisis mendalam pada setiap baris lirik lagu untuk menggali keberadaan struktur klausa dan struktur inversi di dalamnya. Data yang diteliti berupa lirik lagu “Roman Picisan” karya Ahmad Dhani, dan metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah metode simak dan teknik catat dengan transkripsi ortografis, kemudian data yang terkumpul dianalisis dengan metode agih. Hasil dari penelitian ini membuktikan bahwa dalam lirik lagu “Roman Picisan” karya Ahmad Dhani terdapat kedua jenis struktur klausa dan ditemukan pula struktur inversi dalam beberapa baris liriknya. Penelitian ini memberikan pemahaman yang baru dalam kajian linguistik mengenai struktur klausa dan inversi yang terdapat dalam lirik lagu.

Abstract

Tindak tutur mengkritik dalam video podcast di kanal YouTube Deddy Corbuzier, khususnya pada episode "Vidi Podhub Ulang Tahun!! Selamat Tinggal Good Image" yang diakses pada 20 April 2024. Data berupa ujaran mengkritik yang diujarkan oleh Deddy Corbuzier, Vidi, Enzy, Chandika, dan Nino RAN. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah metode simak dan teknik catat dengan transkripsi ortografis. Analisis data menggunakan metode agih dengan teknik dasar bagi unsur langsung (BUL) dan analisis isi. Penelitian menunjukkan adanya tiga pola sekuens tindak tutur mengkritik, yaitu pre-main-post, main-post, dan pre-main. Contoh sekuens pre-main-post ditunjukkan oleh Enzy yang mengkritik sifat glamor Vidi secara implisit dengan permintaan perubahan. Evaluasi negatif juga ditemukan, seperti kritik langsung Vidi terhadap jam dinding rolex, serta kritik Enzy dan Chandika terhadap kebiasaan buruk Vidi. Strategi mengkritik yang digunakan mencakup formula semantik permintaan perubahan dan penilaian negatif, baik secara implisit maupun eksplisit. Penelitian ini memberikan gambaran tentang variasi dan konteks penggunaan tindak tutur mengkritik dalam interaksi sehari-hari di media sosial, serta menunjukkan bagaimana kritik dapat disampaikan dengan berbagai strategi bahasa.
