Abstract

In general, agriculture is a neutral sector in a country. In this case, many countries rely on the agricultural sector, where agriculture is the primary production in economic development, often referred to as agrarian countries. The main objective of agricultural policy is to maintain agricultural production by achieving economic benefits compatible with poverty reduction as a final reaction to meet the population's social needs with the least possible impact. Seeing the problems and opportunities in the agricultural sector that also have socio-political impacts, this research is vital to understanding the implications and implementation of agricultural policies. This research uses a bibliometric analysis method to see the research development with the keyword "agriculture policy" on Google Scholar search with a vulnerable time in 2020-2023, which produces data for as many as 155 articles. The results show that the publication trend regarding "agriculture policy" has critical players who are relevantly attracting scientists to study by looking at the trend of keywords that most often come out, making discussions about agricultural policy a form of literature that can be a reference or consideration in policy making. Thus, food policy research must also continue to be carried out to obtain new knowledge as a reference in advancing agriculture in the scope of science.

Abstract

Upaya membangun ketahanan pangan di Sumatera Utara membutuhkan serangkaian rencan strategis kebijakan. Dalam mengatasi permasalahan ketahanan pangan, diperlukan peran dari seluruh pemangku kepentingan untuk meningkatkan produksi pangan, menjaga kualitas dan memperkuat sumber daya untuk memberi jaminan ketahanan pangan. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis politik pangan dalam meningkatkan ketahanan pangan?. Metode penelitian yang digunakan deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil menunjukan politik pangan membutuhkan kerjasana kelembangaan antar wilayah dalam meningkatkan komoditas pertanian yang unggul dalam menjamin ketesediaan pangan. Kebijakan tersebut penting memberikan kualitas, keamanan dan ketahanan pangan ditingkat lokal yang berorentasi pada pemberdayaan masyarakat. Politik pangan yang diimplementasikan dalam kebijakan dan program membutuhkan rencan strategis aspek politik pangan yang mengarah pada keputusan dan kebijakan terkait produksi, distribusi, dan akses pangan. Kondisi tersebut mendorong pemangku kepentingan untuk memberikan penguatan inovasi pertanian seperti penggunaan teknologi pertanian (Smart Farming), dan mengembangkan program diversifikasi dalam menjamin ketersediaan pangan di Sumatera Utara. Implementasi penguatan inovasi tersebut dapat berkelanjutan, membutuhkan rencana kebijakan yang dapat memberikan jaminan ketersediaan pangan.

Abstract

The low level of scientific publications in the academic environment is inseparable from limited interests and skills. Efforts are needed to strengthen insight, methodological knowledge, and skills. Students as an integral part in the development of knowledge, are expected to have high interest and motivation in conducting research. So far, the research produced by students has not shown a significant trend. Various causes of problems arise, starting from limitations in formulating ideas, preparing proposals, submitting proposals, determining publications and motivating students to carry out research. It is important for students who are members of the commissariat of the Islamic Student Association of the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences of the University of North Sumatra to be given training in strengthening research knowledge and training in organizational development. The objectives of the training activities include; First, strengthening research insights and assisting in strengthening research problems. Second, training on how to prepare research proposals. Third, assistance and guidance in finding trusted sources of publications. Overall, this training was carried out using participatory techniques, participants were actively involved in all stages of training activities. The output of the service recommends that the participants of the activity carry out various research trainings, in order to improve their abilities, and maintain a high motivational rhythm from students in conducting research. Furthermore, coaching and mentoring for the greatest students in student organizations must be carried out on an ongoing basis.

Abstract

The low participation of people with disabilities in elections is an issue that needs attention. Several studies have shown that people are not yet sensitive to the political rights of persons with disabilities. In addition, the lack of election accessibility for persons with disabilities is also an obstacle. Persons with disabilities are one of the large minority groups in Medan City. Therefore, this service aims to provide an understanding of strengthening the accessibility of persons with disabilities through political education in general elections in Medan City. Participatory Learning and Action methods through learning procedures that combine lecture techniques and participatory discussions to group learning are carried out in this activity. Firstly, this service activity was conducted with the Indonesian Blind Association (Pertuni) of Medan City, which includes learning about political education. Secondly, increasing the understanding of persons with disabilities about the importance of exercising their voting rights. Third, providing an understanding of political accessibility and political rights for persons with disabilities. The service results recommend that activity participants increase their understanding of the rights and obligations of citizens to vote. For the knowledge implemented in political education to run well, continuous coaching and mentoring are needed for the Indonesian Blind Association (Pertuni) in Medan City.
