Abstract

Background: Hernia Nucleus Pulposus (HNP) is a condition when the pad or disc (soft gel disc or nucleus pulposus) between the vertebrae (spine) comes out of its original position or is torn and pinches the nerve behind it. Many people know it as "pinched nerve". HNP most often occurs in the cervical (neck) and lumbar (waist) vertebrae. The neck has 7 vertebrae. Cervical HNP (pinched neck nerve) most often affects the C6-C7 segment followed by the C5-6 segment because this segment is the part that moves most often and is easily affected by the degeneration process. Neck HNP most often occurs in men aged 45-55 years. Risk factors that increase the appearance of cervical HNP or pinched neck nerves include genetics, smoking, being overweight (obesity), work that often involves bending over and lifting heavy objects or operating machines with vibrating forces, and injury. Nerve mobilization in the Upper Limb Tension Test ( ULTT) is performed on branches of the Brachial plexus such as the radial nerve, median nerve and ulnar nerve. But here the author only discusses ULTT on the median nerve, namely ULTT 1 which is related to CTS. The aim is to determine physiotherapy management and the effect of Ultrasoundtherapy therapy and nerve mobilization using the ULTT 1 method in cases of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome on reducing pain and increasing the functional ability of the hand. Two group pre test and post test method. RESEARCH PLACE: Physiotherapy clinic, RSU Sidoarjo. TIME: Measuring instrument: Visual Analouge Scale (VAS). Results: treatment using the Mann-Whtney test. With confidence interval (CI) (95%) The results of the study revealed that there was a significant difference in pain in group 1 (p = 0.00) and group 2 (p = 0.00). But there was no significant difference between the two groups in pain improvement (p = 0.152), so there was no better treatment between the two groups. Conclusion: It is concluded that ULTT is useful in treating cervical HNP patients to reduce pain in two groups. The targeted outcomes are publications in national journals indexed by Sinta and HAKI. The TKT target for implementing this gamelan accompaniment exercise is level 2.

Abstract

Physiotherapy is a profession that provides a form of health services for both individuals and groups in order to develop, maintain, and restore body movements and functions. Every individual has the right to get health services, one of which is physiotherapy, but the lack of public knowledge, and economic problems make people reluctant or even impossible to get these services. Nutritional status is one of the factors that can affect child development. The program to treat malnourished children is periodically conducted in January-March every year. The Semarang City Health Office collaborates with IFI Semarang City and STIKES KESDAM IV Diponegoro Department of Physiotherapy as well as from various other medical team collaborations to provide services to these toddlers. Malnourished toddlers from the Community Health Center (Puskesmas) of Semarang City were gathered at Rumah Pelangi Nusantara to receive services consisting of: Weight and TB examination, doctor's examination, psychologist, nutritionist consultation, social worker and physiotherapy. Physiotherapy itself plays a role in the detection and stimulation of the growth and development of children under five with malnutrition. IFI Semarang city is scheduled every Tuesday and Thursday to give assignments alternately to representatives of physiotherapists in each agency both from hospitals, Clinic and Homecare to come to Rumah Pelangi Nusantara to provide early detection treatment for malnourished toddlers who experience growth delays, by providing examinations, interventions in the form of exercise therapy and education to parents of toddlers. It is hoped that this activity can help in optimizing the stimulation of toddler growth and development along with increasing age and improving nutrition and weight gain.

The elderly are an age group that is prone to falls. The purpose of this service is to detect the risk of falling in the elderly and provide assistance in balance training as an effort to prevent the risk of falling in the elderly. Falls occur due to unintentional loss of balance resulting in failure of postural stability, or unexpected and sudden changes resulting in a position landing on the floor. Associated risk factors include current health status (living in the community, nursing home, hospital, frail or active state), diseases suffered (diabetes, hip fracture, stroke) and general changes related to aging (decreased balance, coordination, muscle strength, visual impairment, etc.). The output targets to be achieved are in the form of publications in accredited national journals and copyright for videos of community service activities. The method used is a fall risk detection examination using. Elderly gymnastics is a series of regular, directed, and planned movements carried out with the intention of improving the functional abilities of the body. Reporting from the Panti Rapih Hospital page, this activity is carried out regularly and with movements that are not too heavy.

