This phenomenon has a bad impact on technological developments and hurts phubbers mental health. literature reviews or desk research. The aim is to provide a comprehensive knowledge of the phubbing phenomena, which is happening unintentionally in society, by drawing on prior research. This article’s purpose is to provide a comprehensive understanding of phubbing and its effects on communication and mental health in society. The goal is to raise awareness and propose preventive measures to mitigate any additional adverse consequences. The findings of this paper demonstrate that the phubbing phenomenon is a negative consequence resulting from the quick and substantial advancements in technology. In Indonesian society, the phenomenon of phubbing is not widely recognized. From the standpoint of communication ethics, this phenomenon is clearly the opposite of face-to-face communication norms and ethics, as it involves disregarding the individual with whom one is conversing. Ultimately, comprehensive community involvement and extensive study are essential to gain a deeper understanding and develop proactive strategies to address the rise of the phubbing phenomena.

Abstract

The insurance sector is undergoing a substantial shift in the swiftly changing environment of society 4.0, entering society 5.0 marked by digitization, mobile technologies, and artificial intelligence (AI). The formerly deemed conservative sector increasingly embraces innovative technology to improve operational efficiency and transform consumer interaction. This paper examines the influence of mobile and AI technologies on corporate communication and public relations, explicitly analyzing their effects on the insurance industry via the perspective of technological determinism. The objective is to examine how new technologies transform consumer interactions, trust dynamics, and organizational tactics while addressing ethical issues such as AI transparency and data protection. This study, rooted in technological determinism, highlights technology's independent and socially influenced effects on organizational behaviors. It uses a qualitative approach, phenomenological method, and semi-structured interviews with industry experts to investigate lived experiences and insights. The findings indicate that mobile platforms improve consumer interaction through immediacy and accessibility, while AI enhances operations through predictive analytics and automation. Nonetheless, issues about diversity and ethical responsibility persist as significant concerns. The research suggests that mobile and AI technologies serve as transformational agents, necessitating enterprises to reconcile technical innovation with ethical accountability. By implementing inclusive, transparent, and proactive communication strategies, insurance businesses may use these technologies to cultivate trust, enhance stakeholder relationships, and adeptly negotiate the intricacies of Society 4.0. This study offers a framework for incorporating developing technology into corporate communication and public relations by social norms and expectations.

Abstract

Currently, a communication crisis continues to be seen as a frightening menace that may disrupt the seamless operation of many activities in social life, business, and organizations. Instances of communication crises have perennially occurred within enterprises and organizations. This phenomenon is not limited to external communication with audiences outside the corporation or organization but may also manifest inside and within the organization itself. Effective communication is crucial in successfully navigating through the crisis. The coordination of crisis management within an organization or corporation is handled mainly by the Corporate Communication CC and Public Relations/PR departments. Corporate communication and public relations officers must be able to analyze the causes and repercussions of crises, formulate plans to resolve them, and enhance the organization's image. These skills are essential in coordinating with other departments. The study aims to assess and investigate crisis management processes from a Corporate Communication and Public Relations viewpoint. It focuses on the digital era, where efficient crisis-handling protocols are necessary due to the need for high mobility and the use of technology. This study is grounded on a qualitative methodology that utilizes phenomenological approaches. The decision to use phenomenology was based on the informants' experiences prioritizing objectives, namely the functionaries in the two departments, to better understand the challenges encountered. The final results demonstrate that the crisis management process begins when a possible crisis is identified, including methods for preventative measures and preparedness in the event of a crisis.

Abstract

In an increasingly advanced modern era and growing communication technology, mediatization is present in every aspect of people's lives, including in the context of religiosity. The transition to the use of new media in supporting religious activities to keep running faces challenges that are not easy with the issue of the sacredness of religious activities that are communal in nature at first and are forced to change formats. This research was conducted with a qualitative approach and supported by a literature review method and complemented by supporting data obtained from researcher observations of related phenomena that occur today. In the end, mediatization in the religious context is like a double-edged sword with all its advantages and challenges, especially for conventional religious leaders who are increasingly eroded in power and reach by influencers who are able to reach a stronger and wider audience.

Abstract

Abstract

The development of artificial intelligence (AI) technology has transformed the way various social sectors operate, including healthcare, communications, and decision-making. The integration of AI into these domains not only opens up new opportunities for efficiency and innovation, but also presents significant challenges. Among these challenges, the emergence of algorithmic bias, inadequate data protection, technical limitations, and complex ethical dilemmas are of major concern. These issues affect the reliability and fairness of the use of AI technologies, potentially harming individuals and society as a whole. This study aims to investigate the barriers associated with the implementation of AI in society and provide theoretical and methodological solutions to address these challenges. This study uses a systematic literature review methodology to review 40 journals, with the aim of identifying key issues and suggesting solutions for the ethical and successful integration of AI. The findings show that the potential of AI is often hampered by biased algorithms, inadequate privacy laws, and a lack of transparency in decision-making processes. The study recommends the use of qualitative and quantitative methodologies, including experimental research and case studies, to investigate practical applications of AI. In addition, a multidisciplinary approach is suggested to address the technical and social dimensions of AI applications.
