Abstract

Pembelajaran interaktif merupakan pendekatan yang semakin diminati dalam dunia pendidikan modern. Pendekatan ini menekankan pada partisipasi aktif siswa dalam proses pembelajaran, menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang dinamis dan menarik. Salah satu aspek yang diperhatikan dalam pembelajaran interaktif adalah penggunaan lingkungan belajar berbeda yang menginspirasi dan memotivasi siswa untuk belajar dengan cara yang menyenangkan. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui pemanfaatan buku pop-up sebagai media pembelajaran interaktif dalam meningkatkan minat dan keterlibatan siswa dalam pembelajaran bahasa Inggris. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan deskritif kualitatif, yang fokus mendeskripsikan, meneliti, dan menjelaskan fenomena yang terkait dengan penerapan pembelajaran interaktif menggunakan buku pop-up untuk mempelajari kata keterangan frekuensi di MI Terpadu Berkah Palangkaraya. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukan bahwa pembelajaran interaktif menggunakan buku pop-up untuk mengajar kata keterangan frekuensi di MI Terpadu Berkah Palangkaraya meningkatkan antusiasme dan keterlibatan siswa. Namun, terdapat keterbatasan seperti kelas kurang kondusif karena antusiasme berlebihan siswa, kesulitan mengingat dan memahami materi, serta keterbatasan penglihatan media dari belakang. Rekomendasi untuk pengabdian selanjutnya yaitu pengembangan media pembelajaran dan menggunakan meida ajar lainnya. Interactive learning is an increasingly popular approach in modern education. It emphasizes the active participation of students in the learning process, creating a dynamic and engaging learning environment. One of the aspects considered in interactive learning is the use of different learning environments that inspire and motivate students to learn in a fun way. The purpose of this study is to determine the utilization of pop-up books as interactive learning media in increasing students' interest and involvement in English learning. This research method uses qualitative descriptive, which focuses on describing, examining, and explaining phenomena related to the application of interactive learning using pop-up books to learn adverbs of frequency at MI Terpadu Berkah Palangkaraya. The results showed that interactive learning using pop-up books to teach adverbs of frequency at MI Terpadu Berkah Palangkaraya increased students' enthusiasm and engagement. However, there are limitations such as less conducive class due to students' excessive enthusiasm, difficulty remembering and understanding the material, and limited media vision from behind. Recommendations for further service include developing learning media and using other teaching tools.

Abstract

This study discusses the benefits of social media as a medium for learning English. This is motivated by the current world of education, where with the rapid advancement of technology in the current era, teachers are always required to take advantage of existing facilities, one of which is social media as a complementary medium for learning material. This study aims to describe the benefits and uses of various social media, which can be used in education. The research method used to write this article is library research. The data collection technique is to collect validated references and then apply them in narrative form. The study results show that social media can greatly benefit the world of education if every teacher in Indonesia makes the most of it.

Abstract

This article analyzes the importance of data collection and measurement of progress in the English education curriculum. Accurate data collection and effective measurement methods play an important role in evaluating the effectiveness of the English education curriculum. Some of the relevant data collection methods include tests and examinations, use of portfolios, and class observations. Meanwhile, progress measurement methods include grades, performance scales, formative tests, project assessments, and self-evaluations. By using these methods, teachers can get comprehensive information about students' progress in English, which can then be used to design appropriate teaching strategies. Accurate data collection and effective measurement of progress will provide significant benefits in improving students' English learning

Abstract

Writing is significantly essential for English as a foreign language and English as a second language. Students’ language learning has constantly been regarded as essential ability contributing to English learning. The purpose of this study was analyze factors contributing to students’ difficulties in paragraph writing course based on the students’ perceptions. This study used a descriptive qualitative method. The instruments used were interview and documentation. This study, the participants’ answers were purposive sampling and analyzed descriptively. The participants were 60 students who were taking paragraph writing course in second semester academic year 2022/2023 in English Language Education Program at IAIN Palangka Raya. The data analysis procedure of the research analysis were data condensation, demonstration, and verifying conclusion. The overall result based on the questionnaire, students found difficulties to use grammar. Based on the findings, there were two factors that caused students’ difficulties in writing. The two factors were internal and external. Internal factors consisted of self-motivation, self-confidence, lack of knowledge and feeling of under pressure External factors consisted of the teacher’s teaching style, classroom atmosphere, materials, and writing aspects. This research hopefully can help lecture in developing appropriate teaching techniques in writing and minimize students' difficulties in paragraph writing course.

