This article aims to speak about the history of curriculum in 2013. crucial components associated with the implementation of education. The curriculum as a planning device and gadget concerning goals, content, substances and methods used inside the learning and coaching manner to obtain academic goals has an critical position in countrywide training, therefore gaining knowledge of English is likewise included inside the curriculum in Indonesia. because they want to create a future technology that could compete on the international degree inside the generation of globalization, English lessons in simple schools had been removed and English classes at the junior and senior high faculty levels had been decreased inside the 2013 curriculum. The cause of this examine became to analyze diverse English language mastering rules in Indonesia within the attitude of forming world citizens with intercultural competence because being a international citizen in the era of globalization is a reality. The curriculum as a aspect of training is dynamic, constantly converting through the years. this modification could be very critical along side changes in society, pupil wishes, and tendencies in technological know-how and era. The history of the curriculum compiles methods of training in international locations consisting of Indonesia that can replicate the usa's improvement.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of changes in needs analysis on the development of English language learning curriculum. Needs analysis is an important process in designing a curriculum that is responsive to learners' needs. However, the needs of English language learners continue to evolve with changes in time, technology, and global demands. Therefore, changes in needs analysis are necessary to ensure that the English language learning curriculum remains relevant and effective. In studying the impact of changes in needs analysis on curriculum development in English language learning, the researcher will conduct a comprehensive search of academic databases, educational journals, conference proceedings, and other reputable sources. The search will be focused on finding relevant studies, theories, and models related to needs analysis, curriculum development, and English language learning. The results of the study indicate that changes in needs analysis have a significant impact on the development of English language learning curriculum. Some of these impacts include emphasizing more authentic communication skills, increasing the use of technology in learning, the need for cross-cultural skills, and emphasizing professional skills relevant to the workplace. This study concludes that changes in needs analysis are an important step in developing a responsive and effective English language learning curriculum. By considering changes in learners' needs, the curriculum can be adjusted to provide a more relevant and beneficial learning experience. Therefore, curriculum developers and education policymakers need to continuously monitor changes in learners' needs and make necessary adjustments in the development of the English language learning curriculum.

Abstract

Writing is significantly essential for English as a foreign language and English as a second language. Students’ language learning has constantly been regarded as essential ability contributing to English learning. The purpose of this study was analyze factors contributing to students’ difficulties in paragraph writing course based on the students’ perceptions. This study used a descriptive qualitative method. The instruments used were interview and documentation. This study, the participants’ answers were purposive sampling and analyzed descriptively. The participants were 60 students who were taking paragraph writing course in second semester academic year 2022/2023 in English Language Education Program at IAIN Palangka Raya. The data analysis procedure of the research analysis were data condensation, demonstration, and verifying conclusion. The overall result based on the questionnaire, students found difficulties to use grammar. Based on the findings, there were two factors that caused students’ difficulties in writing. The two factors were internal and external. Internal factors consisted of self-motivation, self-confidence, lack of knowledge and feeling of under pressure External factors consisted of the teacher’s teaching style, classroom atmosphere, materials, and writing aspects. This research hopefully can help lecture in developing appropriate teaching techniques in writing and minimize students' difficulties in paragraph writing course.

Abstract

This study aims to know the perspectives of the teacher and student in using classroom seating management in learning English at MTsN 2 Kota Palangka Raya. This study involved two classes that use different seating layouts, as follows pairs and table rows. Three students in each class would be picked up, so there would be 6 students, 2 homeroom teachers, and 2 English teachers to be interviewed. This study uses qualitative research with a case study method. A purposive sampling technique was used, where the research instruments included observation, interviews, and documentation studies are applied in this study. The result found that both of teacher's and students' perspectives show the same answer which agree the pair seating layout is more comfortable and effective to be used in the classroom in learning English than the table row seating layout. The students express that the pairs is fulfill their comfort during the teaching learning process in the classroom as the theory said. The teachers also confirm that the students is lack of active participation because of keep distracting by other students who start the chit-chat during the learning process on the table rows.

Abstract

This article explains the importance of conducting a needs analysis in developing an English language course for an open curriculum. The independent curriculum is a learning framework that aims to holistically improve students' English language skills while considering local needs and contexts. In this context, needs analysis has become an important stage in ensuring that the material, techniques, and evaluation in the English language course meet the needs of students. The article discusses the importance of needs analysis in designing English language courses. Needs analysis helps determine appropriate learning objectives and guides curriculum development. The curriculum can be designed to integrate relevant and practical language skills while comprehensively assessing student needs. Additionally, needs analysis allows for the customization of learning programs to student characteristics. Each group of students has unique backgrounds, interests, and demands. By studying students' needs specifically, teachers can select and design resources that are appropriate for their skill level, interests, and context. This will encourage students to learn. The article also emphasizes the importance of involving students in the needs analysis process

Abstract

This study is aimed to develop English learning media by implementing the PowToon application as a speaking learning medium. The problem in this study is based on students' difficulty in developing their ability in speaking English, and they also want learning with technology-based media. Based on the speaking material demands of the students, the researcher developed educational materials. Specifically, they created animated video utilizing the PowToon application. The participants of this study were 28 (Twenty-eight) students of class XI Business Online Marketing (BDP) SMK Karsa Mulya, Palangka Raya. In this study, the design and development research method were used. Researchers develop media by applying analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation (ADDIE). The development was based on questionnaires, interviews, and expert validation. The results of this study based on the result of assessment materials expert obtained a percentage of 93.96% with very good qualifications, while based on the assessment of media experts obtained a percentage of 88.6% with very good qualifications. The findings of the current study are useful for both the teacher and the students, as well as have theoretical and practical implications for the teaching and learning of English, particularly in English teaching. Theoretically, the results of this study gave knowledge and implementation of the field of language science, especially ETMD (English Teaching Media Development), and TELL (Technology enhanced Language Learning) on acquiring English and give solutions to find out the appropriate media in teaching speaking. Practically, the result of the study is that using PowToon as a learning medium to teach English can improve students' speaking skills in terms of communication.

Abstract

Teaching and learning materials are one of the most crucial elements that must be available in order to carry out teaching and learning activities. Teachers create materials because they are always trying to match resources with what their pupils need. They accomplish this by selecting, revising, and adding materials as they organize their classes. They also assess their materials as they go along based on how their students are responding. In this study, the development of EYL teaching and learning tools is discussed. This study falls under the category of document research, commonly known as library research. When conducting research in a library, the information is acquired from a variety of sources, including "books, journals, newspapers, government records, biographical sources, movies, reference books, almanacs, individuals, specialists, archives, the internet, etc. The theoretical underpinnings of the idea of learning materials, particularly for young learners, are explored in this article.