Abstract

Background: Lower back pain (NPB) Ischialgia is a pinched ischialgia nerve in the lower back area which causes the buttocks, thighs, lower legs and even feet to become tingling, painful, and sometimes causing weakness. Nerve mobilization is a manipulation technique by moving and stretching nerve tissue to increase axonal transportation so that it can improve nerve conduction. Nerve mobilization can reduce the pressure in the nerves so that there is an increase in blood flow to the nerves, which can have a regenerative and healing effect on injured nerves (Butler, 1991). Nerve mobilization is often used as a form of diagnosis and treatment for musculoskeletal conditions with nerve involvement (Butler, 1991). Abstract

Background: Carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) is a disorder of the wrist due to narrowing of the carpal tunnel, either due to edema of the fascia in the carpal tunnel or due to abnormalities in the small bones of the hand (carpal bones) resulting in pressure on the median nerve. on the wrist. CTS is defined as weakness in the hands accompanied by pain in the distribution area of the median nerve (Sidharta, 2004). Abstract

One way to improve the quality of life for the elderly is to do physical exercise. Physical exercise can maintain or improve flexibility, cardiopulmonary endurance, agility, strength and balance. Several studies show that physical exercise has a consistent effect in reducing the risk of falls in healthy older adults. Kuptniratsaikul's research in 2009-2010 showed that simple balance exercises carried out by elderly people with a history of falls could reduce the incidence of falls in the elderly and significantly improve body balance. A 2017 Cuevas meta-analysis study showed that balance training programs showed the greatest effect in reducing the risk of falls in the elderly. For elderly people who are not yet able to do balance exercises independently, they need assistance from professional staff. Elderly people are an age group that is vulnerable to falls. The aim of implementing this service is to detect the risk of falls in the elderly and provide assistance with balance exercises as an effort to prevent the risk of falls in the elderly. Falls occur due to an unintentional loss of balance which results in failure of postural stability, or an unexpected and sudden change which results in the position landing on the floor . Associated risk factors include current health status (living in the community, nursing home, hospital, weak or active state), existing diseases (diabetes, hip fracture, stroke) and general changes related to aging (decreased balance, coordination, strength muscle, visual disturbances, etc.). The output targets to be achieved include publication of accredited national journals and copyright for videos of community service activities. The method used is a fall risk detection examination using the Time Up and Go Test and continued by providing balance training, so that elderly people who are at risk of falling can be identified as early as possible so that providing balance training can maintain and improve the elderly's body balance.

Abstract

The purpose: To determine the effect of differences between SWD and neural mobilization with SWD and William’s flexion exercise to improve of functional ability on patient’s with low back pain ischialgia. Design: Two group pretest and posttest design. Participants and interventions: Ten patients with low back pain ischialgia from both sexes were involved (outpatient hospital clinic). Age of the patients between 46 – 65 years. They were divided into two equal groups, Group (I) received SWD and neural mobilization intervention and Group (II) received SWD and William’s flexion exercise. Outcome measure: The Oswestry disability index (ODI) was used to assess changes in perceived disability. The mean differences between week 0 and week 3 were compared across the two treatment groups using Mann-Whitney. Ninety-five percent (95%) confidence intervals (CIs) for the differences between groups were calculated. Results: The results of study revealed that: there was significant difference in functional ability group I (p=0.034) and group II (p=0.038). Howeverthere wasn’t a significant difference between both groups on functional disabilities improvement (p=0.245), so there wasn’t intervention which better of both. Conclusion: It is concluded that SWD addition neural mobilization and SWD addition William’s flexion exercise may be beneficial in the management of patients with low back pain ischialgia to improving of functional ability in two groups.
