Abstract

Islam and life are inseparable because Islam elevates the dignity of women and restores their rights, which had been violated by male dominance, religious traditions, and group fanaticism prior to the advent of Islam, when women’s rights were disregarded. This study employs qualitative methods by accumulating and analyzing library data descriptively and analytically. This article aims to describe the concept that Islam comes with a mission to restore the rights of women who have been marginalized as a result of prolonged jahiliyah conditions. This paper examines the relationship between Islam and human rights in the context of domestic violence, using family law and women's rights terminology. On the other hand, this review will focus on family law in the context of human rights preservation and domestic violence prevention

Abstract

Honey is a special food ingredient because of its taste, nutritional value and high efficacy. That's why honey is revered by many people as a unique type of food that is also medicinal which has been known since ancient time because it is able to maintain the immune system for those who consume it. In the past, people were not familiar with honey livestock and only got it in forests, but now many people have cultivated honey and even developed it with a factory processed system in such a way. This research will discuss the position of honey and the law of zakat on the results of the honey business based on the thought of mazhab (school of thought concerning Muslim law) Imam Shafi'i. This research is a library research with a qualitative approach. The result of research was that Imam Syafi’I had two views known as Qaul al-Qadim and Qaul al-Jadid. Zakat of honey in qaul al-qadim is obligated to pay zakat with qiyas that honey included staple food based on hadist and prophet’s friends. Imam Syafi’I says that honey is not obligated to pay because it does not include staple food. Imam Syafi'i moved from qaul qadim to qaul Jadid because he found a stronger argument to be used as a legal basis. Therefore, Imam Syafi'i did ijtihad and dismantled the results of the previous ijtihad be based on weak arguments. He says “The hadith saḥiḥ is my mazhab and leave my opinion if it contradicts the hadith sahih”. Istinbath (method in understanding the proposition of revelation)of law used by him is Imam Syafi’I to construct the reason based the hadist. Keywords: Honey, Zakat, Imam Syafi’i

Abstract

This study discusses character education in instilling washathiyyah values for the Muslim generation. Some Indonesian scholars who study the value of washathiyyah are Abdullah Nashih Ulwan, Hamka, and Zakiah Drajat. They are a row of scholars who spend all their lives inviting people to goodness through their works, pens and oral advice. Through their works and thoughts, they have contributed a lot in accompanying the journey of Muslims, especially in practicing the religion that is Rahmatan Lil 'Alamin. This research is a descriptive literature review with qualitative research. From the results of the study, it can be concluded that Abdullah Nashih Ulwan stipulates that the cultivation of washathiyyah Islamic values in building character must be carried out at every marhalah of the human journey from the age of conception, the phase of children, adolescents, and adults. likewise, the type of parenting will affect the growth and development of children as a generation of Muslims. There are parenting patterns that are democratic, authoritarian, permissive, and neglectful. Hamka views that the applied parenting should contain the values of shaja'ah, iffah, wisdom, and adl. Zakiah Drajat reveals feelings, behavior /actions, healthy body and mind as the key to grounding washathiyyah values for the Muslim generation. It is hoped that this paper will be able to provide an overview of the Indonesian Muslim Ulama and a reference for writing scientific papers based on the views of the three Ulama.

Abstract

Islam and Indonesia share a deep historical connection, with Islam entering the archipelago primarily through educational channels. This study focuses on the significant role of Muslim intellectuals in Indonesia, examining their efforts to spread Islam across various levels of society through educational institutions, cultural practices, and social customs. It indicates that the study uses a qualitative approach, specifically through literature study, and applies a text analysis method. The study analyzes various sources such as written texts, pictures, recordings, and both printed and electronic media. This method is appropriate for examining historical, cultural, and educational dynamics, allowing the researcher to interpret and analyze primary and secondary sources related to the spread of Islam in Indonesia and the role of Muslim intellectuals.  The result of the study showed that Islam and the state of Indonesia are like two sides of a coin, they are inseparable although Indonesia officially also recognizes other religions over Islam. History recorded that Islam has a historical relationship with leadership, mainly in the context of politics by kingdom cooperation and education effect which generates the effort to preach and spread the Islamic teachings from then until now.

Abstract

Fazlur Rahman, a leading Islamic thinker of the 20th century, proposed the concept of double movement as an important structure for analyzing the relationship between tradition and modernity in Islamic thought. The term “double movement” reflects Rahman's theory that the evolution of Islamic society included two fundamental movements. This type of research is qualitative research, using library research methods or also called literature review research with a character study approach. Fazlur Rahman's concept of double movement encapsulates the belief that the understanding and interpretation of Islamic teachings must occur in two areas: The First implies a commitment to the written sources and essential doctrines of Islam, while the Second movement represents the rapid adaptation of these teachings into everyday life. day. This theoretical picture stems from a critique of static interpretations of religious texts, which are believed to fall into dogmatism and ignore the experiences of individuals and society. The dual movement theory tries to align Islamic teachings with the needs of contemporary life. The double movement, as articulated by Fazlur Rahman, serves as an important structure for understanding the relationship between traditional texts and contemporary social challenges.