Abstract

One of the goals of education is to educate the life of the nation as stated in article 3 of Law no. 20 of 2003. For the realization of educational goals, it is necessary to have auxiliary media in implementing learning, namely the curriculum. Curriculum is a plan that is deliberately arranged to expedite the process of teaching and learning activities that are under the auspices, guidance and responsibilities of a school or educational institution to achieve educational goals. Therefore, there must be adjustments to the curriculum that is applied. The curriculum must be adapted to the needs of students and the achievements that must be met. This causes changes and developments in the curriculum on a regular basis. With regular curriculum changes, the question arises as to whether these changes in curriculum development have had an effect on students. Therefore, this research was conducted to determine the effect of curriculum changes on students. The research method used was literature study and a qualitative approach where researchers did not carry out direct analysis in the field, but only collected scientific papers from several sources related to the effect of curriculum changes on students. From the results of the study, the authors found that curriculum changes had a positive effect on learning outcomes, quality of education, increased competency and student learning but also had negative impacts such as the emergence of new problems for students such as student achievement decreased because they could not follow the new learning procedures. Curriculum development needs to be done for evaluation but must still be based on educational goals and the needs of students.

Abstract

This study aims to know the perspectives of the teacher and student in using classroom seating management in learning English at MTsN 2 Kota Palangka Raya. This study involved two classes that use different seating layouts, as follows pairs and table rows. Three students in each class would be picked up, so there would be 6 students, 2 homeroom teachers, and 2 English teachers to be interviewed. This study uses qualitative research with a case study method. A purposive sampling technique was used, where the research instruments included observation, interviews, and documentation studies are applied in this study. The result found that both of teacher's and students' perspectives show the same answer which agree the pair seating layout is more comfortable and effective to be used in the classroom in learning English than the table row seating layout. The students express that the pairs is fulfill their comfort during the teaching learning process in the classroom as the theory said. The teachers also confirm that the students is lack of active participation because of keep distracting by other students who start the chit-chat during the learning process on the table rows.

Abstract

In the current globalized world, learning English is essential for teachers and students in Indonesia to develop effective teaching strategies. Engaging edducational media, like diorama, can increase students' comprehension and focus when learning English. This community outreach is being carried out at MI Fathul Jannah to promote the use of dioramas in English language instruction. The method that is used is called "Service Learning," which involves observation, execution, and assessment. This activity involves discussion and debate about family members as well as interactive activities like spelling bees, translation, and matching features. The results indicate an increase in the understanding of kosakata, teamwork, and self-awareness among the learners in English. Even if there are time constraints, using a diorama as an innovative and interactive teaching tool works very well. This exercise is intended to serve as a guide for teachers to adopt the method.

Abstract

The collaborative community service activity between the lecturers and students at MTs Hidayatul Insan aims to enhance the learning experience and academic support for students under the title "Optimizing Student Role in Strengthening 4 Language Skills Through Adverb of Frequency Material for Students of Mts Hidayatul Insan Palangka Raya." This initiative focuses on improving language skills, particularly in the use of adverbs of frequency for the students. Through interactive workshops, classroom sessions, and practical exercises, the lecturers and students work together to develop engaging and effective teaching materials tailored to the needs of the students. Abstract

This research explores the synergy between lecturers, students and alumni of the Arabic and English Education Technology Study Program (TBI) at IAIN Palangka Raya in carrying out collaborative community service activities. The main focus of this research is the application of Islamic animation media as a means of strengthening verb language skills in students at the Berkah Palangka Raya Integrated Tsanawiyah Madrasah. The research method used is qualitative. The aim of this research is to improve the understanding and use of verbs in Arabic among MTs Terpadu Berkah Palangka Raya students. The research results show that through this collaborative approach, lecturers, students and alumni can create Islamic animated media that is interesting and relevant to the students' context. The use of Islamic animation media is effective in strengthening students' understanding of verb skills, as well as increasing their learning motivation. This research contributes to a practical understanding of how synergy between lecturers, students and alumni can improve collaborative community service in the field of education.

Abstract

This research aims to explore innovative approaches in integrating English-language religious content as a means of strengthening religious values ​​and improving listening skills in junior high school students at Alam School. This research uses a descriptive method, an innovative approach that illustrates the condition of the subject or object of research by detailing existing facts. The results of the research show that community service activities that use English religious content are successful in strengthening religious values ​​and improving students' listening skills. Students are able to understand and remember new vocabulary through listening to videos. They can also internalize the moral values ​​contained in the video. Apart from that, the use of gamification through the Kahoot application can motivate students to learn in an interactive and fun way. An innovative learning approach that integrates elements of religion and English can help students develop holistically, both spiritually, morally and in language skills. This approach can be an alternative that can be applied in learning English at school.
